Hips Don't Lie: How to Engage Your Hips for Better Movement
Mannnnn, just came across this channel and thanks alot brotha!! These are basics that some gyms ive been too dont talk about, just go straight to sparring.
can you do one on more hip rotation/torque? Whether my arm and hips moves at the same time or I should move my hip first while my arm follows with it afterwards? Also, with bending the legs down then exploding up and so forth.
thx bro
Nice
Where are you man please comeback to UA-cam
Hope this channel gets revived
Still struggling with it anyway I can contact you and maybe video call to see if you can point out my mistake
I’ve just started boxing and this is probably the 30th video ive seen on how to throw a left hook and by far the best. 👏
Thank you so much. You helped me with the back foot down first then front foot pivot. Now I feel like I’m throwing my hooks better even though I have no experience and just learning via videos.
Thank you this is gold
Great vid
Thanks for the drill man:), another tip that helped me a great deal is to engage the lat beforehand
That is amazing work! I will give this a try as I am getting into boxing and learning all the basics.
Really good vid
Do you have to pivot your lead foot? I've been watching all the great left hook ko artists and most don't appear to pivot there lead foot? Seems to be planted!
That's because they have refined their technique. Start with bigger movements, i.e. the foot pivot and lots of hip rotation, and once you really understand the weight shift and hip rotation, start making the movements much shorter.
This guy has 2 years to post a video these are all underrated and very helpful, hopefully he will make a comeback with more useful stuff, thanks mate !!!!
Great tip
That's a very good tip
Youre legend
Thank you 👍🏾👍🏾
RIP STEEZ
@@Echani3007 all day
4 years on and this is a fantastic well explained video thank you sir
Thank you.
Nice video
Thank you I was doing it all wrong and all my strength came from the arm but they were still strong ass hits Now that I finally learned to do this properly I can follow through with my hook
Great work!!!👍 I can throw combinations fast beacuse I learned how to throw punches properly.
Hello I wanted to say thank you for the informative videos you make! Do you have any blogs or social media so I can follow you and learn more?
You effortlessly implement feints, nice work!
Thank you for posting these videos
Never trew the left hook with as good technique and power till now.this video deserves more credit
Love that. Nice and clear 💪🏻
Finally 🤷🏻♂️ Cheers kid 💪🏻
Very well explained. You always see videos that just explain the pivot. Left hook is very confusing when learning it as its counter intuitive to transfer your weight from front to back when throwing a punch to generate power. Straight right is much more natural to throw as weight is being transferred from back to front. I like to think of it in terms of a tug of war. You wouldn't want your weight on your lead foot in a tug of war.
Great vdo
James Stapleton Hey pal just found you channel after goimg to very old reddit post and after seeing all the video i wanted to ask. At the moment of impact of the jab your weight ends up in the rear leag ? I mean you push with your rear leg to transfer weight to the front and at the moment of impact of the jab you push your weight again to the rear leg? Or you just pust with the rear leg and kepping the weight on it while stepping ?
Bro. Your a god send
Good video dude!
It's OK to say this is how you do it but it's not that simple you must develop these abilities over decades its not a quick fix for sure this is not how ufc combatant or Pro boxer Pro kickboxer Pro nak muay develops to the point the have their hands registered as lethal weapons. This doesn't come from watch you tube video 😑
Nobody has to register their hands as lethal weapons.
Don't be so negative, just noticing that you have a bad habit can be the start of correcting it, this video does that and gives a good way of fixing it.
No shit this is to help people that already train, are u slow?
It’s ask quick as you make it, you got no idea what you’re taking about
You don’t register your hands as lethal weapons unless you have committed a crime that is harming another person in any way
Thanks for sharing James!
This dude was arguing with me on Reddit lmao
hes is know as A GUY on sherdog , hes very very wise and knows what he is talking about !
My trainer says to not lean into punches just keep your weight distributed evenly and rotate your hips to get power
Yeah, I have heard many say it should be like a 60/40 spilt.
When throwing the straight right your weight should move onto the front foot at the last possible second. The longer your weight spends on the foot that's twisting the heavier the punch will be. Doing this will force you to move diagonally downwards as you throw and stop any wasteful upwards movement. That's the only thing jumping out at me. The rest looks slick af.
Crisp, effortless, fluid technique. Good shit
I've missed your analysis on forums and the like, man.
Nice work!
Wooooow
Presentation is perfect. Direct and understandable. Please make more videos.
Could you please do a video regarding stepping with the lead hook/ lead uppercut (weight on te lead hip first)?
Good points. Advanced techniques. Yet what about driving the weight up and over first before turning?
How do you feel it fits in? Do you know of any resources that address this?
great vid man!
Solid no nonsense videos as always. I regularly practice the basics more after watching these.
