Sir thank you so much, you just helped me moving my tv to the right! All this time I thought that they glued this mount so it won’t move at all. Thank you and be safe out there.
@@RomJ15 No problem at all. You stay safe as well.
In the hotel for orientation do they give you your own room or do you gotta share a room with others in orientation
@@justinmccullough2265 When I went through, we had our own rooms.
Thank you for being informative
How much experience u have to have they told me a year experience
@keronackles8327 That's correct. Sometimes it drops to 6 months, but only if they really need drivers.
You Rollin with them now
@robertwilliams5475 Noooo, I left there in 2021. Was one of the worst decisions I made. They mess up home time, send you to pickups that haven't even been scheduled so you have no load, all kinds of crap. You basically never make more than your guaranteed minimum.
How did you get the mount to flip to the right like that ? I have the same truck & maintenance swear it doesn’t move
@TierraKOfficial Pull down on the black strap and pull on the mount. It locks in to the left and right side.
Do theg run the west coast?
@@biggame2175 Sometimes we do. It depends if we're running certain accounts or if we're doing the load board.
@@shadowtrucker210 that's what's up. Dry or reefer?
@@biggame2175 We run both. And we can dispatch ourselves if we want to.
@@shadowtrucker210 that's what's up. Sounds like a good deal.
@@shadowtrucker210 do they have a board or they use load boards?
Self dispatch? Load board? What are weekly deductions?
So if you took truck payment and maintenance and bonus out you would have took home 1900 then have to take taxes out of that.
No, only the bonus would be part of the taxed income. The truck payment and maintenance can be written off at the end of the year when you file. It's all separated on the 1099.
So you are saying that I am correct if you had your truck payment and maintenance and no bonus your check would have been 1900 then paying taxes on that 1900. If you aren’t paying yourself as an s-corp you are paying too much in taxes. I looked into their lease purchase look like a scam. Would make more as company driver.
@melvinkeller1466 Yes, I was reading it wrong the first time. My company is an S-Corp. With RTI, I just ran it as a flow through instead of W2 though. The only part that's a scam is the maintenance. You pay into it but can't pick things that you want fixed/changed, and you don't get your money back even if you never had repairs done.
@@shadowtrucker210 to me the pass trough doesn’t make sense if you pay yourself on w2 you leave $ in the company to invest in future no Medicare or Ss comes out of it just corporate taxes. But would talk to a CPA before I decide anything
@melvinkeller1466 You are correct. But I have VA Healthcare for life and disability. So, for me personally, those aren't a worry. For people that don't have those, W2 is definitely the way to go. You can save like an extra $10-15k/year. If you have a really good CPA that's knows every little thing that you can write off, then you can actually get money back on taxes. I filed my own last year when I was doing pass through, and I got back like $8k. This year, my CPA will be filing everything for me. It's good you're thinking ahead for all of this. Most people don't, and they get screwed which is part of the reason I made these videos. This way, people can ask questions, and I can give them any info that I have figured out.
Do they have driver-facing cameras? Thanks.
Nope
@@shadowtrucker210 Thanks for the reply.
Wow, $4,200 a month and you are still making money?
Yes sir. There are weeks where I have a negative check because I have no loads since I'm home, but it's right back to positive the next week. Apart from the negative pay, the lowest check that I've had was like $500. The highest was a little over $3,600. On average, it's about $2k a week take home.
Surely, overloading your trailer leading to a violation should penalize the shipper or company?
It should, but it wouldn't. The ticket would be written to the driver for hauling it. The company would just get points added to their CSA score.
You left about a year to late… kudos to you though! That company sucks and Clint is a big back bit**
Been wiating on you to drop another video. I left a while back the oay was trash. They are blowing me up now to come back and do LP. I opted to not go back
Oh I know it. They might be paying decent, but when they dont have the miles for their drivers its pointless. Good choice on staying away, especially from the LP side.
I use to see you all the time at Owensboro when I ran local. I left because of stupid stuff and sitting around. After leaving I saw a steady decline and seems they are struggling to stay afloat.
