Jet Ski Trailer Converted To Utility Trailer (Removable Sides!)
They said a 5W diode laser cant cut acrylic..... some time ago I added a library to lightburn which had all the settings for different materials.... So I assigned the engraving acrylic to the cut layer and fired it off..... Well.... it went straight thru the 3mm acrylic lol In hindsight.... it was set to 120mms @ 100% 2 passes..... so yeah not that weird lol Will try these settings now
Alcohol dissolves shellac. Not the best finish for a shot glass.
Yes it does, that is why I only finish the outside of them. If I want to finish the inside, its epoxy only for me.
Hi how do I calculate how much epoxy I will need? I have countertops and looking at about 50sqft total, how many gallons would that equate to?
I follow the rule 3fl oz per square foot for each coat. Color coats may require 5-6oz per sq ft. Let me know if you need any other help! 🙂

I bought the Delta Cruzer with zero clearance last year. Complete game changer in my garage. Saves so much space. I'm thinking of buying the Wen to be my portable saw.
Dude this is like dejavu to me. This is the exact position I’m in. I’m thinking about returning the craftsman and getting this
Don't do it. I bought one of these about 9 months ago and used it maybe twice to cut a couple of pieces of 2x4's. About three weeks ago I decided to build an 8' work bench and it cut all of my 2x4's just fine. The next day I plugged it in and went to cut more wood and when I hit the trigger the blade locked up. I never could get it to turn and I did check everything that could have been wrong the blade lock for changing the blade was the first thing I checked. I tried taking the motor and gear apart to see what happened but it was so aggravating I just threw it in the trash and went and bought a Kobalt 10". I bought the wen because of its price but mostly because of it's zero clearance. I realized I guess that i just have to plan where I will use the Kobalt saw and since it will be for mostly small projects I can live with the slider moving back and forth. I believe now you get what you pay for.
comparing a 12" to a 10" wow
You should have a lot more views on this video. Ty for the info
Thank you, and you're welcome! Yea views never come easy unfortenatly.
Hello Adaptive, thanks for the demo. That drill has a nice short power head for getting into tight spots, I hope it lasts. Does it have a reverse function? Best regards. 🙃
Yes, it has forward and reverse. You're welcome! :-)
I don’t know why you didn’t turn the tenon on before you parted the waist off. 😳😳😳
I would like the Lightburn file.
I have the link to my etsy shop in the description below 😁
👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Supplied hex wrench is in the front right side of the slide bar. Are you going to do a video now that you've had time to use it?
Could have done without the music, thanks for sharing.
Treated wood?
Yes, I have had it for a couple of years, and it's starting to get a little Grey, so I'm gonna put bed liner on it top and bottom to extend the life of the plywood hopefully
Great idea!
Thanks! This is the handiest trailer i have ever owned hands down!
Informative video. Looking at my first lathe also. 👍🇺🇸
They are a fun machine to run! Good luck, and be safe!
I had a 32” marble round cut so I can make it into a lazy Susan for our table. Can you tell me how to attach the lazy Suzan hardware to the marble top?
I would drill out the holes for a masonry bit. Small ones. Or just use epoxy glue, and glue the hardware to it
Good job: I thought you were making a "Fish Bat?" I just bought a WEN, but I don't think mine has the digital readout? I'll use it for turning caps for powder horns in my business. God bless: Two Feathers Proprietor of: The Mountain Man Emporium
Yup my model is a variable speed with a read out. It helps alot for turning bigger stuff like bowls. They are a good lathe. Also, yes! That is a fish bat 😂🐠
Nice work! What's the size of the box? Looking to build one myself 😬
They float! Wow, great idea!
Thank you!
Hi i downloaded the file, thank you for the work. ! question, do i need to set the power by my self, because when i look in lightburn, all is set to 100%
Yup they will show 100%,but the properties have been changed for each image. If you preview the file, they should fade from lighter to darker. Thanks for the compliments, and the purchase!
