English BenchLand! Yep, another try in multilingualism.

Personal practice has demonstrated the ineffectiveness of the concept "three languages - one UA-cam channel", so attempt number two (or even three) opens a new channel, where videos will be exclusively in English. Let's go!

    14:20 - on Ryzen configuration the sporadic stuttering may be caused from a non optimized Hyper Threading setup. Just check the BIOS and the possibilities in your mobo. Sometimes, it's not the GPU side.

    This card performs just great on a ASUS Prime B550-M CSM (Corporate Stable Model), tested this week on Linux openSUSE Tumbleweed with Long Term Kernel 6.6. The only thing we really need is a decent control panel that is able to read Wattage and Temperatures. Default VBIOS fan settings are fine, just leave it as they are (trust Intel, they know what are doing). It's fundamental to have a UEFI setup with Resize Bar ON or Auto, CSM Legacy BIOS support must be disabled if you have also the extra integrated solution (Ryzen 7 5700G in my case) where you can balance with a interesting setup in terms of video ram shared (up to 16Gb otherwise it stays locked on 2Gb). That's why, a good basic CPU/APU, an excellent amount of RAM (64Gb ddr4 at 3200, Kingston Fury, in my case) and enough PSU warranty (Seasonic Prime series) it's a must for those cards. Actually on Linux, through the MESA 24.0.3 drivers, titles like Death Stranding (Steam Proton GE 8-33) go flawlessly at 60fps stable and some graphic glitches on the shaders post compile are still visible due to a non perfect translation from DX11/12 to Vulkan API. All Unreal engine and Unity engine games runs great, some can use the great proprietary Intel upscaling (Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed), others can go with AMD FidelityFX 2.0 just great (Quality presets) like in Deep Rock Galactic for example. It's just a matter of months now, things are improving via drivers in order to reach the full unlock of this hardware. Once people will realize that, prices on Amazon and co. will go higher (I hope not).

      @andreas2826 I don't think it's a PCI-E gen issue, in gen3 mode mine dropped ~2% productivity compared to gen4. Double check ReSize BAR, try actual WHQL drivers with clean install mode, these mostly cause all troubles from what I've seen.

    Great benchmarks, I'm subscribed in case you do more of these, I'm surprised how good the 13900K is at stock, it beat the overclocked 14700K with e-cores disabled 2 out of 3 games, and only loses in MW2 by 3%, without doing anything, btw, do you recommend gaming with e cores enabled? According to your charts It has better performance, I have no idea why people disable them!

      Well, some games do like and scale with e-cores, some not, it's situational. If I had it as a daily driver system - I would keep P+E anyway. I've paid for those, I don't want them being disabled :D

    Hello, I'm looking to build a new system and was set on a 14700k until I saw your video. I don't know much about the subject in general but I have always been told the 14700k would be the same or slightly above a 13900k, and extremely close to a 14900k in gaming(it also showed that in the benchmark videos I have seen such as gamer's nexus etc). However, your video shows that the 13900k (let alone if there was a 14900k) yields far better results in gaming both stock and oc? Sometimes even the 13700k shows higher avg fps. So now I'm a bit worried about my choice and confused. If you could help me clear it up, it would be nice !

    • @BenchLand-English
      @BenchLand-English 9 місяців тому

      It’s all about E-cores. Yes, 13900 & 14900 are generally better, cause there’s more CPU cache, but if you turn off E-cores - you’ll see these are 1:1, just compare 8p|0e results. 13700K vs 14700K is a different story, for sure if you can find older one with nice discount - buy it, 4e & cache are not worth it. However, I did not tested APO for now (14th gen only), so I can’t tell if it really works or just another bullshit marketing. So, if I were you - I would better seek for price cuts with 13700/13900 and put that money into GPU or something else. All these CPUs (even 13600) are overkill for general 240 Hz gaming anyway.

    • @mxmx225
      @mxmx225 9 місяців тому

      @@BenchLand-English I initially hesitated between the 7800x3d and the 14700k. But I didn't want to deal with amd stability issues and having "only" 8 cores, as I do a lot of multitasking on top of gaming (1080p 360hz). I got told a 14700k/14900k could yield the same performance as a 7800x3d (at 1080p) with good ram (7200+ a-die) and tuning. I got a 14700k for €399 on a discount. I was ok with the choice until I saw this video and like I said, it seemed so far from the 13900k or 14900k when on the other benchmark videos I've seen it was the same if not a bit better than the 13900k and very close to a 14900k all stock. On your video, it shows MUCH worse, which is worrying. Now I really question my choice, and if I could actually achieve that.

      You should keep your 13700K, refresh is not worth of it, unless you really need more cores for professional usage, or running lots of tasks in background. If so - go for 14700/14900, if not - do nothing.

      @@BenchLand-English I hope so... because it is the only card that can encode AV1 at less than 80W... the other card that can do it is a Quadra T1A (not to be confused with an Nvidia Quadro) with 20W of power draw but is for servers and that one costs 1500 usd... The thing is that I need to use it in a old Lenovo server TD340 that has 80W limitation in the pcie and no rezisable bar... the other option is a Nvidia Tesla P4 but only can code in h264.

      Actually, it's not. Intel DG1 can do AV1 as well with 35W TDP + passive cooling. At start it was pretty useless and buggy, but now it can be useful in specific cases. RAW productivity is near GeForce GT 1030 or Radeon RX 550.

    • @BenchLand-English
      @BenchLand-English 10 місяців тому

      Hi. For safe - I think the easiest way would be setting 1.3V on CPU and see if it throttles under heavy load, like LinX. Just make sure you're not going higher than 85 or 90°C on CPU after like 30m load (you need 10-15°C reserve for hot summer day, otherwise you'll hit throttling). If it's not - set lower voltage or increase your AIO fans+pump speed. Then push all cores with no AVX offset and find your maximum "safe" OC for your exact CPU specimen.
