Surprised how few people were on the deck of the Columbia. I guess that's normal in November? Been to Disneyland a lot in the old days (1960s & 70s) -- once at Christmas-time, and maybe a dozen times in the Summer. Every summer visit was PACKED with people!

I like the speed of time trial bikes but i am amazed at TT bike handlers out there that can Manuela them like a standard road bike such as fabian cancellara, dave zabriskie, and etc. It's all about how ya lean and it's almost like your front fork can't turn and is integrated into the frame lol, thats what it feels like.

Most probably cross wind. One has to ride a disc wheel to realise how much cross wind can affect, even a truck passing by can make you swerve.

This is great. Loved this ride. I always love seeing actual paddlers paddle in the canoe. Unfortunately, when I went on a couple years ago, the tourists made it heavy. Still a good workout since I skipped my team's practice to go to Disneyland.

Hi Marie! I didn't know you timed us - that's awesome! I actually started the timer on my watch when we started paddling about 15 feet from the dock (after we had pulled away from the dock). I missed the 1st stoke because of it. I turned off the timer after our last stroke. Either way, it was fun! You all should come out and paddle with us. We'd love to see you again! Thank you so much for taking such good care of us and making us feel so welcome!

i remember that boat. but you have to think of it this way.. you started timing from when you left the dock and we timed you from when you actually started paddling which was 4:12 total. during our races, we start from when we start paddling to when we stop. good job though! love to see actual paddlers out on the river. [:
