Had to try a capsule hotel since I don’t have the hubby and kids with me. It is very comfy and relaxing. They give you jammies @ slippers to use, toothpaste & toothpaste. The capsule also has a sound machine.

Hello! My family will be moving to San Diego early next year and are considering the Village at Sierra Mesa. I have a few questions that maybe you can answer. How long were you waiting for housing? How do you like the area? How has your experience been so far? Any insight would be awesome.
Hello! We signed up for housing in June. We were notified at the end of June that we would have at the end of August. We rate a four bedroom but at the time they only had 3 bedrooms. So that’s what we picked, since we couldn’t be picky with a dog and we needed a home. The area is pretty centralized, I do love that. We haven’t had any issues, people keep to themselves. Parking is a pain, especially if you want to have guests over. The housing office has been good, maintenance responds pretty quickly.
@@icelacastillo7222 thank you so much for responding. I appreciate it. We are on the wait list for Murphy Canyon but that list is so far out and so I'm considering Serra mesa as a backup. We also have a pet so that limits our options. I'm glad to hear that you're liking it so far. 😊 It gives me some hope lol

You mentioned that you lived out in town. Are you able to provide some pro/cons to living on versus off base? It looks like you can get some bigger places off base, but I get the feeling that living off base, there is the potential to be almost isolated from other military families. I only say this based off the minimal stuff I have found and seen online. Thanks for the video! These youtube tours of the different houses have been the most helpful in answering some of our questions and painting a picture as to what housing is like on the island.

Great video Icela Castillo. I am an E-7 with a rather dumb question. Since I will be moving to Yuma soon and I am single, correct me if I am wrong, but I do not qualify for this type of home, right? I would have to look into the SNCO barracks or off base, I believe. Thanks again for the video, at least I have an idea of what they look like on the inside.
Adam, unfortunately you would not get base housing. Depending on your command, you would live out in town. Good Luck
