Struggling up moderates since January 2021.
My boulder buddies and I have started filming sends more regularly and we often reference beta videos when we project. So we're paying forward some of our sends.
Most videos will be of climbs that were difficult for us at the time. I've found that beta videos where the climber is near their limit can be more useful than watching a bonafide monkey float up.

We will always list the climber's metrics in the video description and some beta tips / unlocks we discovered.

Little Guy Boulder (Vb - V4 FA) - Tall Beta: Lake Tahoe Bouldering [Pfiff]
Little Guy Boulder, Humbug Mountain, Lake Tahoe, CA
Climbs listed below in order they appear in the video. As far as I know all are FAs.
Little Guy Warmup 1 - V0:
- Stand start on a right side pull/pinch and a left side pull crimp on the right side of the boulder. Trend left as you climb up.
Little Guy Crack - V1/2:
- Sit start the crack on a sloper and climb straight up.
Big Squeeze - V2:
- Sit start just left of the previous problem in compression between two slopers. Climb up the feature without touching the rock to the right of the large crack.
Don’t Forget Your Skis - V3:
- Sit start with right hand in the super thin seam crimp and climb straight up to a tough mantel on slopers.
Little Guy Warmup 2 - Vb:
- Sit start on the far left on a left edge and right on a sloper rail. Climb right on bad hands and massive feet until you can mantel on the hidden jug in the seam.
Tepid Traverse - V4:
- Start on “Don’t Forget Your Skis” and lip traverse further left finish the same as “Little Guy Warmup 2”. A lot of climbing for such a lowball, but awkward moves in places.
Climber stats: 6'4" (+5"), 200lbs
Maximum boulder grade at time of video: V10

It was critical to get that sloper as a sort of upside down palm press meathook thing to do the big dynamic step up. Roundhill Clump, Roundhill Areas, Lake Tahoe, CA Despite being contrived (flake is off) I thought this climb was pretty good. Cool moves, lots of solid crimps to grab, and a good level of challenge. Allegedly Johnny Dawes had a multi year project where the entire climb was literally just "establish in this position" and was around V11. Not sure if it's real.

Great videos dude! I'm the same dimensions as you(25lbs lighter tho, trying to get to 190) and was wondering if you had any generalized advice for taller climbers, I stretch every single day but its still hard to break out of v5.
DM me on instagram at pfiffclimbs and I can give you a run down! It was really hard for me to improve in climbing, but once I figured some stuff out I have seen very slow, but consistent progress over the last few years.
Book and mountain project say it’s a 6, why’d you rate it 3/4?
If the grade feels way off I put my opinion. I think the way it is most often climbed is not the way it was originally graded, but I this is just a theory. In this case we had a few opinions around the V4 range. I think if you're really short it will feel a lot harder than 3/4, but in general grades are supposed to be centered for average height. Maybe 4/5 would be more fair.

This was just before the most recent batch of storms came in, there was a nice 10 day dry spell. So the route will pretty much be in this condition next time it's dry I believe.
This route looks like an absolute suck-all power pull. No technique here, just grit your teeth, lock your heel, and throw. Props for sticking the hold when you lost your feet too. Good work.

as a boulderer your question makes sense but it's the point is to do it as sport, in soccer/futbol you could just pick up the ball and put it in the net, but that's not The point of soccer right? So walking over the boulder is not the point of bouldering
