Good job I had to do the same thing on mine

The reason this happened is because you need a new valve cover gasket, that’s why your spark plugs have oil, this will continue to happen in the future you don’t replace it, the coil and the cables were unnecessary

This is a pretty straightforward job. Remove RF wheel. Remove liner. Remove serpentine belt. Loosen a/c pump 4x 13mm (no need to discharge a/c system, just leave lines in place). Leave upper bolts of a/c pump in place (not enough space to remove them from the pump) Remove serpentine belt tensioner (15mm socket). Now you have all the space you need to replace the ps line (17mm). Be very careful when inserting the line in the pump: the rubber o-seal damages quickly and you’ll notice that only when you’re al finished…. Use correct fluid (Chrysler special). Bleed system by steering L/R/L/R a couple of times. 1 tot 1 1/2 hour job max.

I just changed my daughter`s ignition coil $25 (Part Geeks), new plugs and spark plug wires too. Had the same code and ran rough. Now it is fixed. I didn`t have to take anything additional off like some You Tubers have done. I just removed the 8mm bolts and lifted the intake manifold and used a bungee cord to keep it away. Simple repair. I replaced her radiator last Spring and hoses. Like you I`m going to have a mechanic replace her timing belt and water pump. It`s worth the cost ($850-1000). I saved a lot of money doing my own repairs on the PT so I guess it balanced out. This car is easy to fix. Timing Belt is an expensive repair on most cars. Thankfully I have other cars that use a Timing Chain. Wish all cars have Timing Chains.

Did your spark plugs have oil like this guys?

Do you realize Chrysler has a recall on this for 2001-2005 Cruisers because of the nut was rubbing the hose? For non-turbo engines, Google it or check with the dealer.

Hi, do you still have your P.T.? I have an 05 PT, GT, convertible. Love the car. I have similar check engine light come on, a while later will go off. Wondering if it's my ignition coil. 91K on my PT. Mechanics don't like to work on these cars. Let me know, John in Fremont.

I just performed this repair on a 2005 Turbo and this was my adventure: Raise car Remove front wheels Remove fender skirts from front half and fold back Remove grill Remove rad core upper brace Remove rad core lower brace Remove rad fan Remove bumper cover Remove headlights (driver headlight is in the way of rusty bumper bolt and had to drill out bolt) Tilt rad forward to access pump flare fitting Remove pressure line (brackets are riveted to low pressure line so drilled out rivets) Remove rear pressure line flare nut from behind the front frame brace (easy) Clean dirt and grit off pump (better to clean pump after fan removal with old line attached) Install new line Note: Installing the front flare fitting into the pump was exceedingly difficult due to the location and position of the nut. Aligning the new line centered in the pump is super critical to get the flare nut threaded into the pump. This part might be best with a helper and mirrors. It took me about two hours just to get this flare nut threaded into the pump. Reassemble.

This is the best video on the subject. My pressure line burst a few days ago so I'm researching the swap. I might try accessing the pump end from the passenger wheel well, too. Thank you.

I would check the label on that Castrol Edge closely. Yes, it is 0W-20 but does it say it meets VW 508.00 spec. According to Audi, the say use the Castrol Edge Professional which comes in a gold bottle/jug.

Oh Look, I'm doing the same job! But the day before Christmas! Got my parts late from Amazon but I was able to go ahead and get it for $22 which is pretty good however I'm pretty sure it doesn't come with O-rings I can't see them in the bag. it's really nice being able just to go up to the auto parts store pick of the parts you need the same day and got everything done you can't imagine how nice that is, for a person that doesn't actually do any off-road especially if you live in some place like California or it's nothing but asphalt then you're pretty fine doing it that way there's not really any danger of getting snagged up on anyting but that's the only reason why they install it the way that they do. you can also install some Teflon around the line and then of course but some kind of sheathing over it and that way it shouldn't produce any problems in the long run if you decide to physically mount it with the hardware included. I'm going to be using some Tesa tape on my lines and that should pretty much take care of the problem for the life or the vehicle. if they just extended the hard lines for a little bit further than this probably would have never been a problem in the first place, thanks for the video man and you know what unfortunately it's wet out here in the Pacific Northwest but it must be nice working on your car when it's nice and dry especially during winter time!
