thank you so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Thanks so much! This is the only thing that worked for me
does anybody know how to do this process in linux?
There are multiple tools on Linux you can use. Either in the terminal for example with the tool parted or cfdisk (both are usually standard on most Linux distributions) or if you want the comfort of a GUI try out gparted (if you’re on xorg) or the gnome disks tool (if on gnome wayland) as an example.
@@TechSupportOnHold1 Thank you for the answer! I got into the linux world just a couple months ago so I'm still discovering how to do specific things that I used to do in Windows. I'm currently using Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon Edition. I tried using the disk manager from Mint, but when I formatted my flashdrive there (sucessfully), it seemed to get way slower at writing files. I tried using gparted from the flatpak app store but I didn't quite understood how it works and it seemed to have some kind of conflict with the Mint system (from what I've assumed). Sometimes it required my password just to access normal folders in my secundary drive, so I unninstalled it. I ended up doing this process in windows but my flash drive still slow at writing, which is really strange since it's not the first time that I put an ISO in it through balena etcher. When I searched the balena etcher blog site for the solution, it showed me commands at the terminal that couldn't address the correct path of my flash drive, so it didn't work. I don't know if I made something wrong throughout the process, but I tried it multiple times changing things here and there. This is the link of the article from balena that I am talking about: "blog.balena.io/did-etcher-break-my-usb-sd-card/". I will try this "parted" and the "cfdisk" that you mentioned. If you don't mind, could you give me an url of a video or site describing this process? Or could you describe it to me? I will search it for myself for sure, but a point of view from someone who already know how to solve a problem I'm interested in can be helpful. Thanks nonetheless!
@@TechSupportOnHold1 Thank you for the answer! I joined into the Linux world just a couple months ago so I'm still finding out how to do specific things that I used to in Windows. I'm currently using Linux MInt 22 Cinnamon Edition. First I successfully formatted my flash drive through the Mint disk manager. But it got way slower at writing files. So I tried using gparted from the flatpak app store, but I didn't quite understood how it works, and it seemed to have some kind of conflict with the Mint system since it started asking for my password whenever I wanted to access my secondary drive. So I unninstalled it. I ended up doing this process on Windows, but my flash drive still writing slowly, which is strange since it's not the first time that I put an ISO in it with balena and recover it after that. I tried following the process listed for linux in the balena etcher blog, but it couldn't get my flash drive path right. I don't know if I did something wrong throughout the steps but I tried it many times, always changing things here and there. Here is the link to the article on balena's blog that I cited: "blog.balena.io/did-etcher-break-my-usb-sd-card/". I'll try these "tool parted" and "cfdisk" that you mentioned. Big thank you! Balena developers were not kind enough to put at least a readme file about the crap it might happen to my flash drive.
Thank you so much for your help, I thought I've lost my USB. FUCK BALENA ETCHER!
Simple and easy fix. Thank you
Thanks man you are a life saver
You're a lifesaver, thank you!
help after doing all it say please insert a disk in usb drive h
Wow - all I have to say is - get this man on the NixOS team as a lead -compensate him for his efforts - you are correct in that the instructions remind me of those textbooks back in the day that give you an “example” of a problem - but it really doesn’t solve the problem. The amount of extra steps needed makes me think you need to be hired by these people to actually fix their misleading communication. It’s the equivalent of creating a manual to explain the poorly worded instructions.
Thank you for the kind comment!
Thank you bro, it resolved my issue, I had to just restart balena etcher after doing all the above steps and the error is gone
Thanks for the help. I fixed my USB device
greatest video ever
Thank you for sharing this info
You are a savior. Thank you.
probably the only non generic solution for this problem, much obliged, fixed the issue perfectly, may I add that I had to partition the USB myself from windows disk management before I could restore full access to it.
This doesn't work for me, kept cleaning and then my usb stops working, and i have to format it again...
windows was unable to complete the format -_-
