Malin Lewis - Luna's
From my debut album Halocline, Luna's was filmed on the Isle of Skye, featuring my yellow wellies and a jumper from my Granny.
Luna was a gorgeous wee rescue Jack Russell
that I was fortunate enough to know. She was a
little bit wonky and was the most lovable dog I’ve
ever known!
Filmed by Jonathan Doyle and edited by Nic Kane.

Malin Lewis - Hiraeth

The first track on my album Halocline. Hiraeth - longing for a time or a place that you cannot return to or that never quite existed. For me this tune is about the small island of Eilean Shona where I grew up and my childhood memories of that place. In a wider sense, it is longing for a political world in which everyone can feel safe and loved.

The Old Inn This wonderful pub in Carbost is where I played sessions whilst growing up in the Isle of Skye. I went along as a youngster before going on to host them with a range of amazing musical friends. It was a time for having fun, learning repertoire, experimenting with different musical styles and meeting new people who came from all over. Filmed by Jonathan Doyle at The Old Inn, Carbost ...

The Tunnel - 1 shot, 1 take! Magic filmed by the amazing Sandy Butler and performed by Malin Lewis, Luc McNally and Cammy Maxwell. Malin Lewis - Effervescent folk played on fiddle, bouzouki, double bass and a newly invented self-made bagpipe. Hair tingling, philosophical and dance inducing melodies inspired by European folk traditions, humans, queerness and the universe.

Trans - A tune about visibility and the joy of being yourself! One of Scotland’s most exciting innovators, Malin melds tradition with electronics on a newly invented, self-made bagpipe. Hair tingling, philosophical and dance inducing melodies inspired by European folk traditions, humans, queerness and the universe.

Malin, how do you get the upper octave notes on your Small pipes? Have you done something to your chanter? Or was that a saxophone chiming in as a harmony bit.
Hi there AA - the chanter is a Lindsay chanter with alternative fingering to obtain a full octave (and beyond).
Fab!
This is beautiful!
