DIY AI Sprayer Drone - Improvements for Next Time - Part 4
Переглядів 42014 днів тому
Cheaper, cleaner food. That's the goal of version 2 of my ai powered sprayer drone. The concept is simple - use AI to only spray weeds, which reduces the amount of chemicals applied to the field. Use automation to swap batteries and refill the sprayer tank autonomously, reducing labor and cost in the process. The net is less chemicals and labor go into a field while maintaining yields, which me...

I'm a part time choir director and sometimes I write music for my choir. In the past I've composed from scratch but it takes a ton of time. There's currently no AI that'll output sheet music in a style you specify with instruments/lyrics etc. so in the end you'll be putting notes and words on a page - I use musescore for this. with all due respect, what a stupid idea. You show 4 occasions on how this could be useful. Top right is you on a desk with no gloves. and your right hand mobile. Why on earth would you not place your phone on the desk and have clear view. Bottom right you are holding a chain saw. this contraption would distract you slightly when operating deadly machinery. So I don't see anyone in their right mind would ever consider this and to promote it can lead you in trouble. You need to have a disclaimer and in fact don't include that. If anyone has an accident while operating that , you could be liable. On to my next point. how long are you doing your errands? you really need to be strapped to a phone every 30 minutes? It looks like it's so slow and cumbersome, why not focus on your task, finish it in timely manner. and take of one glove and check your phone? Whose going to check the weather when doing some errands. You've made a solution to no problem. Check on AliExpress for " Armband phone". it's couple of dollars. you now have can see your phone. then use okay google to check messages or other things. and google new gemini AI can literally do anything and everything with voice controls so all you have to do is talk to it, your contraption is stuck in the past. When you actually need to use your hand. just take of one glove and start using it. I bet you it's faster and more convenient than your contraption that you have to tap your leg and stand still and bob your head. Better still just do your errand and focus. then take a break to look at your phone. Stop wasting time on that , and find a solution to a problem that people might actually have. You need to actually put a disclaimer that operating your contraption you are not liable for or something AND YOU DON'T RECOMMEND IT. and if someone does you are not liable, this is for educational purpose, blah blah. Or have fun with a law suit if/when someone injures themselves doing some chainsaw activities with that LOL

    Overall your design looks really impressive for the first iteration! Could you use better springs/brushes making contact with the battery instead of a squishy material under the battery? Or is it important for the battery to be stationary for reasons other than battery contact. Latches would be nice, but probably complicated--high power for electric latches and tough tolerances for mechanical ones. Good luck!

    That's truly crazy, I love it. Visualizing one for my M30T. I would skip charging and use the DJI charger, just manually reload the spinner. I was looking to build a rigid landing pad but this idea looks like a fun winter project. They sell a fancy charging dock but it does not swap batteries to re-launch, which is what I need. I picture it coming out the right side of my van.

    Great video. We have been using these methods in India for centuries. It's so simple yet many people never realise about this. You can actually use this method for many other millets. Millets are also way more healthy, because they contain complex carbohydrates and high amounts of soluble and insoluble fibre. They're good for reducing plaque in arteries because of soluble fibres, and also great for your gut microbiome because of insoluble fibres. They've been the staple food for many centuries in India, until the last century when Rice and Wheat took over. Also, one advice... You should not directly pressure cook any millet. You should let them soak in water for about 6-8 hours before you use them for cooking. This has to do with the anti-nutrients present in millets (phytic acid, etc.) which inhibit nutrient absorption in your body. To reduce the level of anti nutrients, you need to create a pseudo-germination environment. When you soak these seeds in water for 6-8 hours, they release most of the phytic acid in them, and are then good to cook and eat.

    Thanks for the detailed description. The only feedback I have for you is to avoid using the brass fittings. Our water tested at 23mg/l for lead and it took a lot of searching to find a couple of fittings like shown in your image as the source. Lead free brass they said, but it still had lead. Replacing them with 304SS brought the level down to 0.2. Something to think about.

      I didn't want to miss any weeds, so if a weed was present (even in the middle of non-weed) I classified as a weed. It biases the model toward spraying more, but also hits more weeds.

  • @nathanbanks2354
    @nathanbanks2354 Місяць тому

    This looks really neat! I wonder if you can take a few thousand images from the drone and use the initial classifier to sort them, then use these images to train a better classifier. I'm also curious if you could classify the images with GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini or Claude's API...I don't know how many tokens an image is, but you could probably classify a lot of images with $5. You don't need a subscription to use the playground & API. The LLM's pretty good at things like "Respond with BLACKBERRY or GRASS or LANDING PAD" though you may want to tell it to describe the items in the image first or something--if it "thinks" about the output first it can be more accurate just like the o1-preview model. People have been saying "think step by step" in questions since early 2023. The tokens in the first part of the output are also used to generate the last part, so it can direct the model in the right way. But manually sorting based on a hundred images isn't too arduous, and it works well!

    • @nathanbuildsdiy
      @nathanbuildsdiy Місяць тому

      That's an interesting idea. I haven't tried that. So you're thinking I could feed the image to a multimodal LLM and ask it to classify the image, then I could pop it into the correct directory to use when training the tflite model?
