In the 400s BCE, a Greek Philosopher did the unthinkable: he denied the existence of the gods. Was Hippo the first outspoken atheist in recorded history? Find out what he did that so incensed Aristotle.

Papal Profiles - The POWERFUL Gregory VII Who Changed Papal History
Переглядів 88День тому
In 1075, Gregory VII would initiate the #GregorianReforms that would radically transform European Church & State history. Gregory declared that the pope was the universal supreme monarch to whom all other kings must submit, claimed he had the right to depose any king, and had the power to absolve citizens of their allegiance to a mere terrestrial sovereign. The changes that emerged from the ref...

2 Kings 24 & 25 - Origins of Messianic Judaism
Переглядів 28421 день тому
Starting in the early 6th century, the Babylonians captured two kings of the House of David and exiled most of the population. When the Persians under Cyrus the Great defeated the Babylonians and allowed the Jews to return home and build a new temple it created a problem: the Bible states God made a covenant with David that his descendants would rule in perpetuity. Thus, the messianic ideology ...
Exposing the Truth About Jordan Peterson's Exodus Series

As with his 2017 series on Genesis, once again, Jordan Peterson takes on Exodus. And, once again, he fails entirely to confer any legitimate or comprehensive analysis. Indicative of his intent to spoon-feed biblical rhetoric are his A) sponsors; B) panelists he includes; and C) the type of scholars he excludes. Let's also look at the ludicrous claims made by his panel and deconstruct their mist...

Papal Profiles - Sylvester II: The Philosopher-Pope Who Transformed European History

At the turn of the first millennium, a philosopher-pope was appointed to head the Catholic Church. Accused by some Christians of making a pact with the devil, this brilliant scholar was a mathematical and scientific genius. In the Pope's Against the Jews Kertzer hides an interview Leo XIII gave condemning anti-semetism in the endnotes, doesn't mention any of his encyclicals, and falsely claims the Jewish Deicide was a part of Catholic Doctrine up until Vatican II (this is contradicted The Teaching of Contempt by Jules Isaac who Kertzer cites and is easily accessible in the Catechism of the Council of Trent you can look up online). I probably would have brought some of this up if I had a chance to interview him.

Christian stupidity at its very finest! This teaching, this understanding, this Theology has no legitimacy - none of it is valid! Such complete and utter nonsense! Until the evils of Biblicism, Biblical Literalism, and Biblical Infallibility are laid bare to the world then majority Christendom will not improve! Quite why Christians are so bone headedly stupid Hashem alone knows. The bible quite simply is NOT the holy book that its promoters would have you believe! Idiots like this on YT together with their blind and bone headed groupies get all bent out of shape about something (homosexuality) that proceeded from the Divine and Divinity to condemn something created by the Divine. The problem lies with those who believe that the Bible is anything other than a book of stories - which it demonstrably is - to something it never was that being an infallible, inerrant guide to life! The latter is nothing more than a claim unbacked by any actual evidence! All the G-ds and G-desses are indeed great and Divinity comes in all shapes and sizes that ultra thick traditionalist and Fundamentalist Christians will never have the necessary two brain cells to rub together to quite fathom! Little wonder that Christendom is held in such low esteem by anyone with a 🧠 brain! Thing is Hashem is not the psychopathic moron they would have him, her, it (all pronouns accepted) be!

💥The Bible clearly teaches that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge (Proverbs1:7; Job28:28). JasonS. exudes the typical 'ABC Syndrome' of the average agnostic or atheist: Always angry, bitter and cynical. His "theology" (Jungian?) not recommended. Were the Biblical text really of such doubtful historicity as he surmises, why is it still the world's bestseller of all time? Jason, I share with you a great secret: The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge! Get over it.

Why would Christians want to be disciple-d by a non-Christian who has never given a definitive answer on [eg], ''is Christ the son of God'?'' IIRC, the "concept of zero" is not accurate either. Rather, concept of a _written_ zero, which was not done before in the Western world. You can see in structure of various languages numbering designations that there were other base systems in use. For example, French has clear influences from a base 20 system. EG, the for 80, the french say "quatre-vingt." Literally "four-twenty". I would venture that we, here, value "one dozen" because of influences of base 12 systems. Many alphabetic languages used the letters of their alphabet for representation of quantities, based on their position in that list.

Incorrect. He was most definitely not referring to himself, but to the archangel Michael mentioned in Daniel 12. Note also Mark 8:38, which is NOT a first-person reference: ‘Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of Man be ashamed, when HE cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.’

People don't realize how ridiculous the 40 years are. So, let's do a simple calculation: 40 years is 40*365*24 hours, that is 350,400 hours. According to the internet, the garden snail's can reach a speed of 0.048 km/hour, so in that amount of time a snail would have crawled 16819.2 km. Divide this distance by 752km (according to your video @1m50sec) and you get 22.36, which is how many times a snail would have done this trip in 40 years. Here's an other way to view this: About 600,000 Israelites wake up every day, they put a garden snail on the ground, they all get behind it and start following it. After just over one hour (64.38 minutes to be exact) they stop, pick up the snail and set camp for the day. They do the same thing the next day, and every day for 40 years until they reach the promised land. Meanwhile, the Pharaoh's army is chasing them. Thank you for the video.

I remember learning about the forged primacy in school in Greece, many decades ago. A few years later, in my late adolescence/early adulthood I became an atheist, and back then I used to think that most of it was bitterness about losing power to the Vatican (school books in Greece are, of course, heavily biased towards anything Byzantium related). This channel (which, I will say again, is shamefully undersubscribed) helped me see that, at least on this subject, my school books were basically accurate. Thank you, kind sir, for yet another very interesting video. Looking forward to your book.

They did a great job in my opinion. However, this channel shows that they didn't even scratch the surface. Once again I have to quote one of my favorite passages from one of my favorite books: “Many religions now come before us with ingratiating smirks and outspread hands, like an unctuous merchant in a bazaar. They offer consolation and solidarity and uplift, competing as they do in a marketplace. It is unbelievable that the internal law of the Catholic Church still doesn't have an explicit requirement to report the sexual abuse of children to civil authorities. Unbelievable, and infuriating. Any Catholic with a shred of dignity should acknlowdedge this, push for it to change, and demand that anyone covering for such crimes, up to and including the Pope, should be sent to prison. I wonder which other religious institutions have internal laws that allow for such behaviors by their clergy. I do know that the Mormon church has covered or tried to cover its clergy on numerous occasions. I wonder which other religious institutions (like the Orthodox Churches, the various Protestant Churches in the US and elsewhere, the Jehova's Witnesses, Scientology etc) have similar provisions to cover the abuse or lack the explicit provisions that require reporting. Thank you for shedding a light on the history behind this horrible situation.

Since he got mega famous, he's toned it down and now is a pretty standard conservative traditionalist, but peppered with esoteric and fascist points.