Where did you get the file? Second, is this large enough for a human? How would you do the name and dates? Carve the epoxy? Nice job. love it!!! I have a close friend that she wants a butterfly urn and she has cancer. I am making her urn and came across your post. Really would like to purchase the file in a format that Aspire would understand.
Please consider editing this vid. We don't need to watch you screwing those two screws for so long and also change camera angle away from your back
It's hilarious how people feel they can express their annoyance then make requests for people to make concessions/alterations for them for absolutely nothing on content they aren't even paying for when it's being provided as a free information source on a product you may be considering a purchase on. I mean, you are already getting the benefit of someone else investing their time and money to purchase a product, taking the chance that it's junk so you won't have to AND being kind enough to make and upload a video of their experience all so you can decide if it is or isn't worth your hard earned money to do the same. If your time is so valuable that you can't sit through a bit of fiddling around, or God forbid, requires you to push a little button to fast forward through a section then I'd say you need to re-evaluate your perceived importance in this world. My guess is that your aren't quite as important as you believe you might be. If the maker if this video happens to see this comment, first...thank you for the info and if you wouldn't mind giving an update on how the Wen is performing for you. You mentioned in the video that you were going to do some testing and let us know but I didn't see another video on your channel about it. It would be great to know how it's holding up. Thanks!
Great video!
Thank you! Still using that lathe, and worth every penny!
Were is the file? Not free?
The file is on etsy. The link is in the description below, and not it is not free.
Buenas noches.. 😢 He visto tu vídeo donde grabas en acrílico transparente con la sculpfun s9 y no he podido. Además de grabar, quiero cortarlo. Podrías ayudarme por favor 🙏. De antemano mil gracias.
Good night.. 😢 I have seen your video where you record in transparent acrylic with the sculpfun s9 and I could not. In addition to engraving, I want to cut it. Could you help me please 🙏. Thank you in advance.
What is with the Disney font? This must be the undeniable proof that our lord and saviour Jesus Christ was just a Disney princess all along.
It's just a font that I found that I like called Remachine Script. Never noticed it looked like Disney 😅
Thank you, love the video and file from Etsy! How often do you have to repaint the metal plate? Or is that needed once it's been painted?
I usually sand it with 400grit, and recoat everytime for repeated results. After 2-3 runs, i sand the metal back to bare with 220 then 400 the repaint and carry on.
Great job buddy 👏 👍
Thank you! Still use mine to this day
Hi ! Great trailer. I am going to use a jet ski trailer as well. I am very interested in what you did under the trailer to attach the op part. I don’t have a welder so I want to do it all with wood and bolts . Hope you can let know exactly how you did it. Thanks very much, Bruce
Yea, being this trailer is galvanized, i just bought some 3/8" angle iron, and cut it to the width i needed, then drilled holes through the frame and bolted the brackets down with galvanized bolts. I did have to cut out some sections to slide of the frame of the trailer properly. Still loving this trailer though! Good luck!
@@adaptivediyers thank you very much for your quick and informative reply. That’s just what I needed to know !
@@snappa222 your welcome!
they look a little large for shot glasses
Haven't found any bits called flat bit. Maybe I'm not hearing exactly what you are saying.
Yea sorry about that! I was meaning to say straight bit 😅
I'm actually looking at buying this saw for some flooring work I need to do. Has it held up and do you think it's worth the money?
Should work pretty good for flooring! Seems to be holding up quite well so far. I've been making stuff from pallet wood, and 2x4s and maple paneling lately and it does a decent job. For the zero rear clearance aspect, worth every penny!
Same your post on someone else's channel and will ask you any issue with a 2 piece insert?
@@davidcorliss No issues with the 2 piece insert, although i would recommend making a zero clearance insert because it does collect alot of debris in the slot, but i have no issues when using it
I have this saw. Not bad. You have to align the blade. Mine was at 88 degrees. Dust collection in the bag is garbage. Connect a vacuum cleaner.
@@smartteve8612 How do you align the blade?
