Maximizing Lifespan On Exterior Installation Process
One of the unique aspects of this installation was that we applied the film to the exterior of the building. Since we couldn’t access the windows from the inside due to construction, our team employed specialized methods to weatherproof the film and maximize its durability.
1. Seal Pulling: We carefully pulled the window seals to expose the edge of the glass.
2. Film Tucking: We then tucked the XPEL Blackout Window Film behind the seal, allowing it to cover the glass completely from edge to edge.
3. Re-Sealing: Finally, we replaced the seals over the film. This approach not only secured the film in place but also prevented moisture from getting between the glass and the film, reducing the risk of lifting due to Houston’s heat and humidity.
