Brand New City of Clovis Amrep Side Loader

A couple years after the City of Clovis, demoed a Amrep on an ACX chassis, they finally purchased one of their own! This is coming from a municipality who has been doing business solely with Bridgeport for years on end, and New Way for their Rear Loaders and Front Loaders. This truck is only 1 of 1 and I consider myself lucky to find it, even though it was a painful challenge to get it filmed. ...

Wow, they finally did it, huh? Last time I saw them demoing an Amrep ASL was in 2020. Wonder if they'll buy more of these, considering the mechanical difficulties. Wish they would've stuck with the full green paint scheme, but I suppose this white with a green accent is more modern... Which route day was this? Nice catch, and great video!

I'm curious to see how this paddle packer performs when the body is almost full. This and another video are the only ones that really provide a proper view of the addle packer in these CP bodies. Good stuff!

Paddle pack trash trucks are so terrible , they look super weak compared to a regular blade packer or the other side loaders that have a push packer that shoves everything to the back of the box.
Probably.. But, compared to the horrible packer design on a McNelius ZR, these do better.

Clovis uses both methods still to this day. I think the dumpsters may have been ordered like this to accommodated their FL's and RL's but I'm not so sure.

I feel nervous every time I use my action camera attached to a bin, I can only imagine how you felt subjecting your camera to this. Hopefully one day I will find a driver who will let me mount my camera and come up with something similar to this. Kudos to you!

Does one truck pick up the green and blue cans? Or is it 3 separate trucks one for green one for blue and one for gray?
Yep, we don’t mix any waste. The trucks may look similar but they are different. The way the monthly complications are made are by day of the week. I’ve gone ahead and put time stamps to clear confusion. Thanks For Watching!

They sure are clean! We probably have one of the best maintained fleets across California. While many people would disagree on this, a city owned fleet is often maintained better and kept in the best conditions then say a private haulers fleet that usually have wires all over the place inside the cab. Talk about electrical fire hazards… Thanks For Watching!

Yep, a lot of equipment moved yards when they lost the contract. Mostly, all the trucks went to the Pacheco Yard.

Yeah… The contract had actually also gone up and the city decided not to renew their contract so. The contract itself had 0 extensions left so it was a no choice call.

Nice my grandpa is up here it's sad to see that a lot of the WXLL autoreaches are no longer in service and the autocar cp rapid rails, but it is aways nice to see new trucks in Atwater sad they lost the contract though.

I seen that! Unfortunately the drivers when I went out there last Monday absolutely didn't want to be on cameras. Kinda weird that they chose to go with Sierras and not toters. They look neat.