Oh yeah, if I was waiting on a load, having service done, ir doing a 34, I would go hang out with the DM's to kill time. They really are struggling now. If you follow some of the driver pages on fb, you'll see all of the crap that they're dealing with.
Yoo I'm happy tour moving forward. Push forward bro.
Thank u for the video. Im new to the trucking world im currently taking my permit class. But in the meantime im very curios about everybodys sleeper setup 😊
Not a problem. I actually have a video of my whole truck setup on my channel if you are interested.
Do you guys drive Manual or automatic
Automatic
why on earth would they leave off the johnson bar. omnitracs is also pretty godawful.
Are you still with Rti
No sir. I haven't been there since Oct.
I got a airfryer toaster oven and when I run it alone, it trips the power inverter what should I do to keep it from cutting off?
Check the power of your air fryer. It might require more power than what your inverter can handle. If it doesn't require more power, then try running your truck while you're using the air fryer.
So if a truck doesnt have an apu , and your in newyork or places that doesnt allow you to idle trucks... How do you keep you warm?
Texhnically, you can't. Even though the trucks are certified clean, they're still not allowed to idle either.I couldn't figure out any way around it, so I just took the risk. If I would have got a ticket, I would have fought it.
If i take a home daily, would i have an assigned truck or is it just what ever truck available?
They're still usually assigned. I can't remember when RTI has done slip seating.
I have a question. I applied with landair , someone said on a UA-cam video that you have to drive a manual for the road test, is that true?
Nooo. That was probably the case back in the day, but I did my road test with them in 2021, and we all did it in an automatic.
@@shadowtrucker210 thank you :)
@@shadowtrucker210 I haven't driven a manual since my state test and I wasn't great then... Good enough to pass... Since then I have been in an automatic... So I was a little stressed thinking I was going to have to take a manual and practice for a minute lol
@norahensley4556 You should be just fine. I'll be surprised if Landair brings back autos.
Does RTI hire ex felons
That's on a case by case basis. They'll look at your background and maybe talk to you before making a decision.
@@shadowtrucker210 thanks for the information
What messaging program they use with the geotab
They use an app called godriver. It was made for RTI.
@shadowtrucker210 is it private or onbthe google play store for android users
You still at RTI
No sir. I need to do a video about it.
I got orientation Monday and I’m on dedicated Sonoco
Any idea what 24 inch tv works best with this factory mount that is already in place. 24 inch is fine with me, just need to find the correct tv that can be mounted like this and the bolt holes line up as well as the right screws to secure it. I can’t find this information anywhere. Thanks for any help you can give
Most TVs will fit the factory mount, especially if they are 24". So you can just buy one that you like. Just make sure that you get the correct screw size for your TV if it doesn't come with them.
I heard alot of smaller companies are on hiring freezes and freight market is still drowning. Any hope for a turn around and any changes yet?
That is still the case, sadly. Last I checked, it's supposed to be sometime around fall before it picks back up. I'm hoping it picks up this spring. The holidays usually cause freight to pick up, so it's odd that it's still so bad right now.
@@shadowtrucker210 thanks for the response and your time. I just crunched all the videos you had for research lol. I've been out of the industry for a year but sadly the job I have is not enough and was looking to get back in.
@cloudriider5292 It used to be a damn good job. So many drivers have quit within this last year though due to lack of miles.
Any update on how shitty RTI is as a company???
It went so far downhill that it isn't even funny. They changed too much too fast. I'm going to do a video on it within the next 2 weeks.
Hey can we get an update on how shitty this company is?
With all due respect as a fellow trucker you are the biggest baby …man the yell up!!! This video should be titled “poor me” but to be fair maybe I complain a lot too that’s why it’s so obvious when I watch you.
Heard RTI ran that youtuber Brittney outta their....what's up with that ?!?
They started giving shit miles to drivers and weren't adding any extra pay to compensate the drivers for it, so a lot of drivers have left. They are losing drivers just as quickly as they can bring them in if not faster.
How u liking RTI man
It has gone so downhill this past year. I just had my contact terminated over stuff that doesn't even matter.
Hows things going man? Still parking lot pimpin at rti?
