'91 onward, no one cares.
Two things...referee Hebner had the slowest three count in history! Second, thank god for Roman Reigns being a solid champion. There was such a long run of changing champions every month it was ridiculous. The WWE loves to tout that "so and so" is a 10 time or 14 time champion. Well that's really not a big deal since the belts changed hands every fine minutes back in that era. John Cena held the belt so many times but sometimes for a couple of weeks lol ! A great champion is someone who HOLDS the belt not someone who won it 15 times...because don't forget... they also lost it 15 times!
Great video
I found gene kininski and lou thesz footage (and jack brisco)
@@sameeknowsitall where?
@ It was a documentary I saw on the wwe network (peacock). I forget the name of it.
who is riley osbourne is he good ?
@skittleking360 he is from NXT he is in Chase U, and from what I've seen, he's petty good :D
This just proves how WWE screwed R Truth
Not really. He still got his payday and is a fan favorite. He does his roll very well.
Jobber belt 😂😂😂😂
Bring back the cruiserweight title on the main roster
Nwa title meant nothing after the territories died. After Kerry von erich won it and then flair got it back it died shortly thereafter. It basically was the JCP then WCW title as there wasn't much of an NWA afterwards. The national meetings ended in like 84 or 85.
I’d say it died once wcw got a hold of it. It was officially dead when Shane Douglas threw it. It gained some sort of meaning once tna got a hold of it but once tna left them it completely died.
What an ugly looking belt; so Generic. The fake Continental belt from wrestlemania 10 looks better
Slater Jeffries beat Dan Severn for the title.
Who
can you do every intercontinental champ pls
@skittleking360 if I get some time lol, I'll start working on it :D
Only show
WOW!! Tremendous Job! Thany you very much for this Video.👍👍👍
A Video for NWA Heavyweight Championship or Belt Appearance in WWE Programs. please.
From legends to backyard garbage
So ... judging by high-pitched hollering ... Lawler was surprised by everything.
THE QUALITY OF CHAMPIONS DEGRADED WITH PASSAGE OF TIME, ALSO AFTER 2011 MOST OF THE CHMAPS WERE CRAP.
Thanks everyone for 100K VIEWS :D
As a practical matter, the NWA ceased to exist in 1991, and the title became meaningless from that point forward. Any viewer can stop at 4:40
100%
Where is ric flairs 16 time title reings
Almost all of his 16 titles are with WCW & NWA
SHEAMUS ON SPEED THOUGH SMH
Why hate? It's awesome
This is revisionism. It played out very differently at the time...
It will always be WWF to me. I do not recognize WWE.
Too fast
@godofwarandpeace I know it was longer, but I had to cut because WWE took it down
Flair and Race are the only 2 traveling world champs.
Going back to Thesz, all the old NWA champions, that held the belt for any length of time traveled. It's the reason guys like Bockwinkle never wanted the belt and both Funk brothers and Brisco wanted to drop the belt.
😂😂😂 What a sad, sad, sad state of affairs with your comment.
@@FrankieBlueEyes Bockwinkel was being paid the same as the NWA champion and worked the same amount of dates, roughly. Bockwinkel traveled quite a bit as AWA champion.
@@Rjensen2 Tell me how I'm wrong? Please name who really traveled like they did worldwide.
@@Rjensen2 How many times did he work in Japan, Australia defending the AWA belt.
How time flies for this title.
The WWF Light heavyweight title actually existed in a prior incarnation in Mexico and Japan (WWF used to have relationships with UWA and New Japan in the 70s and 80s), later becoming part of the unified J-Crown championship and was one of the many belts that Ultimo Dragon carried when he appeared as J-Crown champion on WCW television in 1996. So technically, Dragon was the first wrestler to hold a WWF and WCW championship simultaneously when he became the Cruiserweight champion. In November 1997, the WWF requested that the title stop being promoted. The J-Crown was disbanded, with champion Shinjiro Ohtani vacating all the titles except the IWGP Junior heavyweight, and Taka won the title in the WWF the following month.
The NWA title had meaning up until the late 80's - early 90's when there were some territories still in business. The actual meaning of the NWA title belt has been lost it seems with even today which I don't understand. That title belt meant you were the World Heavyweight Champion, the traveling champion who defended that belt all around the world - Japan, Australia, Mexico, ETC. That was what that title belt meant, and it has not meant more than just another championship belt since Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair had it last. Now, it WOULD have its meaning back IF the NWA decided to do something different than WWE, such as bring back a territory system back. Have AEW in the mix, too and start scouting for the best indie promotions in each territory of the states here and then you will not only have the true NWA back, but also have some GOOD wrestling where anything can happen and the champion travels all over the country. They can do business with NJPW if they are still interested in the idea too in Japan. That is how I see it as and how it can work. Just keep the cooks out of the kitchen, or else you'll have too many egos adding their own opinions into the same stew. That was what happened last time in the 80's where greed killed it.
It didn't mean anything in the late 80s.
too true - handful of guys I never heard of.......................
died after wcw dropped them
Yep. It has never been the same since Turner completely changed all the branding of their company from NWA to WCW around the end of 1990. Even when they reintroduced the Big Gold belt as the NWA title in 1992 (it was labeled as the "WCW" title before Flair left with it the year before), and it was acknowledged that WCW was a member of the NWA, an alliance of promoters worldwide, it was still treated as the secondary "world' championship behind the WCW title.
Tna revived them for a few years.
Dead long before that.
@@sameeknowsitallit was meaningless
That naming convention "Orville Brown/1/501 Days" is very unclear and devalues this video.
It's only unclear to you.
@@Rjensen2 - Thanks for the friendly response you pencil-necked geek. I would guess it's a reference to the number of title reigns and total number of days as champion but it's unclear as to relevant facts like when the title runs occurred and, for those with more than one run, what was the respective length of the individual runs. I should stop there before I trigger you to cut a promo threatening to "layeth the smacketh down upon me" and cause you to bother your mommy upstairs from your basement "apartment." Enjoy your breakfast of cheese curls, ding dongs and chocolate milk.
@@Rjensen2- Didn't like my reply? Did you run to mommy who told you to report it and get it removed? What a loser!
Sorry for the late video i uploaded it on time but it was on private... this one was on me, my bad?

Love those fast counts 😂
Wow... I see transition of technology...
Sup
I was at Cody beating Roman.
Flair winning in 1992 TWICE Wooooooooooo
