Hey bro..probably I start working for swift Tuesday 9-10-24 I go to orientation in Dallas tx,,dose anyone knows wats the pay wile been on training n how much they pay for attending orientation,,I talked to a Recruiter she said it's 650 a week wile I'm in training but you know they always say one thing and I'll be another wen ur out there,,I have my own CDL but just got it in January n need some kind of experience
How long did it take for them to process your application. I just sent mine in a week ago and I heard sometimes they ghost you . Got my cdl back in April I live in Florida it’s been tough trying to find a job with no experience.
@Spirit_virtue yes bro it's Tough with no experience,,I did my application n they called me the next day,everything took about 4 days ,, drug test,clearhouse,back ground,,I dont see why they ghost you, they will hire alot of people everyday, you should try again bro, try to apply for Gordon food service they hire people with no experience but it's hard work,,they pay really good,,ur check won't be nothing lower the$ 1400 a week,they always be between $1400-1800 Dollors a week that's take home,but they will work u,,but if u like try to apliy swift again

I did top gun coming into swift w a cdl. I did the simulators for 1 week and 100 hrs w a trainer which took 12 days. Top gun was worth it I was in a hotel and they fed us lol
What bro I tried swift but they left me on read pretty much Wish when getting your class A they would have told us not to get in 🚑 after a solo crash because now that is just making it hard for me

After going through Swift's Top Gun class this past week in Greer, SC they don't offer sleeping in the trucks. They put you in the hotel. The week basically consists of 4 people total in class. The instructor takes you out in pairs. One pair works on the simulators, the other pair goes out to the yard and practices different backing maneuvers. At the end of the week the instructor evaluates you on 4 simulator tests. The last two tests are driving to drop off a load. Takes about 30 minutes. You get paid $650 a week for training. Coming into class I had 8 months experience but needed help with backing so they offered Top Gun to me. Now just waiting to go out with a mentor for one week and then I'll be good to go. Depending on how Swift treats me over a course of a year I might stay with them or may head to Crete. So far everyone that I have met in the company has been super friendly. I went through Swift Academy in Salt Lake back in 2019. Consisted of 4 weeks. Tested out in a manual so no restrictions on my DL. Overall Swift is a good company to go with starting out. Helps they have tons of terminals to stop at. Like the videos man.
@@andrewcobb7865 appreciate that update. I hope more people see this comment. The school I went through didn’t have top gun so I was going off of what I heard from the Phoenix terminal people. But the good thing is you don’t have to do that time with the mentor so that’ll be a lot less stressful. Also appreciate the support.
@@therun619 Np man. I only have to go out with a trainer at most 2 weeks. I guess where it really shines is for trainees that have to do 4 weeks. It shaves time off from their training.

Does Swift force you to run on recaps? The last company that I was at did, it's why I left.
@@tesorl5986 no I never heard of them doing that. You run your truck how you wanna run your truck. Some driver leaders will ask you and work with you with your recaps to keep you moving, but it’s not mandatory.

9:49 i used to buy and sell pallets, buy for 25 cents each then resell for $2. Every morning trucks drop off broken pallets, which was about 1500 pallets a day, then spend all day repairing the pallets and try it, $2000 target a day. It was making about $48,000 a month.

Every company has ups and downs but I would go with swift if you don't want to be micro managed lol as for money as long as your making more than a McDonald's employee you should be good lol

I was 39 when I got my CDL, always wanted to be a truck driver, wasted 20 years working in a field just going nowhere, wish I would have done it 20 years ago. I wouldn't recommend Swift tho, other companies pay more. I would recommend paying for school yourself and going from there

@jacobdiden8967 depending on your situation you can get school paid for, I was laid off and had to go to a 1 day class to continue unemployment, they mentioned programs that pay for vocations, I said I'm done with this shit I'm going to trucker school, me and my girl struggled eating ramen and hot dogs for 7 weeks, school was 8-4 mon-fri, totally worth it, changed my life

Ten years experience I see swift in a different light. Been here at swift for almost a month. Came in experienced. Planning or thinking of being a trainer.

Let me ask you a question. I'm about to start driving with swift, and they put me on a regional route near louisiana, and it's because my wife has health issues and stuff like that. But they say it's two weeks on and only two days off. So can I take more than the two days off or do I get in trouble for doing that.
@@SethDoesTech it really depends on your driver leader and your account but yes. For example, if you’re just regular regional, not dedicated then you could probably take more than two days off but usually no more than four as long as you let them know what’s going on. Yes, they do want you out for two weeks straight and for your money to look right you would want to be out for at least two weeks but if you have to stay home longer than two days you can. But if it gets longer than three days four days, they’re gonna start talking about taking your truck. It never really happens, but it could.

Just starting im making .43 a mile, pretty poop pay, but the bonus makes up for it a bit, IDK how youre got hitting the fuel milage thing. I use opti idle, and keep it a bit warm, last month Igot 7.8 mpg.