Yeah, I'm still here. It's been a bit rough these past few months since freight is down. I'm almost 2 years into this lease though. Gotta try to finish it out so I can start making more money and work on getting another truck.
@shadowtrucker210 too many drivers out there causing a lack of loads and crappy pay. When you say "another truck" do you mean a 2nd one or just a fresh one?
@kylestallings570 Oh know it... and companies just keep hiring more and more drivers like that is going to help. I mean a 2nd truck. I plan on having my own little fleet of like 4 or 5 trucks that I'll run under RTI. This all depends on how the market goes over these next few years though.
I have a 41 inch mounted on the vent. I swung the oem bracket out of the way.
I explained to another driver how to do that, and that's what they did as well. If I get a bigger TV, then I might do that. The arm makes it easier to get under my bunk if I need to get stuff.
Thanks for the demo on the trailer breaks and the information on RTI.
Be real with your viewers man! RTI has went to 💩, they took the Wi-Fi to cut down on costs, but yet and still they feeding those fat a s s folks in KC EVERY Friday! Freight is slim and only the people who are yes men and women get loads. Ppl are quitting that place every single day… just look at all the returned trucks at the terminals. That company is a fkn joke. If you won’t be honest… I WILL😎
I suppose to start this August u think I should come
Don’t do it, I just left them. Unless you like being robbed by a company
@@erikwilliams956what was your experience? Were you l/p or company?
@@kylestallings570 i was LP, started out great! Getting good miles and pay for about 6 months. Then I was given crappy loads with too much time on them and they denied me any type of compensation pay for those loads. And God forbid you turn a load down… you’ll sit for days. All in all just try to avoid getting Clint as a dispatcher… his fat ass sucks as a dispatcher
So is your settlement still good
Star has merged into LandAir since Covenant purchased LandAir. Covenant owns all of those
Star has terrible reviews everywhere… is still a bad company out of Miami?
@@DeadlyRealityTV hey, so there is a red star and a blue star that people get confused. The blue one is out of Nashville and is owned by covenant in Chattanooga but that’s the one that’s merged into landair. I’m not sure about the red Star, idk anything about them
@@db6800 ahh okay. Since I’m from Miami, the red star is the one im trying to do my homework on. Thanks 🙏
@@DeadlyRealityTV I gotcha. Wish I could help you on that one but idk anything about them other than they exist and you see them on the road obviously but don’t know anything about their internal stuff. Covenant bought the blue Star back in 06, but when they purchased LandAir a couple of years ago, they’ve been merging Star into LandAir since it’s a bigger company. Star’s President also retired after decades and they have a new guy that took over so I’m not sure how that change is going
@@db6800 interesting I’ll do some research on covenant too. Do you recommend any company’s for someone fresh out of school? I’m about to graduate and I’d love to haul fuel but it seems it requires atleast 1 yr experience. I was thinking doing OTR for swift for a year and taking my chances with another company after. Is that a good idea, you think?
Are you still driving for landair?
Noooo. I thankfully left them and went to RTI.
@@shadowtrucker210 I’m going to work with them but home weekly, will I get like &1200.00 after tax ? And are they still taking a PTI video?
@emmanuelgianni5112 It all depends on what they say they are going to pay you and how many miles they can get you. What is a price video?
It's kinda funny to see some drivers don't know about the new trucks. they turn there selves on if power is low so you can run your ac and electronics all you want without wasting as much fuel ⛽️
If you have an APU, it will turn on. If you don't have an APU, then you have to have the truck set to opti-idle. Otherwise, it won't start. Some people have never been in one without an APU, so they have to learn it.
What’s a good paycheck?
Do they hire felons
I have no idea. I left them like 1.5-2 years ago.
How do you charge the batteries?
The truck batteries? The opti idle turns the truck on if power is getting too low.
Where you at man. Been a while
I'm still alive and kicking. Still working like always. The company hasn't been giving me anything to put out. I've asked for some information and they won't give it to me so I can put it out. I might just do some repair videos or something.
Should I go with a different company because I'm thinking of going with this company or should I go with werner
Stay away from Landair. Stay away from any companies that are owned by Covenant Transport. They are more trouble than the money is worth.
