jingle bells, originally titled, "one horse open sleigh", was written by James Lord Pierpont, way back in 1850. This was originally written as a thanksgiving or even a drinking song, with no attachment to Christmas. The song was first recorded in 1889 on an Edison cylinder. Kind regards everyone, J. X.
Bring a torch Jeanette Isabella/ I saw three ships, played on the Stagi duet concertina, John xavier

Two old carols. Jeanette isabella is a French song from the 17th century. I saw three ships is English, also from the seventeenth century. They are similar songs, and they go together. I started playing them that way, and them I heard Loreena McKennitt do it that way also on one of her albums. Great minds think alike?Merry christmas all, J. X.
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, Jimmy Boyd, (cover), played on 1927 Buescher alto sax, John Xavier

A great commercial christmas song written by British composer Tommie Connor, and recorded by Jimmy Boyd in 1952. I think it has a very lyrical melody to it. Hope you enjoy. J. X.
Here We Come a Wassailing, played on Stagi duet concertina, John Xavier

One of my favorite carols. This is a traditional English Christmas and New Year song, usually sung by carolers going from house to house and spreading good cheer, (as in "Drink"). As a musician I always liked how it starts in 6/8 time, like a jig, then ends in 2/4, more like a "polka". Merry Christmas all, J. X.
Sleigh Ride, Leroy Anderson, played on 1927 Buescher alto sax, John Xavier

A great more "modern" carol, written by Leroy Anderson, from 1946-1948. First performed by the great Boston Pops, directed by Arthur Fiedler in 1948. Hope you're enjoying your holiday, J. X.

Thanks so much my friend, you take care now, J. X.
love the sound of your flute mate, was that your sweethearts voice john?
Yes, 42 years of marriage, I had to watch the end to know what you were talking about.J.X.
Great job on the straight melody. So many horn players don't ever come close to the beautiful straight melodies of the standards. Thank you.
Thank you for that comment. It seems that the main thing people listen for is a nice sound. I am not a "shredder", but the sound has developed over many years, and I think the tone quality speaks for itself. Thanks for your words of encouragement, J. X.
love it, sounds great mate, sounds like harmonica
Yeah, I think there was harmonica on the original. Thanks again my friend, J. X.

Thanks mate, they can be very tricky, and there's 3 distinctly different types, confusing to many. J. X.

I'm just parroting what I read on Wikipedia. Thanks mate, J. X.

Thanks mate, great to hear from you, J. X.
i love christmas carols mate, i think silent night might of been german, lovely sound your little concertina
Yes, written by Franz Gruber, (music), and Joseph Mohr, lyrics. There's a great, very old black and white video they made about how that song came about. It's an old black and white film, short. One of my favorite little christmas films that tell the story of the song. thanks mate, J. X.
shout out to you too john, love that song, sad he died so young, merry christmas mate
I was so surprised when I saw this came from 1984, It just seemed more recent than that, take care, J. X.
i thought it was called oh christmas tree, like your santa john
Another tune from the Germans. I love Vince Guaraldi's version, and all his music from the Charlie Brown christmas as well, Have a great holiday. J. X.
yes got to be the most popular christmas song of all john, great sound the sax
Thanks ,mate. I was losing faith in my alto, then I decided to upgrade to a better mouthpiece. The old basic mouthpiece was very basic. As I started using the alto more it felt like something was lacking. The basic mouthpiece was fine for like classical, but it just wouldn't add any "color". This is jody jazz mouthpiece, #5, And plasticover reeds, # 2's. Probably more info that you needed, but someone else visiting might be curious, My best regards to you mate, J. X.
Mozart was a genious, i think he wrote twinkle little star when he was only 7
Hi Totsy, I love that moniker. Yes, the definition of the word prodigy, hope you are well mate, J. X.

Love it john, wish i could play the flute
Thanks mate. A very versatile instrument, the flute. Kind regards J. X.
your'e amazing for your age john, i can hardly breath watching this
I had a music teacher tell me long ago, that he thought you used more air playing flute than playing Tuba. His logic was that you use all the air going into a Tuba, whereas with a flute half of the air doesn't go into the instrument. So, basically, it all comes down to efficiency. Thanks for your comments mate, see you next time, J. X.
Love it mate, its from a movie but can't remember which one
Hi Tom, I looked at wikapedia and it mentioned a musical called, " Connie's Hot Chocolates, and it said Louis Armstrong was the musical director of the orchestra, and they had him go up on stage and play this song. Always great to hear from you mate, take care, J. X."

Hi John. This is the first time I've heard those tunes played on a flute. You make them sound very smooth and sweet.
