12 Day Europe Cruise on Carnival Legend Day#12 (Brugge, Belgium)
It's another perfect day! Today we have booked an excursion through the ship, to the medieval city of Brugge, Belgium. We'll look at the history of the city. We'll find churches containing Holy Relics (Basilica of the Holy Blood) built circa 1100, hear the bells of The Belfry of Brugge.
You'll see a quick glimpse of our chocolate making experience (no photography was allowed, except small snippets).
Try out a few of the local brews in front of The Belfry of Brugge (Built 1300's).
Tonight, is our last night of the trip. Not to worry...We have two more trips planned from the Port of Dover, England.

We'll have several hours at the Windmills before returning to the ship. Tonight, we'll go to the deck party "80's Rock and Glow Party" and watch "Epic Rock" in the Main Showroom. Is raining today, but we're not staying inside. We'll take a bus through the cruise line ($32 per person) to the center of town. From there we'll take a small train ($15 per person) to the shopping area Haga. Try a few small...and not no small...snacks while looking through the shops of Haga. The rain falls on and off all day, but it's fun experiencing a new city and a new country. Back at the ...

We're in Warnemunde / Berlin, Germany. We have an all-day tour of Berlin from Warnemunde Cruise Terminal. This tour is through Viator and is much less than a similar trip through the cruise line. The distance to Berlin is 3 hours one-way, so it's going to be a long day. We pay around $125.00 per person for this excursion. We'll stop at some of the key tourist spots, Charlottenburg Palace, Berli...

We're in Copenhagen, Denmark. Not wanting to pay the expensive ship prices for a tour of the city we opted for a Hop-On Hop-Off bus at the end of the pier. This cost around $30 per person and allowed us to see the city at our own pace. First stop is to Rosenborg Castle, built in 1606 as the summer home for Danish Royalty. The castle is over 5 stories tall and houses furniture of the period, an ...

Today is a Sea-Day as we're traveling to Copenhagen, Denmark. The captain will give his noon briefing of the water depth, temperature, and distances traveled. I'll start the day with my typical "walkabout" as I explore the ship. We'll explore the Atrium, Enchanted Forest and Farenheight 555 Steakhouse. We'll attend the Veterans Gathering, where we'll pay tribute to all past and present veterans...

Today we're in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is the birthplace of Scotch Whisky, Bagpipes and the home of Edinburgh Castle. We arrived at the designated meeting point over an hour late, but the tour operator accommodated all who were scheduled at an earlier ...

