My first night in Bangkok ... for 32 $ CAD !
I stay on 136 street when I’m in Phnom Penh. Never had any problems. ATM.s take out $20…you won’t get 100’s then.
Hey man; just visited Phnom Penh after watching this video. Seems like you caught the worst of it. I stayed 4 nights in different parts of town; I will I can confirm the Riverside neighborhood is def the most sketch part but I didn’t have any problems; I couldn’t imagine seeing street brawls and a mugging, on top of the mid ass tuktuk driver. I stayed in the Russian Market area the most and one night in Riverside and everything was good. Anyway, take it easy
Yeah definitely need to go back and give it another go ! I did have some fun stories looking back though 😅
Welcome enjoy your stay!!
Thank you! Will do!
i taught your part of passport bro that trending on tiktok heheeh

Thanks 🙏🏼 tomorrow im dropping a new video i think you’ll enjoy it !
@@passportmarc Yeah! Cool beans
Awesome 😮😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Of course it is night and day in those area but those poorer areas are where the nicer areas will eventually expand and/or be gentrified! Philippines development is ongoing! Enjoy those areas while you can!
@@senseofliving4724 next Wednesday i visit an area just like it and had the time of my life ! Imo the people are kinder than in the BGC … note: I wasn’t in BGC that long but from the experience I had the communities are friendlier!!
its not overhyped since it's the only city in the country with that stature hahaha clean safe organize well planned
Haha 😂 everything in due time !
Try Makati, Ortigas, Filinvest, Eastwood, Rockwell, Asiana because they are as MODERN also. Don't be jealous because more are coming. Are you addict? 😊
WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES MARC, I KNOW YOUR A GOOD PERSON. WE FILIPINOS LOVE FOREIGNERS ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY RESPECT OUR COUNTRY AND OUR FELLOWMEN. AND WE FEEL PROUD IF THEY APPRECIATED OUR COUNTRY.
Thank you so much 😂
theres more to the philippines than just manila.
Obviously 😅 I visit Addition hills then Boracay … and there’s surely more to the Philippines than that also but we can’t visit everything in 1 go 😎

Welcome to PH! Your fellow Canadian Kyle Jennermann, a very popular vlogger living here who now has Filipino citizenship, has a home now in BGC too. Hope you enjoy your stay here. :)
Street folks like cute and handsome guys, especially girls. Hehe. Accept and embrace the uniqueness of the Philippines and stop comparing it to any of the countries you have visited so far, and everything will be fine.
I just wanted to say that while those people look like they're "poor" they're actually not, their houses might look shabby but the lot that their houses are standing on are worth millions due to the recent development projects in the area.
Oh certainly! Like in bangkok there’s places here growing bananas for decades but the land is worth millions due to recent train lines arriving etc ! Again not meant in a bad way just comparing visually 2 places across the road from each other.
Poor naman talaga until ma benta nila yung mga lupa. Hanggat di na bebenta, hindi magiging mayaman yung may-ari.
@@flufflybane Do you know what asset is?... Parang investment, at tumataas pa lalo yung halaga kada taon na lumilipas.
@@AngkatanNamwaran I think we have a misunderstanding here. I misunderstood your statement. I'm talking about people who live in slums that are near the areas that are being developed. Mahal na yung lupa nila pero hanggat di pa nila na bebenta, mahirap parin sila. Gaya nung kakilala ko. Wala nga pambili ng ulam minsan, pero yung lupa kung san yun bahay nila, sobrang mahal na.
@@AngkatanNamwaran Of course I know what asset is. I, myself own a couple of land here in Ph.
TO ALL FOREIGN VLOGGERS WE DONT NEED MORE NEGATIVE COMMENTS😕 WE KNOW OUR COUNTRY IS IN A BAD STATE😕 WHY ADD INSULT TO OUR INJURY😊 WE SPEAK ENGLISH AND WE LOVE SOCIAL MEDIA THATS WHY YOURE HERE DOING YOUR THING & LITTLE LBFM ON THE SIDE TOO😊 YOURE NOT HELPING US WE ARE HELPING YOU BECAUSE WE BECOME YOUR CONTENT😕 SO PLEASE SHUT UP & LEAVE😕
How is this negative content ? Maybe a bad choice of words saying the outskirts of BGC is less fortunate? I literally said that the mall is 100x more modern than any mall I have been to in Canada. I even said its better than most areas in bangkok. BGC is beautiful and so is the Philippines
In fairness to this vlogger, I don't think he said anything bad about our country. He actually seems like a really nice guy. I've watched other foreign vloggers who were really saying bad and unfair things. I think the worse I've seen was this British couple. Well, they didn't say anything bad in their vlogs, but in the comments section in their last video here, that's where they really turned nasty as they responded to the commenters, saying that Filipinos are uneducated, dishonest, disrespectful, etc. Perhaps they encountered some who are like that, but it's unfair for them to generalize.
@@latebloomer6671I love the Philippines, and the person helping with his channel is Filipina, she’s in these comments somewhere ;) you’ll all meet her in the next vlog - see you in boracay
@@passportmarc Great to know you loved the Philippines! :) We may not have the same infrastructure overall as Thailand and our food not as popular to westerners as compared to other Asian cuisine (though of course we Filipinos LOVE our own food so it's sometimes hurtful when foreigners say our food is bad), but we do have some of the most beautiful beaches and inland bodies of water here and many varied natural wonders (Chocolate Hills, Banaue Rice Terraces, Mayon Volcano, etc.). And most importantly, Filipinos love foreigners who appreciate our country. Hope you consider visiting Philippines often. :)
Oops. What wrong did he say? Nakakahiya masyadong defensive tayong mga pinoy. Takot lagi sa blunt comments.

