There are tier 2 options also which aren’t bad. If not IIT then try NITs or state colleges (like DTU). If not IIM then try SP Jain, XLRI, ISB

USA is not Canada and you don’t speak for every Indian in US. You can only speak for those who stay, a lot many want to leave and go back from US as well but it’s difficult because the investment cost is huge and recovering that is a priority.

@@luvkhandelwal1997 Permanent residency and citizenship were, are, and will never be a matter of right. They are only a matter of privileges and will always remain so. No government in this world has ever proclaimed that if one studies, PR and citizenship will be automatic. Earlier, only the best Indian students used to come for studies. Now, the bottom segment is coming, who would find it difficult even to get to the local colleges in their home country. And study is usually the last thing on their minds. The only fault of the govt is to allow such guys to enter the country.

@luvkhandelwal1997 thank you. But i have to go to the grocery and housing accomodation will be outside campus and even maybe in three years I had to come to connect with Indian families because that would be my PhD topic. So i don't know if I would be safe there.

Cash jobs are illegal and not worth it first of all. Do you have Co-Op terms? Then yes. If not then you’d have to live quite frugally (like room sharing, low groceries, no cars or iPhones on finance, no India trips on your savings). Then you can save up to 25k. Also if you find a high paying PT role like a commission based sales then life could be easy.

An immigrant is someone who comes to a country to live there for long term. International students definitely intend to live in Canada long term, they paid for it. Government or Rebel news can pay their tuitions back and then send them back. Most of them would be happy with that.

@@luvkhandelwal1997 International students can come here with whatever intend they want, but as per the document which they signed, they are suppose to leave after studies. Second international students paid tuition fees for which they are given work permit to earn whatever the spend on tuition fees. So that argument does not stand water. Third no one is selling Canada PR here for 20000$(tuition fees) to the fake students. Government will do will what needs to be done for the betterment of CANADIANS and they are doing it now.(Honeymoon days are over) .The so called immigration agents have to look for other jobs and the fake students have to book their flights soon.

Agreed. International students should should strive to get their PR after their studies, when their work permit status starts. However the government has a moral obligation to prioritize these students who invested their time and money to this country over refugees (Ukraine, Afghanistan etc) who leech off tax payer money or people who straight away come on a permanent residency from their home countries.
