The brain is so fascinating, it never stops to amaze me. I wonder if anyone else is interacted with that third part of you inside. So many questions. When you talked about how you are non visual in a sense it reminded me of aphantasia a bit but it could be just a DID thing. 🤔 I'm also curious what did the other alters said about the Sun and Moon that appeared. My mind would be blown away if my world suddenly developed a day night cycle just like that. How did they react? I love your vids btw 🖤

Believing "It wasn't that bad" is not being cured of any kind of PTSD BPD or complex dissociative disorder. I'm wondering if we have watered down the word trauma to such an extent that we have psychological professionals only knowing how to treat non-PTSD/non-CPTSD/non-complex dissociative disorder effects of traumatic experiences. The difference is that kind of traumatic response, the kind that leans more toward sub-clinical and non-dissociative BPD, or CPTSD-like personality disorder symptoms can perhaps be treated with that approach, but you can't just tell someone to stop having flashbacks, to stop splitting, to stop switching, to stop having amnesia, etc., act like you've cured them and if that's not good enough its their fault. I think the reason is they have stopped training mental health professionals in in-patient settings, or with severe cases.

Hey :) could you describe how co con feels for the host? (If you want also in a Video) Does the Host at the beginning also feel like trying to block everything that the front person wants to do? For example when i am co con with my Little she can not say what she wants. If someone ask her how old she is I say from the back of my head that I am an adult and she can not say something different because then i would feel like lying. So my little will say „i dont know“ because i somwhow block the answer… is it a normal experience? And how can i stop trying to control everything… Wish you all a wonderful day :)

This video was helpful to us. We have aphantasia and severe autobiographic deficient memory. Our alters/fragments typically have no episodic memory, no names. But they hold distinct dispositions, ways of acting, feel different in the mind, may talk different. It’s almost like a system made mostly of fragments. It’s disorienting not having a small number of clear personalities 😢

Another thing I wanna point out is how Thomas still kinda views Janus as a flaw rather than a necessity. He never brings up how lying CAN have it’s place in certain situations nor does he acknowledges how Janus also represents self care. And a subtle moment that kinda confirms this is that Janus doesn’t smile during Thomas’s assessment of him. He feels like Thomas missed the point of why he’s here again despite helping out a lot in solving the situation.

31:25 I’m not entirely sure if, in this instance, you were implying that Janus is bad. But I, imo, reject that notion. Manly because the way that I see it, none of the sides are bad. Getting back to the point that Logan was about to get into near the end of “Dealing with Intrusive Thoughts” labeling someone as good or bad is ultimately meaningless when anyone is capable of doing both things. It hinders growth. And I stand strongly with this especially when it comes to the sides because at the end of the day, all of them wants what’s best for Thomas and too much of any of them can cause Thomas to be harmed. Labeling Janus as bad would be very contradictory to the other all narrative that each side is trying hard to protect Thomas. It’s the same thing with Virgil’s arc/situation. It’s why I constantly avoid labeling Janus and Remus as “dark sides” not only is it isolating but the term was made up by Roman (someone with a very black and white mindset).

I think the scenarios presented at the start of the video were kinda hard to compare for a reason because we’re not supposed to fully agree with Patton here.

7:10 Same thing happened earlier this year with our old host. They kept getting pulled into flashbacks bc they learned too much. They split, I formed as a result, and now I feel absolutely nothing in regards to our trauma. I hate that I'm so apathetic, but it enables me to function as host while people process trauma at front so I guess it'll have to do. - Miz

Is there any way you could do an advice video for fictives on how to deal with the hatred people have for your source? We like ourselves, and we don’t want to split, but we don’t know what to do because it’s starting to really get to us. Tag blocking , blocking specific profiles, and deleting social media accounts only goes so far. Thanks for your work either way.