Just concentrate your vlogging in Canada. More exciting there with your communist givernm
MARC I SEE YOU HAVE LOTS OF FANS THERE IN THE PHILIPPINES.
@@allanbalbuena6236 I love the Philippines ! Had i not spent 25 k on a Thai visa I would be seriously considering a move, or a least a more nomad lifestyle back and forth

@@KGnines thanks 🙏🏼
Of course, we're still belong to a 3rd world country that's why you can still notice the big contrast between the rich and poor but all of us Filipinos still wishing for the bigger development of the country. Anyway welcome to the Philippines 🇵🇭 bro . Hope you enjoy to stay here in the Philippines 🇵🇭
There's no such thing as third world country. That name has long been changed into "Developing Country" but Philippines now is considered in the category of a "Newly Industrialized Country". Although the gap or contrast between the rich and the poor of the country are very evident. Try to research.
@@honeybadger469 don’t go being like the western countries too quick ! I like the Philippines as is 😅 “All that glitters is not gold” … Canada may not be considered under developed but the silent depression of masses there is shocking.
Third World term was during Cold War First ( US led Allied Forces the capitalist, 2nd ( Soviet Union led Communist) and so called 3rd World are neutral not aligned to First and 2nd). Today Philippines is under developing country
I’ve gotten a few bad comments, to the people of Manila, Im just stating the wealth disproportion between some parts and the BGC is quite obvious, maybe the BGC is even too polished! Nothing but love ❤️ Next video I’m in Addition Hills ! Stay tuned 😎
You’re spitting facts though. In the Philippines, there’s not much of a “middle class” you’re either struggling or rolling in it. I live in Sydney, Australia but go to BGC, Makati, etc for a week or so every year for vacation and live the high life, do experiences, and bucket lists of activities I would not be able to afford doing in Australia 🤣
@@badboylimmy you're ignorant. There's not too many foreign tourists in the Philippines and the resorts keeping them afloat are local tourists. One foreigner complained that there are TOO MANY LOCALS in Boracay and not so many foreigners. If you happen to stroll around BGC, it's the same thing. Local people are the customers of the restaurants. Are you addict? 😊
@@badboylimmy there's a trend in Philippines that if a holiday fall in either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, they are transferred or moved to either Monday or Friday so people will go on a short 3 day weekend vacation around the Philippines. Are you addict? 😊
@@badboylimmy if you're updated with things in the Philippines, it's currently building 10 more BGC-like infrastructures. In other words, the rich enclaves wouldn't just be BGC, Makati, Rockwell, Filinvest, Eastwood, Asiana, Vertis North, Ortigas, etc but a dozen more. When it's all finished, Australia might look like 3rd world already in comparison to these new little modern cities. 😊
it's time the Philippines kickout ignorant foreigners.
I have the same thoughts about BGC. It's too polished. I still prefer to live in the province.
Ur promdi I'm sure that's why.
@@cesardeleon3036 Proudly. Used to live in mnl though. But my heart's at peace here at home. :)
Outside BGC are also expensive villages like Forbes Park, Dasmarinas and others where the richest in the Philippines live. You can't enter in many of these villages so it's not fair to say that the rest of Manila is slum 😊
Never meant it like that ! Just that the route and surroundings I got to see leading to BGC, the wealth disproportion is quite visible ❤
@@JoeyZee-vs4kr also the kindness people I found in the Philippines were in Addition Hills … that video is next ❤️
He's a s3xpat from Thailand, you cannot change his perspective. Where prostitutions and H!v cases are rampant 🤣🤣🤣🤣
True, most subdivisions in the Philippines are gated communities, this could range from ultra rich billionaire subdivisions to middle-class and working-class subdivisions... but because they are gated, non-residents are restricted from entering, just look at aerial view images of Metro Manila and you would realize that most people don't live in slums.
@@AngkatanNamwaran I have yet to visit any of these places, only makati, malate and BGC and boracay ! So much more to explore

More to come!
if you buy a sim card outside of the airport you can get unlimited data for around 200 pesos 🤣
Oh probably! 😂 just don’t like being without internet in a new country, but then again usually my rule #1 before flying out of BKK is get Airalo minimal package like 1 gig so the second the plane lands im connected but forgot this time ! Any shop you suggest to avoid the tourists prices?
@@passportmarc i usually grab one at a globe store at the mall, the vendors at the airports either arent aware of the better priced data packages or under instruction to sell only higher priced tourist packages so you always pay way more for way less, i just walked into a store and asked out of curiosity how much 30 days data would be and had a double take moment when he said it was either 200 or 300 total.
