Maybe it takes place after the first party that is held by MC, and before that the events that took place are similar to Yoosung's route (good ending) except 707 goes by himself. So two years later he either knows something is going to happen to him or he decides to go back for his brother and makes Vanderwood involuntarily join rfa in case something happens. So this would take place 2 years after the original plot of the game.