We're heading to Dover, England to our cruise. With all the protest in London we're up early hoping the streets are open to meet our transport van taking us to the ship. I cannot tell you how much I am loving your videos! We’re doing this cruise in January, and watching your videos has us so excited. Thank you for all of the fun stories & tips!
You should be excited! We only went this year, but already looking to return. Remember to watch my video on gift cards…you can purchase for 8% discount and pay for all your onboard charges. Look for the Facebook page for your cruise. Plenty of helpful information from others on the pages! Thanks for watching!
great video
Thank you! I
SCAM!!! Celebrity Cruises Gift Card are a SCAM! Non Refundable and you have to book through Celebrity. I have a Trusted Travel agent who can not book my cruise! I just canceled my AARP Membership! I will not renew! Read the FINE PRINT especially (1) and Non Refundable to boot! I'm out $450!
I’ve never used Celebrity Gift Cards, but I have used Carnival, Holland America and Royal Caribbean. Carnival and Holland America were easier to use than Royal Caribbean. Carnival and Holland America you can add to your onboard account while onboard. Royal was a Royal pain to use, but they were accepted to purchase the cruise.
That’s an enjoyable and informative video, as always. It amazes me how much information you put into your videos. You are so detailed! I learn lots when watching your videos. I enjoyed this series. Where are you off to next max when? Thanks for sharing.
Thank consistently watching...Our next adventures will be on the Western Coast of Mexico...The Love Boat Itinerary . That will be in a couple months!
Are there movies 🎉 outside in a big screen
I do not remember them showing movies like Carnival. The retractable roof around the pool was nice on cold days as you could see the scenery and jump up one deck to take pictures. Sorry, but i don't remember any movies being shown, and do not remember them having a big screen.
Enjoyable and informative video! I was in Rotterdam too but didn’t take the same shore excursion. Interesting to see the homes in the windmills. I visited Xaanse Schans and went into a windmill but there were no homes in it. Thanks for sharing!
Now you have a reason to go back! Did you post your video I’m interested in Xaanse Schans now!
😅 I haven’t posted my Zannse Schans video yet! As you know I’m pretty slow at posting but it’s coming!
Hello, thanks for sharing. We are getting on the Legend in about 30 days for a transatlantic and I was wondering if you have done a ship tour of the Legend yet? If so, I would like to take a look, please share. Thanks
Being new to documenting my trips I have not done a ship tour video. I am looking to start doing this in the future! You’re going to love the small ship atmosphere of the Legend…my favorite class of ship! When you get on the ship inquire about the “Behind the Fun” tour of the ship. You’ll see all the areas guest are not allowed to venture. This tour is typically one sea day and typically cost a little over $100 per person. Be sure to watch my video on gift cards…you can pay for everything on the ship using gift cards you purchased at a discount! Thanks for watching!
Another fun and informative video, Scott. I was in Amsterdam for three nights in April and took a canal tour too. Love your sense of humour as usual. Couldn’t stop laughing about the red light district which is located beside a church amd what yo said about it. Thanks for sharing. Sure brought back a lot of memories of the Dam city.
Were the decks icy when you were in Antarctica? I’m wondering if I should bring my winter boots.
We had some snow and ice, but not slick. The crew were constantly keeping the decks clear. My wife brought Boots with the fur inside, but we're inexperienced with cold weather. Temperature below 50F is cold to us. She would have been fine with regular shoes...but your trip could be different.
The little train that could! So cute! Love the symbol with the smiley face. The pastry looks like a cinnamon roll. Thanks for sharing!
It was a rainy day, but still an excellent day. Be sure to bring rain gear on your trip to Antarctica!
That was fun. Glad the top of the ship went under the bridge without any problems!
We had plenty of room to spare...but we were at low tide!
The emeralds are real. They are very clear, they are perfectly colored, and they are large. They are indeed worth a fortune. The royal guard does have fancy uniforms. They don't wear them at Rosenborg. They wear them when guarding the places where the royal family lives. And unlike those in London, their rifles are loaded even when they wear their fancy uniforms.
I was hoping they were real. Probably the most Emeralds I've seen on a single piece of jewelry. Looking at your name you could be from the area...If So... You have a beautiful country. Can't wait for a return trip!
@@LetsJustGoThere Yes. I live in one of the Copenhagen suburbs. I am glad you like my country.
Very interesting video, Scott. I enjoyed it very much. What a strenuous long day! I could never keep up with you two with my chronic foot and back pain. Nope .. I cannot do this tour! Interesting to see the bullet holes in the buildings and Cheryl climbing through a child’s bathroom entry gave me a lot of laughs. 😅. At least in Germany kids enter washrooms for free. In Amsterdam they had no such privileges and their paid toilets sure made me miss the US and Canada. Did you climb through after her? 😂 just wondered! Ha ha ha! Interesting to see where Michael Jackson hung his kid over the balcony! 😅 Thanks for sharing.
You could easily keep up! The key is to drink a local drink (Beer for me, Coke Zero for Cheryl) at each stop. Keep in mind we had a three-hour bus ride to Berlin and three hours back to the ship.
Hi there from Harvey, LA! Just wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos and I hope y'all are staying safe during Hurricane Francine.
Thank you! We're as safe as possible, the center is currently tracking around 15 miles from us, but we're not going anywhere. Ya'll safe in Harvey also...the West Bank is the best bank! A little jog to the east and you're in the eye's path! It's odd saying a track to the east will affect the west!
I enjoyed this video, Scott. Never been to Denmark. The castle was interesting with carpets on the walls and especially that latrine! 😅 liked the Mickey Mouse dessert.
Thanks for taking me along on the way to Copenhagen, Scott. Enjoyed seeing more of the Carnival Legend as I’ve never sailed Carnival before.
You should try one of the fun ships! This ship is one of the smaller and older ships, but our favorite class of ship (Spirit Class). The Carnival ships are a little less expensive than the Holland America ships...So you can go more often.
@@LetsJustGoThereThanks for that info. I’ll start looking at Carnival cruises.
This was enjoyable to watch. The statue looked like a real guy’s toes! 😅
