Mostly land rover action, but also includes winching, fixing tyres, other story details. I cut most of the scenic filming from this one. See the full episode here: ua-cam.com/video/NguKEVAv18M/v-deo.html

LT95A transfercase center diff removal
Переглядів 2,3 тис.4 роки тому
Removing the centre diff from my RFSV perentie. I did this to change the high ratio gears from 1.123 to 0.996. I recommend you at least follow this instruction which details how to lactate the low range gear to centre diff housing: afmsafety.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/SRV-SF-LANDROVER-110-4X4-TRANSFER-CASE-DIFFERENTIAL-ASSEMBLY-OUTPUT-GEAR-RETAINING-BOLTS2.pdf Yes, you don't need to remo...

Land Rover 110 County diesel quarter mile drag willowbank isuzu turbo 4BD1T
Переглядів 4,9 тис.7 років тому
This run was 20.644 seconds quarter mile @ 102.49 kph. Making max 14psi with factory garrett (no wastegate), 3" exhaust and slight fuel up. It's a 1985 110 originally with the standard 3.9L 4 cylinder 4BD1, but I swapped that out for a 4BD1T. The chassis has now done 400,000 k's. It's got the LT95 box with 0.996 hi ratio, standard diffs axles etc (disc rear), on 7.50R16 michelin radials.

Land Rover Series 3 swb offroading
Переглядів 23 тис.8 років тому
Had a great day offroading/wheeling/4wding in my 1977 series 3 swb hard top! The original 2.25 petrol is a real workhorse, and my only enemy that day was the slippery hills and some axle tramp when all the wheels were spinning! I threw on my set of hi milers and off we went to Dagular state forest in the glass house mountains, queensland. I purchased the series 3 in 2015 and rebuilt the front e...

At 15:00 - the dogs look slightly concerned
Real australians , overcome every problem with common sense and guts , and just as important their wives with totall support
Toyota would have rusted away before it reached the other side!
I loved seeing these programmes by the Leyland Brothers as a kid. The original programmes, before they were remixed for "Ask the Leyland Brothers" were called "Off The Beaten Track."
These idiots in 2024, unleased 20 billion tourist with everything that can wage war against everything that it does not want on it's windscreen
The Leyland Brothers must have left so many stray feral dogs behind in 1974?
This is like invading the Gaza Strip without an American tank in 2024
I bet these guys were kicking themselves for not bringing a pickaxe
amazing!
I watched this series in around ‘76, when I was 6. Since then I always wanted to go to the cape. In ‘97 I did my first trip, because of the Leyland brothers. I’ve lived on the NPA now for over 20 years. Thanks for the tip, Mike and Mal!👍🍻🎯🇦🇺
@25:00....that's not a road! 😂 Cute li'l shovels.
Light years BEFORE Camel Trophy!! 🤙🏽 👍🏽 🍻🤠
To think these land rovers only had about 51hp / 118nm!
Now that's an adventure!
There is something morally wrong with drag racing a Land Rover. It could break the universe !😱🪐🌏😂🤣
How good were the old Land rovers. No nonsense machines.
1968 Series IIA now I know why I love it so much!
Where are they now?
RIP Mike Leyland (1941-2009).
Crossing the jardine, they didn’t have an alternator anyway, cause they removed the belt.. Wonder how’d go cobNcoing a 44 to the front and a couple either side of the tray, and swim it over?
Absolute legends,it’s amazing where we’ve come from in this country
No US cowboy music. What a relief. A time when Australia still had a distinct culture. I am fed up to the back teeth with just about every Australian you-tuber putting twanging steel-guitar C&W over all their vids. If you love America so much go and live there.
Where are the cruiser fanboys. land rovers pretty much opened up australia.
My fathers mate did it between 1970-4, not exactly sure what year, he also has footage of crossing the jardine with it up pretty high over the bonnet.
Feels like we're all in it together
Where were the crocodiles?

Another 5 yrs and i will be born.lol
I hope they got those gvm upgrades!
We used to be tough. Now we are soft as Sunday pancakes.
Glad to see the Australian safety thongs out when taking the tire off the rims. Love 1970's 🤠
Love this idea guys. A name suggestion you could call the show The Dirt, as in dishing up the dirt on all things 4wd in the dirt. Sorry to mansplain that one. I have noticed the click bait getting worse with SKT as well as Tyler Thompson and Elnic as well.
That was great.
So without Mt Bartle Freya , the cape would be an island ???
No one can say they weren't "Adventurous" .👍
Mike slept with Mal's wife on a camping trip and it's well known Mals missus youngest child looks like Mike.
This is pretty serious 4x4ing. I don't think many people are willing to spend 6 hours preparing an obstacle with a shovel anymore, or to wait a week for a 150m wide swollen river go drop only to eventually just go for it and let the winch try to pull them over while the car turns into a bath tub.
Yep ask the Leyland Brother's they were the best ever an still unbeaten
Brings back fun times watching them and thinking they're the only ones out there. Maybe they were ?
Now THAT'S a Farkn spider!
Notice! No snorkels!
If ever you see someone bragging about there drive to the Cape, show them this.
The good old days men were men, women were women, kids were kids and 4x4’s were 4x4’s
total respect for these leyland boys, no macho, ego, swearing every second etc etc. oldschool , respect !!!!
When men were men and 4x4s were 4x4s👍
Bloody amazing, just did the Cape 2 weeks ago much easier now!
Had a FJ40, LandCruiser , we were going to do the trip 1980 , but sadly work etc got in the way, now it's too easy, Those real adventurous days are gone, 🤠🦘🦘🇦🇺
Who saw the red bull can in the Ute
Yep it’s a landrover it’s gonna break a diff or axil Things should have been banned until they fixed the problem But we did what we could and we made it through and got back Broke tired and ready to go back to our 9 to 5 to get over the holidays 😂😂😂😂
The Leyland’s were ahead of their time! Great video!
Obviously with a road already there people had been there before...THAT would have been a docco...building that road