Really interesting video... seeing all the switching and blurriness midway through was a real eye-opener for how difficult navigating through triggers as a system can be. I feel like the "UA-cam instinct" is to cut out all moments when things go wrong, but this was definitely helpful to see. And the raw footage ofc was also interesting to watch with your analysis, since from the outside it looks like one person --- the masking is that good. Thanks for the great video series

I feel like what you're saying is absolutely true but I feel like they are still lies I feel like there is good and there is bad and like are you lying about it there's so many contacts but at the end of the day it still is by definition a lie doesn't mean it's good doesn't mean it's bad it just means it's a lie I feel like the all the things pointed in there doesn't have a negative or positive connotation it just has the definition of it is making somebody think something else that is not the entire truth that's just the textbook definition of lying in the dictionary

28:10 i disagree on this. personally, i dont think the logistics of it matter all that much because regardless of technicality, if you are withholding information from someone they are likely going to feel as betrayed they would be from being outright told something different. if they still feel lied to, what exactly makes it different from a standard lie? whats it really matter to consider it a lie or not if the effect on others is still the same? obviously not all situations are the same and maybe im biased, but ive spent my whole life never being told anything and...i dont know, having spent literal years not knowing certain information about myself and other people, i just dont see the difference. i distrust the people who withheld the information about as much as i wouldve if they lied straight to my face. in my experience, i very much consider it a lie.

My thoughts on this video (not yours specifically, the one you're reacting to): I agree with the privacy concerns y'all had in the beginning and calling out Roman for manipulation- personally the part of that beginning dialogue the hit me the hardest was Roman's little rhyming ultimatum. I like how they didn't succumb to answering Roman's question (especially Logan who didn't understand but tried anyways), instead having the duke just show up (I feel like describing this as the amnesia barrier from the night before still being up, but the conversation dancing around the topic of Remus's existence making that part more difficult for Janus to cover up, if that makes sense. I'm not used to putting things into DID context but I didn't have any other parallels to make this time.) after the group had already tried to move on. I like the representation of intrusive thoughts, and the fact that they didn't make that all Remus encompasses since a lot of his behavior confuses different types of "forbidden creativity" as he's known for which helps to not spread misinformation. I like the comedy involved and I know that while that can be unhealthy in some situations, intrusive thoughts aren't profound and shouldn't be treated as such- they took the route of showing how debilitating it can be whilst also making people's fears seem less scary for their own benefit (I also appreciate that they brought back some of benefits of Logan's character such as using rationalization as a healthy coping mechanism for unnecessarily heightened anxiety). In terms of lore for the fandom (and the DID parallels) I like the concept of Roman and Remus being twins and the inference that they may have split and also the development of the whole "dark sides" thing they'd previously established and how it could represent subsystems and hidden alters (depending on the point in the series you look at it from).

one thing you may potentially be interested in looking into in terms of the similarities between logan and patton is the fact that they roughly represent carl jung's theory of judgement functions (and i *believe* were named accordingly, with patton also having the word paternity as an intially accidental but later purposeful duel meaning for his)

i love that canonically patton is derived from the dad character in thomas's vines and yet is supposed to represent his inner child. in a fictionkin/agere context (because i feel i have more right to describe it in terms of something i am than something i am not, being a singlet and all) that sounds kind of like oc kins where they end up kinning a fictional character of their own creation and also like partial regression in the case of (instead of becoming a middle and evening out the two ages) being two different ages at once. i'd love to hear you thoughts on this in the context of fictives and system littles. great videos by the way, i'm glad i found your channel :)

I really love it when people with stigmatised disorders use a different stigmatised disorder to vilify someone. Onyx was so close, but a narcissist is a person with a specific traumagenic disorder (NPD) and are actually statistically much more likely to be the victims of abuse than the perpetrators. I know you guys meant no harm, but maybe don't use heavily stigmatised medical terms to describe people or actions you don't like. (/notmad/genuine)

Wow. I'm new to this channel but I'm a longg time fan of Thomas and Sanders Sides especially. It's so cool seeing the unique insight y'all are able to provide! Especially around the various roles each side seems to show. I had honestly no idea just how close a lot of things in the series are to DID/system experiences. Also side note, it's super interesting to see the different perspectives Aura and Jayden have on spoilers, with Aura (11:00) seeming to be like 'oh they have no idea hehehe im not gonna say anything' whereas Jayden (40:00) seemingly being more 'im not gonna give any direct spoilers but i need to add this thought because it's really interesting to talk about'. Anyways, great video all round and I'm for sure subscribing :)
