This seems completely out of character for Aemond, both book and S1. He loved Helaena and was rumored the be the real father of her children. Casually hurting her like this just doesn't make sense.

At what point will Aemond admit he is short on weapons and support because of his own actions her burned Aegon and his dragon Cole saw that and is being weird which I’m sure will come back later on he burned sharp point and in general probably won’t make many friends or allies due to his personality a lot of his choices are turning people against him

I love that Alicent put her foot down with Aemond but why is she acting shocked that Aemond is the way he is? He may want the throne for selfish reasons but he’s right that they would die because of Alicent’s choices, whether he was throwing shade about Alicent’s relationship with Rhaenyra or that Alicent taught her sons to be spiteful and afraid for their lives. It was her own doing and she had the audacity to say, “not like this” as if she didn’t do heinous things to protect her family as well. She made her children desperate and impulsive, and it’s no wonder that Aemond’s priority isn’t to protect their mental state because he knows it’s already an all out of war that cannot end without the other dying. It’s seriously so messed up that Aemond gets the “he’s crazy” comments as if Alicent wasn’t involved into making the problem.

I just realized that the music playing in the background vaguely sounds like the music that was played during Season 1 Episode 9, when Viserys died. Such a cool way to connect Helaena with her dad.

Honestly everyone’s acting is bad in this scene. Aemond overacting. Helaena (especially) and alicent underacting.

He says that "Our whishes must take second place now to what is necessary to preserve the throne" but he didn't think that way when he let his ambition and desire for power guide him in burning Aegon.

In one scene he has the patch on the wrong side of his face and eye.

It’s disgusting that writers used Helaena in that manner in a vision talking to the man who ordered her son’s death as if he is some savior that needs to take Aemond down. Wtf?

Helaena should help her brother. I see a lot of people infantilize Helaena for no reason other than her being neurodivergent when women younger than her in team black: Rhaena and Baela have been helping their families without getting the same treatment. I don’t see anyone complaining about Baela or Rhaena being sent on missions but when it’s Helaena suddenly "Aemond leave my poor baby alone 🥺". It feels downright ableist and this may be a hot take but Aemond is the only person who treated her like a capable dragon rider at this point, she has potential, she is a dreamer and has Dreamfyre. And I feel like y’all forget that Aemond is team green’s only asset after he f**ked up and disabled Aegon and now he knows that if he dies in battle, all of them die. Helaena has a duty to her family whether she likes it or not. Her son was killed by Daemon and she let it go so easily somehow. If her brother is killed in battle which he’d be killed going against that many dragon, she will die too. She knows she’s completely dependent on him for her safety yet refuses to protect herself. Fighting or literally just helping in any way doesn’t mean she’s going to be helping Aemond. It just means she’s going to protect herself because in case he dies , her life is over. Rhaenyra may not be so cruel but would Daemon risk Helaena and Jaehaera’s claim remaining with Helaena riding one of the biggest dragons ?

B&C meant absolutely nothing. Aemond: Who will protect her if she cannot protect herself? Alicent: And who will she be if her mind is broken? So you mean to tell me that Helaena's son being beheaded didn't break her mind, but fighting her enemies to save the rest of her family would??? Wow! I definitely prefer the spoiler-dispenser masquerading as a character, over her tragic book counterpart. Quality writing!

Aemond seems to be the only one who wants to protect his family, and that’s framed as “evil”. Him toasting his brother was undeniably stupid, but I put that on the f**k-ass writers. Alicent made both boys fight with the fears of imminent death but then she gets pissed that Aegon and Aemond actually want to fight for their survival. It’s f**king ridiculous.

Good to know that for now Alicent is still capable of controlling Aemond. Otto is still needed in King’s Landing though to make sure this boy stays in check.

Knowing how the world is he is always very protective of her when danger or threats come her way. Being the older brother, it's just a natural instinct for him to protect her. Alicent, in this case, is trying to remind him of the importance of family over power.