Enjoyable video and very informative as always, Scott. I was in Dover too and didn’t get to visit the White Cliffs or Dover Castle as I had another excursion but next time I’m there, it’s on my list. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the rest of your videos.
We'll be there next year and stay in Dover. Seems to be a lot to see there!
Enjoyable video and very informative as always, Scott. I was in Dover too and didn’t get to visit the White Cliffs or Dover Castle as I had another excursion but next time I’m there, it’s on my list. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the rest of your videos.
I enjoyed this tour of London very much with your typical sense of humour. Had a good laugh about those protests and you jonimg the counter protests and just needing to throw some tea into the sea! 😅 You totally crack me up. Look forward to more videos.
That was enjoyable. Thanks for sharing! Hope I get to visit Norway one day.
Nothing stopping you "Just Go There"! You'll love it!
Enjoyed this video very much, Scott. Had a good laugh when you said they were big supporters of John Deere! 😂 Love your sense of humour! I would love to visit Norway. Why did you choose a back to back? What cruise line did you sail on?
Norway was more scenic than Alaska in my opinion, just not a much wildlife. With the price of airfare, I couldn't see going for just one week, so we added the week before our originally planned trip. This was a Holland America Cruise.
Love water aerobics
I love sneaking around videoing people doing water aerobics, yoga or meditation. Watch out I may catch you in the pool!
Getting ready to head to Athens Greece for a 11 day cruise on the Oosterdam. Hopefully they have restocked the food. LOL!
That was an enjoyable sea day. The chicken hatching was hilarious!! Love and Marriage was more fun than I expected. Thanks for sharing.
Roatan looks like lots of fun. I’ve never been to Honduras. Thanks for sharing
You’d love Maya Key…Purchased through the cruise line. We’ve purchased this excursion multiple times.
As usual I love your sense of humour. Love how you describe the rodent ship! 😅🐭🐁
😊 thank you!
Hi! We’re leaving for Alaska next week through RC Ovation of the Seas. Where did you book the Mendenhall Glacier tour? $50 per person is really a good price. We booked whale watching at 3pm we may have time to visit the glacier
Booked it on the pier. There are numerous vendors selling this tour.
Costa Maya is cool! Love the free entertainment in port! Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your videos.
Carnival is the BEST ❤Get yer PaRtY oN 🎉
They definitely have lively ships! Thanks for watching.
How many days out b4 warm weather?
The second day was warm, but the center pool is enclosed. You can lounge in the pool while in New York where this cruise departed.
@LetsJustGoThere Thanks.. Good to know! We are taking the 12 day cruise as the ship moves to the new location.
I enjoyed this very much. I thought I had watched the whole series and then you talked in the final video about this one. The dogs were so cute all dressed up. I always enjoy your lighthearted commentary and maps to show exactly where you are.
Many thanks for putting together this incredible series. I’ve enjoyed every one of them and you’ve given me a great idea of what to expect on my cruise in December. Like you, I also received a free inside stateroom offer for the Dec 15 2024 sailing. I thought it was a scam even after calling HAL so I went to CAA (the Canadian equivalent of AAA) and purchased the cruise through their travel agent. I don’t gamble either (except for joining group slot games). The offer came in an email as well. My cost for a balcony on deck 5 mid ship including taxes, fees, single supplement and Cancel for any reason platinum plan is US $3039! A deal of a lifetime for this trip of a lifetime! It looks like I’ll be taking the same excursion in BA because our tour takes us to Eva Peron’s grave.
I’m now a bit worried about my arrival in Buenos Aires. I’m supposed to arrive just after midnight Dec 14 and I’m supposed to stay at an airport hotel that is 5 minutes from the airport. The hotel offers a 24/7 shuttle so I’ll take it and hope I won’t be mugged outside the airport while waiting for the shuttle. I’m uneasy about taking a taxi or Uber at that time of morning as I’ll be on my own. Embarkation is on Dec 15 and I’ve purchased a transfer with HAL but I’ll have to return to the airport to get on the transfer. I’ll be staying at that hotel and not venturing out for walks the day before embarkation. Thanks for sharing this very important safety tip.
Hey this is valentina! I really enjoyed being your tour guide hope you had a fantastic time and to see you around soon!
@@Valensjqnsjqn yes we did enjoy your tour. Thanks for showing us around your town, and thanks for watching. Hopefully others will be looking for you to take a tour!
I haven’t finished watching your video yet but I’m glad you mentioned the swollen feet and fingers because I’ve noticed red and swollen fingers and knuckles when I’m cruising. They get back to normal when I return home. Do you know what causes it? As for the jellyfish, seals love to eat them as do other predators like whales, sharks and turtles and also some bigger fish and sea birds.
I'm guessing the salt in the food causes the swelling. You should try drinking more water than usual to keep it down. Jellyfish were everywhere here. The most I've ever seen.
Hey Scott! You look great in the City Tour cap and you did great too!! 😅 I will remember not to buy HAAS candies in Uruguay!! Thanks for doing the taste test!!
Great video Scott! I haven’t been to Victoria so it was very interesting. So cool to see an otter on land doing his business!! I never would have thought they do it on land! The pedicab ride was fun. How much did it cost? I’d love to do that. Looking forward to your next series from Europe. My, you sure do travel a lot!!
The pedi cab was $80, but we gave him $120…he was excellent. We travel as much as possible. I typically have 7 weeks of vacation, but this year I have 13 weeks to prevent getting work fatigue.
Enjoyable video Scott. I have the Sea Lion island excursion for this port but after watching your video I’m thinking of changing it to the city and museum tour as there are lots of sea lions at the pier, it looks like. Thanks for sharing!
There are a few Sea Lions at the port, but for about $40 you can purchase a tour at the end of the pier to Punta Loma. They have a lot of Sea Lions there.
@@LetsJustGoThereThanks! That’s a great tip!! I’ll do that.
@@CruisingWithChooChoo I had my ports mixed up...Punta Loma...was in Montevideo...There were a few sea lions at the port, but this port we booked an excursion at the end of the pier that included a city tour. @Valensjqnsjqn ...aka Valentina, was our tour guide and was one of the best! This young lady is 16 years old, but was a fabulous tour guide. I highly recommend her and her E-mail is above. If possible, see if she's giving tours the day you arrive...She explained everything even why they have no homeless people on the street.

