      When you say ‘God is a plural,’ what do you mean by that? Are you referring to terms like ‘Elohim’ in the Bible, or do you have something else in mind?

    Many don’t realize that every commandment is made to keep US healthy and safe. They’re not restriction AGAINST us, rather, survival instructions FOR us. God said : Don’t work 24/7 365. Take one day off a week for SURE!! And people think of it as a demand. What a demand right?

    Do a sermon on judges 18 and 19 verse by verse. I dare you.

    • @AustinWDuncan
      @AustinWDuncan 27 днів тому

      I’ve had the chance to teach through all of Judges verse by verse a few times (including chapters 18 and 19). It’s one of my favorite books in the Bible because it exposes the depth of our brokenness and it highlights the need for both God’s justice and mercy. Since you mentioned Judges 18 and 19 specifically, I assume you’ve read those chapters, but just for anyone who is reading this who may not have read them..Judges 18 shows us a tribe that abandons God’s calling, embraces idolatry, and steals both land and false religion for their own gain. It’s a reminder (albeit a tragic one) of how quickly we can drift when we choose convenience over obedience to God. Then, in Judges 19, we see the consequences of rejecting God’s leadership. The events in Gibeah parallel Sodom’s wickedness in Genesis 19, showing that without God’s objective moral authority, we can descend into complete depravity. Even though these chapters can be deeply unsettling in the way that they confront us with the reality of sin-they also remind us why we need God’s justice, mercy, and redemptive work. I believe passages like these aren’t meant to leave us in despair but to drive us to the hope we find in Christ.

    Don't forget what God said in His sermon ("Sermon on the Mount"), His children will be peacemakers. Check the Fruit of the Spirit; to be at peace, one must be filled with His love and His joy, first. THEN you will be in His Family.

      Thanks for your comment! While living in God’s peace and love is part of our journey as believers, becoming a child of God happens the moment we believe in Christ as our Lord and Savior. His grace is a gift-simple, powerful, and available to all who trust in Him.

    Gospel driven obedience means that we only worship one god. Not two not three. One god. Hence we should look to Jesus as a teacher and prophet but not worship him as god.

    Rescued from slavery. You know one of the most fascinating principles in law about freedom is that a man cannot truly be free unless he has a power to enslave himself. The law of Moses also known as Mosaic law was the basis of common law. Essentially if you did not hurt anyone, destroyed with property, or take away he wants freedom like enslaving them, you do nothing wrong. In any case, there was always a damaged party. In the United States supposed to can spend over a decade in prison for driving under the influence. A person can have fines applied, money taken from them and be imprisoned in a cage if they refuse to pay for not having a seatbelt. These were very controversial when they came out for one simple reason. There is no damaged party. Now it has gone far beyond click it or ticket. It is gone far beyond the punishment of lack of freedom for being civily disobedient like a f****** dog or an uppity slave. Now you too can be enslaved for having your own child, which is really The State's child, have an alcoholic beverage when he turned 13. Obviously they have to be in possession of it to drink it. People forget how quickly this happens. It only takes a few decades before how things were or forgotten. It makes me wonder, you can read the book, but what do you really know about freedom?

    • @stevet5379
      @stevet5379 Місяць тому

      You obviously mean Mosaic Law, not masonic law. The law God gave through Moses was given by the One who became Jesus Christ! Yet in coming to the earth Jesus revealed much more about this law-presenting the fullness of grace and truth (see John 1:14). God's law was given to mankind for humanity's own good and benefit (Psalm 94:12; Psalm 112:1). As Christians we are under the new covenant made possible by the birth of Jesus. So all of Moses's instruction matters but only through the person of Christ. That is, none of Moses-none of the laws-are directly binding and guiding for Christians, but all of Moses's laws guide and direct us through the person of Christ. Romans 6:14. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

    • @AustinWDuncan
      @AustinWDuncan Місяць тому

      Well said. It’s fascinating how the law, including the Ten Commandments, reveals God’s desire for order, justice, and flourishing. This short is from a longer video in series on exploring how the ten commandments are not merely about external behavior but about aligning our hearts with God’s character. What stands out to me in the first commandment is how God roots His demand for exclusive worship in His identity as Redeemer: 'I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery' (Exodus 20:2). It’s a reminder that true freedom isn’t about rejecting all authority but living under the authority of the One who redeems and restores. Jesus builds on this when He says, 'If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed' (John 8:36). The commandments challenge us not just to think about what freedom means in a societal sense but to consider where our ultimate allegiance lies. In light of Christ’s fulfillment of the law, this becomes even more profound-it’s not just about rule-following, but about living in the freedom and grace He provides.

      @AustinWDuncan I believe there is more to it then just attend. Standard King James Bible has 759 commandments, statutes, and judgments. And they are for good reason. The idea behind the land Sabbath prevents deforestation as well as renutrients the soil. There's a reason why you're supposed to let the food drop and rot. You're not supposed to have an unjust weight of balance on you or in your home. And unjust way to balance isn't a $10 American old versus a $10 Mexican note. They both 10, but which one can be treated for more? They're also guaranteed promises by God for those at practice what he says in his word. Things like, rain and due season. Growing multiples of gold and silver. But seriously, that was taken away from us long ago. And we got them to the unjust weight and balance system. There is so much more, but I'm not going to get into that rant here. I honestly don't have time. It's all in one book, but most of those who carry it don't bother reading it. I think what at largely comes down to is Matthew 6:24. You can't serve two masters. God will judge, but The State will punish first. So it is The State which is followed. Even the children belong to The State now. Those for whom are the parents are merely the stewards for. If The State (or more accurately, those that operate under the name of protection of) finds you unfit, armed men (who also work for The State) will take your child from you by force.

    There are so few kind and loving Christians. I wish people would all themselves something else if they don’t believe in kindness and compassion. For example, if all the Christians in America set up a fund for the homeless to be housed , there would be no homeless people.

    • @AustinWDuncan
      @AustinWDuncan Місяць тому

      It’s true that kindness and compassion should be at the core of who we are. I think about Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus talks about serving ‘the least of these’ as if we’re serving Him. Even small acts of love can add up, and it’s encouraging to think of what we can all do together.

    • @Martinbeef

      @ Yes, I totally agree. When I go out I always making a point of being kind where it’s needed. It may be just a smile to someone who is having a bad day, or telling a nurse how much she is appreciated for her hard work. If we all did this, the world would be so different.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I agree that honoring the commandments is important, and that includes striving to keep them out of gratitude and love for God. At the end of the day, none of us can keep the commandments perfectly, but that's where grace and the gospel comes in. It's a gift we respond to, not something we can earn. It really is amazing how that grace encourages us to live faithfully as we grow in our walk with Him.

You told us to search for the way and we will find the Truth (a hard thing to deal with) and then you will give us Life again. Please let your children know "who they are, where they came from, what they did to get here, and finally, where here is". I pray this in your mighty name "JESUS of Nazareth", Amen.
