Most people object to the noise of density more than anything else. Density is crazy-making. Problems erupt as it is with neighbors, never mind adding more. Plus people paid big bucks to be in a decent neighborhood.

It depends on whether or not there’s restrictions on if the owner has to live in the house, or if a corporation can own the whole property and make them all air bnb’s. The law should help residents not corporate CEO’s.

I recently vinyl sided an 1809 home, but left the original clapboards in place. The clapboards seemed to have a custom fitted edge to each of them, rather than just being placed one on top of the other. Do you know what this might be called? It made the connection between clapboards much tighter because they were still the original boards. I think it resisted the weather much better since they were over 200 years old.

Speak for yourself i and most people i know that have actually looked into the law think it is a good thing. Most of the panic is over misunderstandings. Most places that already have good zoning will see little change in their towns and the ones that don’t really should be required to pull their weight a bit more. We will never produce housing fast enough without zoning changes and density is far more efficient than sprawl. I proudly support this law

I am so Stoked about this. I grew up in a small manufacturing town in North Central mass. And my dad bought his house for 30 grand when he was 23. In The price of the house is 325'000 and it's a small cabin house. It's insane. And I've been wanting to stay near my parents with them getting old..STOKED❤

Beacon hill isn’t the oldest neighborhood, the North End predates it as does Charlestown and Dorchester.

If you're moving into one of the newer developments on Boylston St, make sure to reserve your freight elevator and loading dock prior to your move. If you're moving to an older building in the blocks behind Boylston, make sure to reserve a moving permit and tow zone signs from the city to allow your movers a safe, legal, and accessible place to park.

I lived in the Navy Yard around 1990. There were plenty of places you knew not to wander around in Charlestown. The movie The Town with Ben Affleck characterized it well. I wonder if things have changed that much since then or did this video just gloss over things.
