I didn't know what to expect but was very excited when a friend of mine told me about the largest artisanal market in Otavalo, near Quito. I wanted to check it out, so we took a 2-hour bus ride to the market and started exploring. This guy has no idea where he is. He passed Botero Plaza when he passed Veracruz Church. It was to the right of the church. He continues on into the gulch of the red light district. He then turns around and says it’s on the left, but he’s going to his right. He has no clue until someone grabbed his camera. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DON’T DRINK ALCOHOL DOWN THERE. Even though I took precautions, I still noticed someone following me, but was able to react.

Yep some places are nice to walk and it's safe , but one good tip , be aware of where you're going to not end up like I did.

I don't think it's affecting the Amazon that much, the body of water might not be at the same level as inthe rainy season but not that different.
