There's a bit of Sonic-ness with Zardonic tracks I must admit. Sonic music actually goes quite well with Redout 2 tracks too! See: Crisis City with Tartarus Mines, and Flowing with Caribbean Dam

huh there's a lot of ship variety in your online lobbies, I'd think the game would have a stricter meta, but people fly the ships they like my favorites are the buran and the wallace and it seems they're all viable
The thing about meta ships is that they're only really viable for time trialing if you don't make mistakes. People online like to use the ships they like with parts more geared towards adaptability, combat, mistake-forgiveness, and what they prefer. Sometimes just being consistent with your favored ship is more powerful than using an overpowered ship loadout. The common advice is to go for what you prefer and only worry about meta ships when competing at the top level. The game is quite nicely balanced, especially with all the part combinations

This looks freaking cool. Is there some sort of gliding mechanic there on some of the jumps? It looks like some controlled float or something happening.
It's very cool! I recommend at least giving the demo a try. There's no pitch control. Just left and right and throttle/brake. The game recommends taking flights in a straight path, though interestingly you accelerate when you steer midair (look at the speed bar at the bottom). There's no perfect landings. The speed penalty upon landing is incurred from how high you fell from. Honestly the game is just missing online multiplayer to justify its base price (does have local multiplayer though and you can verse ghosts of anyone on the leaderboard)

Why do you rotate your ship sideways when flying ? I've seen you doing it multiple times but never someone else. Is this a habit that you developped or is this really helpful in those very hard jumps ? Also, wp, this run looks so fluid, and strangely slow, because i know for a fact that it's ABSOLUTLY NOT, kinda like watching f1 cars...
Thank you! That's called a "rolldive." It's been popularized recently by Etiketi. It helps you land faster by using your strafe while rotated. It's more efficient than pitching down as all your boost power is directed forward instead of it being shared between forwards and downwards. You can think of it as a faster way to slip through the air. It can be used on a lot of landings. It's especially useful here as the killgrid has been moved closer to the bridge. And yeah, runs like these are quite mesmerizing when you don't hit any walls. I like to watch them back a lot haha

@@dandy_is_lion ahhhhhh damn that's clever. I'm a new player and sometimes get annoyed when I can't get back to the track on a jump because pulling down is so slow and clunky. I'll have to start doing that, and turn off the roll assist on jumps too. Last assist I still had on.
@@varyagace First off, welcome! Feel free to join the Redout discord in the description. We're a friendly bunch that love helping out new players. Secondly, I'm glad you're turning off assists! It's a common trap to get used to them. With them off it can be scary and daunting to manage all the mechanics. Take your time and you'll be rewarded with a very satisfying sense of control over your ship. Almost all jumps can be made by managing up to two things at once. Rolldiving is an advanced mechanic developed by the community, so don't feel bad if you don't get it right away
