    can you do one on more hip rotation/torque? Whether my arm and hips moves at the same time or I should move my hip first while my arm follows with it afterwards? Also, with bending the legs down then exploding up and so forth.

    I’ve just started boxing and this is probably the 30th video ive seen on how to throw a left hook and by far the best. 👏

    Thank you so much. You helped me with the back foot down first then front foot pivot. Now I feel like I’m throwing my hooks better even though I have no experience and just learning via videos.

    Do you have to pivot your lead foot? I've been watching all the great left hook ko artists and most don't appear to pivot there lead foot? Seems to be planted!

    • @lachycummings3765
      @lachycummings3765 Рік тому

      That's because they have refined their technique. Start with bigger movements, i.e. the foot pivot and lots of hip rotation, and once you really understand the weight shift and hip rotation, start making the movements much shorter.

    Very well explained. You always see videos that just explain the pivot. Left hook is very confusing when learning it as its counter intuitive to transfer your weight from front to back when throwing a punch to generate power. Straight right is much more natural to throw as weight is being transferred from back to front. I like to think of it in terms of a tug of war. You wouldn't want your weight on your lead foot in a tug of war.

    James Stapleton Hey pal just found you channel after goimg to very old reddit post and after seeing all the video i wanted to ask. At the moment of impact of the jab your weight ends up in the rear leag ? I mean you push with your rear leg to transfer weight to the front and at the moment of impact of the jab you push your weight again to the rear leg? Or you just pust with the rear leg and kepping the weight on it while stepping ?

    It's OK to say this is how you do it but it's not that simple you must develop these abilities over decades its not a quick fix for sure this is not how ufc combatant or Pro boxer Pro kickboxer Pro nak muay develops to the point the have their hands registered as lethal weapons. This doesn't come from watch you tube video 😑

    • @SteveSarginson
      @SteveSarginson 4 роки тому

      Nobody has to register their hands as lethal weapons.

      Don't be so negative, just noticing that you have a bad habit can be the start of correcting it, this video does that and gives a good way of fixing it.

    My trainer says to not lean into punches just keep your weight distributed evenly and rotate your hips to get power

  • @afriend1743

    When throwing the straight right your weight should move onto the front foot at the last possible second. The longer your weight spends on the foot that's twisting the heavier the punch will be. Doing this will force you to move diagonally downwards as you throw and stop any wasteful upwards movement. That's the only thing jumping out at me. The rest looks slick af.
