@@gstevennash yes, the apostles worked on Sunday. The sabbath was the day of worship and the day of rest b The last day of the week as declared in the 10 commandments written by the hands of God The Father. I gave the Sunday change in the video by Constantine. Check it out. Can be found in several different sources. The work was done on days 1 through 6 and the last day of the week is the sabbath. God consecrated the 7th day and made it holy. Exodus supports this also. The sabbath is probably one of the greatest deceptions against God’s Commandments. Skillfully done and long forgotten. Keep studying and let me know what you find. If the Commandments are the rule, what other sources would measure up?

@@TheWisdomHuntersI never viewed the meeting of the church and the Sabbath to be separated because of the Apostles decree at the Jerusalem council. Although, they didn’t say the Sabbath is now moved to Sunday. Just that the church should meet and worship on Sunday. Nothing was said in regard to the abstention from unnecessary work. (Side note: the Jewish days begin and end on Sunset, so that Sabbath is from Sunset on Friday night until Sunset on Saturday night.) Another passage that made it not that important of quest to discern for me was both Colossians 2:16, telling Christians that no one is to judge them concerning dietary restrictions, holidays, or Sabbaths. Reinforced by a passage in Romans 14:1-6. Basically reinforcing Christian liberty. You shouldn’t violate your conscience. And shouldn’t judge your Christian brother who isn’t convicted concerning dietary restrictions(both unclean food on the Jewish side, and Idol worship BBQ meat on the Gentile side) and Sabbath observances. I agree though Sabbath observance is part of the moral not ceremonial law and as such outside of passages in Romans 14:1-6 and Colossians 2:16 means it is very much in full effect.

Except for 1 John 5:7b. The LSB does not include that as there are only four Greek manuscripts in existence that have that and the all date later than the 1400s. It was likely added because the Latin Vulgate had those words and Erasmus was taking a risk in his publication of the Greek New Testament and didn’t want to appear anti trinitarian and not get the Pope’s approval to publish.

There aren’t different versions of the Bible. There is one Bible. It is composed of the original writings of the books of the Old Testament and the original writings of the books of the New Testament. The Old Testament was mainly written in Hebrew with a large portion of Daniel and a few other places in Aramaic. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek. (It’s possible, yet debated, whether Matthew and Hebrews was originally written in Aramaic and translated very early to Koine Greek to be shared to a larger audience, but the Koine Greek reading was quoted very early on by the Ante-Nicene Early Church Fathers). There are three manuscript traditions to ascertain what the originals said and they disagree by less than one percent of word volume. One manuscript tradition is the Textus Receptus pieced together by works of Erasmus, Stephanos, and the Beza Brothers in the 1500s. Those were the manuscripts used to translate the King James Version in 1611. An exact of what the Anglican scholars considered the actual text was reconstructed by Scheivner and is referred to as Scheivner’s Textus Receptus in the late 1800s. The next one is called the majority text. It simply goes by whatever the majority of all the known manuscripts say. Since there are far more newer than older manuscripts, this method has the problem of amplifying old and imbedded errors. Finally, there is the critical text method. This method dates the manuscripts by determining the timeframe and geography the writing surface was made comparing it to known extra Biblical writings from that time period that have dates. Doing the same with the inks used and font style. When these are all in agreement, and most of the time they are, then a date is given with a range of + or minus 25-50 years for the time the copy was made. Then these copies are organized and often one is able to determine when an addition or error first appeared. It is subsequently compared to the writings of the Early Church Fathers who quoted the New Testament and the ancient translations. Parts that obviously were not present for hundreds of years in the whole volume of works are removed. Again, all three of these are in agreement more than 99 percent of the time. And no theological difference can be ascertained when using correct hermeneutical standards between any of them when taken as a whole. The Old Testament is a little less complicated with the Masoretic text that was used for the King James Version and some modern translations and the Biblical Hebraica that was used for other modern translations using the very minor differences from the Dead Sea Scrolls to get to a more original writing. There really wasn’t much difference at all in that though composing less than 1/5 of a percent of all Old Testament text. That is with 1200 years of time separation between the two texts.

Second, you are correct that post modern secular scholarship has theorized that YHWH was borrowed from a pantheon of gods of a different religion. No proof though. There is some archeological evidence that even suggests this isn’t the case. Rationalists in the late 1800s argued that King David wasn’t a person, but today there are over a dozen archeological references from 900 B.C. to 600 B.C. that say otherwise. Lots of flaws in your theories and things you haven’t considered. German theologians argued that the Gospel of John was written after 175 AD, but then Alexandrian papyri found cataloged as P52 dated as early as 75 AD and no later than 125 AD. It was also argued that the book of Daniel, due to how precisely it predicted the rise and fall of the Persians, Greeks, and Romans must have been written after the fact. Then in 1948 a copy of it that dates to 200 B.C. was found. All of that to say that when evidence is found it normally takes these post modern secular scholarship theories and throws them in the trash.

If you want accuracy go Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic. For adequate English that isn’t outdated translation use: NASB, NKJV, ESV, HCSB. I have hard time the “KJV is best” folks because they usually forget the purpose of other translations…it’s for understanding the gospel. And while JKV is a decent version, it is useless when it comes to international missions. People that are seeking God with English as a second or third language cannot understand KJV. For that reason I don’t use it for ministry ever. For person use I enjoy it time to time. But English is my first language. Also KJV is not flawless is you do some unbiased research.

This is false. The Bible was written Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Your Latin came from what was to become the Catholic church. They did with the scriptures as they liked, as well as; tortured and killed thousands that were trying to get the scriptures to the public and to the ends of the earth as directed by Christ. @@TheWisdomHunters I'll stick with the most accurate translation that I know of, the KJV is ok if you are a couple of centuries old the NKJV is more to modern English but still not a patch on the ESV.
