Yes, all roads policing vehicles are automatic for quite some time for safety reasons. Only now are local vehicles becoming autos too with the latest Peugeots
The VW Toureg, Volvo XC90 and V70 seems under powered against the BMW X5, 3 Series and the 5 series.
I don’t see much difference. VW do tend to engineer their cars differently to BMW in fairness, and BM’s probably have more power. But Volvo wouldn’t spring to mind when you think of speed 😂 bloody good car all the same.

What a dangerous setup! No fend off lights, a dangerously quiet siren, driver angles his car at the completely wrong angle so can’t be seen, surprised there wasn’t an accident here!

very true. But going through a red light, yes its one of their many exemptions, But if the copper has an accident ,then they have to justify their actions in court, hell of a lot of paperwork and potential jail sentence if they kill or seriously injure someone. Always go through at walking pace and remember treat as give way, if someone, as you say blind and probably away with the fairies" doesn't give way then they have to wait. I personally think that there should be a separate law that allows passage through red lights, with the onus being put on the motorist not the emergency vehicle
