Richard was going a bit quicker than I was so took the long way around, luckily enough his sleeping mat didn't part company until our paths intersected

Dropped the KLR650 in the first 20 metres in the creek, luckily I could hold it up enough it didn't get drowned, but I needed Ricard's help to get it fully up right

Taking a T7 and KLR650 through Lightning creek, I didn't count them but supposedly 13 creek crossings one of which didn't go very well for me

KLR650 Camopig on Crooked River road
Looks like lots of fun 😊
Awesome videos! What happened with this build, did you continue this project?
Sort of, a few things happened which led to a lack of motivation to continue, multiple jobs I had to farm out taking way too long etc, it has got a little further but not as far as I'd like it to be, I'll probably do another one shortly regarding the fuel tank and mudguards I'll be using
Lucky you were not eaten by crocodiles.....
No Crocodiles that far South or that far inland, I was slightly worried about the two drop bears we passed earlier though
Awesome ride, where is this track exactly?
It's about 25 km before Mitta Mitta heading towards Omeo on the Omeo highway and about 10km long before it meets Razorback Spur, we went into Quart Pot from there and camped the night, which was about 20km from the highway
maps.app.goo.gl/vePt8hDG9dNnjybt7
Destroyed by the Suzuks.....mo surprises there......
Could be something in that, I saw a Beta X-Trainer get destroyed by a Suzuki DR125 on two occasions, so the Suzuki's obviously have it in them
i hate jap mororbikes plastic rubbish zunndapp 125gs perfect trails bike i love one german
Plastic rubbish that pretty much dominates most forms of motorsport and has for quite some time, unlike failed German manufacturers from decades gone by
15:59 Nice mellow ride. I am enjoying my morning coffee with.
Thank you, it was, there was no hurry and a good chance to enjoy the view
Where is the road on top of the ridge at 8:56?
That is the Track into Blue Rag Trig, it runs off Dargo High Plains road in Victoria
The motorcycle is not to blame for the riders mistakes.
Definitely not blaming the bike, we had spare time and thought we'd give those tracks a go, a better rider would probably do them ok, it was still a fun if tiring day
I know EXACTLY how that felt. Draining. Good on ya for uploading what many would not.
I dropped it on the way down as well, so did the other guy on the T7, steep and loose, we still had a good day
I would not want to pick that beast up
Probably about 200kg loaded with fuel, I was kneeling for so long because I was so tired at that point I needed a break
The KLR is not up to the task..
The bike was up to it, the rider was lacking, we'd already done 4-5 hours riding at that stage, we were getting tired
@@Kickaha83 My KLR is an antiquated turd. You will be left stranded at some point. Get something more appropriate and more durable. The KLR is little more than a grocery getter..
@@spencervidal3168 That bike belongs to my friend Richard who was further up the hill, I found the KLR better than I expected given the beating it was getting, I did 7500km on that trip without a hiccup
@@Kickaha83 Lucky you. Once it gets up in the higher miles I will begin to fall apart. There are much better bikes out there.. My KLR has been the worst bike I have owned in my 50 years of riding. I will be disposing of mine very soon.
@@spencervidal3168i think it does the job, cost 5500 and did a trip from melb to cairns and back. Way cheaper than if he hired a bike and no care give if it dropped. I have lent that bike to a few mates to do trips and no dramas at all. Better they enjoyed the ride rather than stress damaging it. For a cheap entry bike i would rate it fine. Can hook along at 150kph no probs at all.
Love the RMX
It was a good bike and I did a lot of riding on it. I sold it about a month ago as I just wasn't using it anymore
Did you do the 16t front sprocket change?
I actually have no idea what the gearing was on it, it was lent to me by a friend so probably standard
This is a good watch. I find comfort knowing not everyone rides fast.
Thank you, it was fairly leisurely as we weren't in a hurry and there was a third inexperienced rider with us
Excellent
Hello, what kind of GPS do ya have on there and do you recommend it? Thank you for posting!
Xumo XT, I found it very good for what I was doing, it is designed for motorcycle use
Those old PE'S..WERE really solid reliable machines..didn't see a whole lot of them because off road bikes were not sought after in those days.the mx technology was leaping in bounds from year to year back then.. and everyone wanted the new technology..and there wasn't alot of older dudes that grew up riding like there is now ..I k ow cause I am one those older dudes that ride now and that is what has created the explosion in off road bikes the last decade or so
Water cooling, linkage suspension and disc brakes came in around that time and the PE series got left behind, I also have a 1984 IT200 which is a far better bike
@@Kickaha83 yes I had a 1982 it 250 back in 85..it was a very strong and solid bike though heavy thr pe's and kdx models in the 70s and early 80s were tier 2 ..then around 83 or so the kdx was king for the test of the 80s...as far as Japanese off road machines are concerened..don't know alot boyt the husky though I do know they were considered the best. With Dick Burelson winning about 10 straight enduro championships in a row
Awesome old ride!
Where is this? looks like mcleans island somewhere but ive never been to this spot
Ashley river, near the Rangiora Airfield, goes up a lot further than that
cool thanks, ill check it out@@Kickaha83
@@Batman45025 Go down Merton road to the Airport, at the end of the straight turn left onto the stop bank along a bit then right down into the clearing, park up there and go around the end of the stop bank at the river end and head upstream, each stop bank you come normally has a track around it or a track off it
cool thanks@@Kickaha83
Enjoyed your video - thanks
I love that course. Great bike!
Quite simply the best Enduro bike that Yamaha have ever built (I may be biased)
Would you be quicker on a big block DR143? 😂. Great footage BTW !
Possibly as that bike is such a weapon
love my rmx250 so much fun to ride and the power is awesome!
It's been one of the best bikes I have owned, still a very capable bike even being 25 years old
@@Kickaha83 definitely Suzukis bikes aged beautifully and that’s always amazing to see with older bikes that can definitely still whoop a brand new 450💨
This is really cool thanks
I did it on a WR450 and it was hard work, couldn't imagine getting my old T7 up some of those climbs. ua-cam.com/video/tDcV2Tp1Rrw/v-deo.html
Someone tell him to stand on the pegs and lean forward to get up that stuff.
Hear that Richard, we better go back and you can try this and see if it works better 😄
I only did that to make you feel better
Hey there Warwick, looks like you all had a good day riding at Omihi, bet it's much easier on the body with the Beta nice plush suspension. Cheers Richard
It is easier to go faster but it makes me think I'm a far better rider than I actually am, suspension is good but still needs work I rode Mikes Beta 350 which has had front end work done on it and it was even better
That hill always has some carnage on it, gets cut up with a lot of those lovely tree roots getting exposed and all that soft soil.
Yeah by the 3rd lap it was getting much worse, he was one of the guys I was riding with so I couldn't really run him over
Well done, there's some challenging sections on that track, get a team together and head on over to the hut. Cheers Richard
That's already underway, there's a few victims quite keen
Hey there Warwick, ya have to love the electric start in this sort of terrain. Cheers Richard
I wouldn't like to do it without it, I was tired enough as it was
Good dive 😀
Hello to every one 👋 in KB teams. Greeting from West Malaysia here, loves wt what y'all doing ..many Thanks for keep them updated 👍🙌💪💪
Go the IT200 😁
Nicely done 😬 That’s fast for an IT200 🤣
Cool video, I had an air cooled RM250 in the early nineties. Wouldn't mine doing this one with my son, how do you access it?
Off the end of Toomebridge road, but here are tracks all along the north bank from the SH1 bridge up
Let me know if they doing a "Have a go" day , keen as! I'll come up!
CAMs club do it at the Southern Festival after Friday practice at Levels , November 25th
@@Kickaha83 15 minutes from my place, I'll be there for sure!
He is back!
Did about 3 hours on the bike, all good, weekend forecast is shit so might not do this one if the weather turns as it was muddy crap last time
Sounds crisp!
Normally does, however later on that ride it developed a miss, I'll try a new plug and flush the carb, last time with a similar thing it'd got water into the fuel
Good to see you back riding.
This was a few weeks ago before Geraldine, I have about 6 weeks before I am able to ride again
Just trying to work out what happened there, a lock up, but what happened to the green machine, lost his swinger?
Front locked and it flicked sideways, swinger had already gotten off green bike to check on the other swinger
Hey there Warwick, you got to see some cool shit, that dude that wiped out after looking back at you was funny, hate it when shit like that happens, aren't you supposed to use them and their bike as tracktion? Love the small vocabulary you have when riding, that was awesome to watch. Cheers Richard
I wasn't going fast enough to use him as a ramp, think he was looking back for his mates which were the group that passed us when we stopped to check on the young lady, then one of them went down
Nice upgrades! and none of them are irreversible. What's happening in the motor department?
I was always going to make sure it could be returned to stock if needed, in the motor MAP rods, 356 cam, probably 8.25-1 maybe higher, needle roller conversion, I have an alloy head, maybe a 30mm Mikuni, thinking a Pazon ignition but that may change
The mighty IT…. Good to see it still running strong 💪
It's my favourite bike, had it over 20 years
I just installed a Nova 5 speed on my Goldie and it’s working well! I considered the TT Industries box but wanted to preserve the original look.
I think we're lucky we even have two options to choose from, another factor I didn't mention was the TT Industries is a local industry
Which bit of your Dads bike are you keeping ?
Probably just the frame 😄
Oh yeah 32:40 I heard that just before your message appeared on the screen, have you had a chance to find out what went wrong. Love the on screen commentary. Cheers Richard
Not as yet, will be looking at it before Mt Torlesse this weekend or I'll be pulling out the RMX
I'd drained the carb and it looked like clean fuel coming out but when I actually too the carb off and removed the bowl there was water in the bottom of it, found a broken exhaust bracket while it was apart so it's on the RMX for MT Torlesse
@@Kickaha83 Hey there Warwick, that's good to hear an easy fix to get the mighty IT up and running again. Cool I'll keep an eye out for the RMX tomorrow. Cheers Richard
Hey there Warwick, the IT sounds nice and crisp looks like you old fellas are having a blast. Cheers Richard
Who are you calling old ? When I put pt 2 up you hear it running not so crisp by the end
@@Kickaha83 Oh shit did I say old I'm sure I meant to say young bucks, just watching your river crossing vid, what was the laughing about when you stopped. I look forward to watching part 2, dam that's no good not running crisp at the end. Cheers Richard
Guy I know with a Beta 300 X Trainer was just giving me the finger, he drowned his bike there on the first lap as did another friend