Y como corta el acrílico cristal?
Thank you very much!
Your welcome!
Hi! Could you help me please? What is the color of metal? and other videos says that it is necessary paint in black color the acrílic an then engrave it,
I just paint the metal with rustoleum gloss black, and I do not paint the acrylic. I place the acrylic on top of the metal and engrave.
@@adaptivediyers does it etch/engrave the paint/do you have to paint the metal each time you do a run (like if you were to do batches?)
@@sabrinavincent5770 I paint it every time
How has this been holding up
Holding up really good. I use it at least a couple of times a week.
@@adaptivediyers nicee, I'm going to be building the same thing for my atv out of my out seadoo trailer
@@woods702 you will not regret it! Lol! I use my for hauling sheet material too, and the people at home depot always ask if i need help loading. If i get the flat cart and lay the sheets on it, they slide right off and onto the trailer, then i just put the sides right on top, and ratchet it down. This trailer is the most handy thing ive ever built! Make sure to add tie down cleats along the sides so its easier to secure your loads.
@@adaptivediyers thanks I appreciate it
@@woods702 your welcome! Let me know how it works for ya, when you get it done and try it out 🙂
I got a Sculpfun S10 and I cannot cut or engrave transparent Acrylic. Do you know the difference between the S9 you used? Thanks
Any diod laser unfortunately cannot cut through clear acrylic. I have had excellent luck with cutting solid black, but only a c02 laser can cut clear. I wish is was different 😕
Also! If you would like to engrave clear acrylic, get a steel plate, paint it with rustoleum paint, then set the acrylic directly on top of the painted steel, and engrave. I have files on etsy to test the power and speed settings. Should be close to the s10 settings wise.
@@adaptivediyers thanks for your reply!! what color do you recommend for rustoleum paint?
@@hectorquiroz4803 I like using black, but you can also use white as well
It looks really good!
Was this cast or extruded acrylic, I have a 10w output laser and I found that on extruded acrylic regardless of speed or power there was always some cracking formed on the engraving. Haven't had a chance to try out cast since I wasn't too thrilled with extruded but I've heard cast is the way to go
this was extruded acrylic with a 5.5w diode. i have found that the metal underneath of the acrylic is everything. Weldable metal seems to work the best, because i if i try using galvanized, or stainless, it blows holes and cracks through out the piece. I also would like to try cast some time too! Also it helps to closely watch how well your z height is set to the metal under the acrylic. It is quite critical. Good luck, and thanks for watching!
@@adaptivediyers I used to use metal under the acrylic but have found that using black Bristol board under it works perfectly for me.
@@shaolinXtreme I'll have to give that a try! Thanks!
@@adaptivediyers Sure man let me know if it works for you my laser has a 10w output I found that the metal dissipates the heat quickly while the Bristol board doesn't so I can use less power to do a good deep engraving. there is some ash to wash off tho but it doesn't stain the acrylic.
@@shaolinXtreme good to know before I try it!
great video, thank you for sharing your technique. Is there a difference if I use a black primer?
I haven't found a difference between using the 2. Flat does give a little sharper image though
Too much noise nothing said about the product ...
What color did you paint the sheet and what paint?
I painted the steel under the acrylic flat black with rustoleum primer, then the laser hit that to engrave the acrylic.
Thank you! Great video. Thanks for the link too!!
Thanks, and your welcome!
What fo you use as filtration ?
I was using a 4" charcoal filter, but I ended up running it outside
Super 👽👍
can you cut acrylic? I tried to cut it but it melted, please guide
I can only cut black acrylic. You can not cut clear acrylic with a diode laser
- Shop your SCULPFUN www.sculpfunshop.com
Does this also work on glass?
I have to be honest, I haven't tried this on glass yet.
@@adaptivediyers It works on glass.
@@StephenSea That is awesome!!! Thank you for the feed back on that! Ill keep that in mind when i decide to start engraving glass once i have my equipment moved to the new shop.
