The contrast of red lipstick against brown skin is absolutely stunning, I don’t care what they say, I wear my red lipstick every chance I get. I have red in all shades, bright red, orange red, dark red, blood red, brick red, brown red, blue red, hot pinky red, I wear them all, and my skin is the color of copper and red looks amazing on me, not as good as it looks on you, lol. I don’t know who came up with this ridiculous rule.

You are not alone sis… My story is very similar…. The difference being my daughter started me to watching makeup tutorials on YT. And she stopped and I continued on and began purchasing everything the influencer said she/ he used, even somethings that was not suitable for my complexion. I just went overboard and now I’m trying to sell all the things I don’t ever use. So you are not alone sis. Been there 2013 to present day. 🙏🏽🤣🤣🤣

I loved your transparency in this video - thank you for sharing strategies that worked for you but also acknowledging that everyone operates differently and the importance of finding a personalized approach! I agree that a no-buy would not work for me (I really admire those who do it!). Instead, I have a running wish list of makeup and any relevant discount codes that are available. I make sure I am signed up for email updates from brands I love, and wait until either a sale occurs or the item is low stock, at which time I evaluate over a few days whether I really love it and if it unique or fills a gap in my collection. I watch UA-cam reviews to better understand the performance of the product. I will say - most makeup does eventually go on sale, so I am making a concerted effort to play the long game in 2025. For example, if a brand releases a winter palette, if you wait until summer, it may go on sale. Also, a lot of brands reformulate and rerelease, in which case the original formula will go on deep discount or end up at T.J. Maxx or Marshall's. I hope some of these suggestions are helpful! :)

After losing my job I had to learn how to not chase After the new makeup and skincare products also After watching UA-cam for over a decades I'm just starting my own channel using the makeup I already have and so I am glad that we have person like you talking and the topic.

Love your makeup look especially the red lip! Your brows look really nice. My brow game is weak lol. Live and learn. When you know better you do better. Same for me following trends that were inappropriate for me listening to influencers. Great tips!

You sound like you’ve got your act together. I’m in the process of reorganizing my makeup and I’m seeing everything with fresh eyes. Lately I only am interested in new foundations (always searching for that perfect canvas) and a beautifully edited eyeshadow palette. This has really reduced my spending. And yes, if Mother comes out with a new Mothership I’ll be living on her website until the gate opens 😂

I did a super low buy last year and now I have a much better sense of what works for me, how long it takes to use products, and for some categories (mascara, powder, bronzer and concealer) I have a reliable one or two products that I’m satisfied with! I have the most fun experimenting with eyes and lips, but everything I own fits in a dresser drawer! I go through everything I own and see if I can dupe a product Im interested in, and usually do 😂 I pass along makeup and beauty products to a few local friends (one very pale one closer to your skin tone) if it’s something I think would work better on them. I’m much happier with less stuff and still have a good variety 😊

Afterpay is awesome but yes one must be careful! I’m a pharmacy technician and being on your feet all day is no fun! Comfy shoes are a must! Great tips in here especially the free shipping! Definitely have to re evaluate my shopping!