Fantastic video as always! Thank you for the info on the toilet, it’s good to know they have it…my bladder appreciates it too. 😂.
I enjoyed this video very much. The salute to veterans is moving. Does RC have this everyday on every cruise? The escargot looks different from the one I got on HAL. They served them on a little egg crate dish. And why did the clinic have a green cross and not a Red Cross?
They've have the salute to veterans on every sailing. The escargot are covered in cheese and garlic...The Red Cross is patented, where the green cross is not.
Another great and enjoyable video Scott. This brings back memories of my Alaska cruise last summer and I also did the Mendenhall glacier though I didn’t walk to the waterfalls. I didn’t see as many eagles ether but enjoyed watching the eagles in your video. Thanks for sharing.
Another great video! We are very much looking forward to Juneau, good info about the show, will make sure to find a seat in the upper deck.
Thank you for these videos, I will be on ovation in late August I am very much excited. By the way I enjoy listening to your voice!
Listening to my voice...LOL...You need a cruise!
@@LetsJustGoThere LOL I don’t know it’s just something about it. But yeah that cruise is coming just need to wait until August 🤣🤣😂
@@chris9531 after you cruise Alaska you should put Antartica on your list!
@@LetsJustGoThere it’s on the bucket list, I’m about to watch your Antarctica videos
Thanks for sharing this video, Scott. I enjoyed it very much and I also love listening to your voice and the things you say. You’re incredibly detailed (are you a teacher?) and hilarious at the same time. You look cute with the crown on your head! I loved how you showed the train toilet flushing. 😅 I took this train ride about 15 years ago but it took us up to the Yukon and even though it was August, there was still snow on the ground! Last year I was also up in Alaska on a cruise and I took another train ride in Skagway but it was much shorter. It didn’t go up to Canada but the scenery was breathtaking.
Well I get to experience the Drake Shake vicariously and I’m glad it didn’t bother you and Cheryl too much. The “polar” plunge was pretty hilarious! You braved the elements, Scott. I enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing.
My wife uses her iPhone and I use a Cannon EOS M50 MARK II camera... I have a 15-45mm Lens and a 300mm Lens.
Loved this video, Scott. It’s wonderful that they create a sanctuary for those naughty bears and then turn it into a tourist attraction. I wish they would do that everywhere. The raptor Center was lovely. I love raptors. And the pianist is awesome!!! Looking forward to the next video. I have done two Alaska cruises but Sitka wasn’t one of the ports.
Fun video, Scott. The band sure sounded mournful in practice 😅. The bumper cars .. 😂 .. I felt a bit tipsy watching you guys in the cars with the Rocky ocean! Love the robot waiters. I’d buy a drink just to watch them in action. Thanks for sharing this video. I did an Alaska cruise last summer with HAL so this is interesting.
I enjoyed this video very much Scott. The Renaissance is very reasonably priced for being in downtown Seattle and for being a 4 star hotel. Recently I stayed at a Marriott in Scranton, PA and it cost more. I love how you use google maps to show where you’re at and where you’re going to and I enjoyed the full tour of your stateroom cabin. I’ve never sailed RC so it’s very interesting to me. Have a fantastic cruise and I’ll enjoy following along with you.
I love how you show where you’re at on google maps or google earth. It’s so nice to see.
Where is the Ushuaia End of the World sign? Is it close to where the ship docks? Thanks.
Go to the end of the pier and turn right…about 300 feet you see the sign. People line up to take a picture with the next in line taking the picture.
Thanks!! I asked someone else who had videos of their South America Antarctica cruise but they didn’t know where to find it.
I enjoyed this video very much! Everything from how many layers you got on 😅 to the adorable penguins that wanted to be close even though you had to be far was funny. Love your commentary. You’re always so much fun to listen to. Thank you for sharing this video.
