She's not an opera singer. She has a lyric soprano voice and chooses to sing the odd aria or art song among all her choice of songs in her concerts or shows. She is a very good folk singer... which was a big part of her youth repertoire

LE, Starlight Express is a musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Andrew Lloyd Webber asked Sydnie to sing her version and to put her own touches to it. I would not be surprised if Webber was actually auditioning her either for a new musical he is composing or for a special song written just for her. Background info- Sydnie has been a huge fan of Starlight Express for many many years. She tried out for leading role and didn’t get it. When it came out in Germany she became a backup study for %6 cast members and she’d take their place when they couldn’t perform. In about 2019, while doing backup, she met her boyfriend, Max, who was playing the male lead part in Starlight Express Germany. They remain partners today. I wanted you to understand the two reasons this song was so important to Sydnie. . I have my own third interpretation of this song, basically is she singing to Max, asking him if he is real, is he true, yes or no, and if he is, she needs him to be near. I could just be a big romantic though. lol. There you have it. I heard you say you didn’t think the song was so great ….maybe this info makes the song more appealing and emotional to you.
