@@ME44446 It is not sustainable to constantly clean a very tiny amount of trash while millions of tons of plastic replace what you just cleaned. This is just a way for brands like Mr Beast to make themselves look good. It is not about actually cleaning the ocean. If you wanted a clean ocean then you would want to stop the trash at the source because that is what actually matters. It is basically impossible to clean the oceans at a faster rate than trash gets thrown into them. Which means that team seas doesn't have much if any impact.

An effective way to solve this would be to raise awareness and tell people to recycle properly, would have made genuine change with this many audience.

That is not making a difference mate. Realistically, he’s done absolutely nothing. This isn’t a problem that can be fixed by throwing money at it. 33M lbs in 3 years... that's roughly 8hours worth of the world's trash overall. on a $33M budget. I guess all they could do was $1/lb? I kind of expect more, and I'd expect beast to put more of his money into the pot considering he's front-running it. Also they struck a deal with coca cola some time ago; the worlds biggest polluter (responsible for 11% of the world's pollution singlehandedly) This one is public, but who knows what other companies paid off beast's company so they wouldn't get attacked. The whole thing seems like money laundering, I don't know.

@@SCAR-L3000 Most plastic can be recycled. The Ocean Cleanup is researching ways to recycle the stuff that can't currently be recycled. They might already know what to do with it to prevent it from reaching the ocean again.
