Переглядів 780 тис.Рік тому
#jaws #resin #shark #themeg Welcome to the inagrual video for the channel. In the spirit of movie inspired art projects, I show you how to make a Jaws inspired Shark Diorama using polymer clay and a deep pour resin, including silicone mold making for the water surface. Or maybe it's MEG.....Let me know what you think in the comments. :)

    Anyone not using gloves to prevent fingerprints or smoothing their sculptures with rubbing alcohol to smooth the surface and blend details is cheating themselves. Also baking in stages will lock in details just be cautious not to bake too long or too high temp

    Hey, great video. Question tho. Ive been doing research online and im getting lots of mixed messaging. So out of curiosity, how many pours was this? Hard to tell from editing. Thinking of doing some resin related stuff and i keep hearing "dont pour more than 4 inches at a time and do multiple pours... blah blah". But it looks to me that you (as well of other youtubers ive checked out for reference/research) did one pour and hoped for the best. Since this project is kinda similar to something i have in mind for the future, any info you could give would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • @threethirtythree
      @threethirtythree 7 місяців тому

      Hello! I did do a single pour, but I used Blake from BM Sculptures approach, where I kept the resin in a temperature controlled environment to keep the temperature down to avoid an exothermic reaction. It took about a week to cure, and there was a bit of shrinkage, but one of the benefits of doing an inverted pour is that all that was on the bottom and easy to clean up. I'd recommend checking out Blakes video: ua-cam.com/video/Z5UJrqElR-U/v-deo.html Cheers!!

      @@threethirtythree thanks a ton for the reccomend. It answered a lot of questions I didn't even know I had. Great info. This stuff is just too expensive to go off and just "try and see" ya know? Almost too scared of things going wrong, especially after working my butt off on a sculpt. I never even considered something like a fridge. This is perfect. Really puts my mind at ease. Thanks again. You earned a sub 😀

      @@TheMonsterSculpter Appreciate it! I hear ya on the cost for resin!!! Fortunately during Canadian winter my garage was just about the perfect temperature so I didn't have to empty my fridge....but we'll see for next time. Cheers!

    Only 2 criticisms I have. First, the waves don't look realistic enough and second, the shark needs to have a bend in the body because they swim by bending their bodies left and right and adding a bit of bend to him would help indicate that he's swimming quickly upward to bash that tiny boat like some tiny sea lion snack. instead of just hanging motionless. Do as I say, not as I do! I probably would have made him straight too and forgot to add some motion indication. Other than that, pretty neat result! Oh, nice touch putting the actual text from the novel in there. I bet you could sell those no problem if you priced them so you're happy with the time and materials spent. Handmade and good is worth a lot. molds and photo copiers... not the same. Thx for the how-to!
