Bridgeport V2XT Bootup & Program Run
Took a little time this weekend to attempt capturing a few steps (and a tip or two) involved in making a part on a Bridgeport V2XT CNC machine. Thanks again!

Cutting V-Beads in Plywood with Makita Track Saw
Переглядів 892 роки тому
Water leak prior to my ownership caused a fair bit of damage to sunroom wall. Replacement panels with the same spacing were not available, leaving the repair choices as 1) rip rest of sunroom out and go back with drywall, 2) replace with available beaded paneled with completely different bead spacing, or 3) attempt to make my own panels to match existing sunroom. Thanks for watching!
Bridgeport V2XT CNC Machining Corvette Z06 Wheel Spacer
Переглядів 2,6 тис.5 років тому
Another interest of mine is machining. I have been manual machining all sorts of things for about 15 years, but this is my first CNC program and part. The Bridgeport V2XT in this video is certainly not the newest or fastest machine out there, but she is fairly accurate and will make a pile of chips much faster than turning cranks! This particular hubcentric spacer was designed by a friend, as p...
Deere 410 Backhoe Removing Stump

Since my last video was posted, we had baby #3 and moved to our new house. The Kubota kx121-3 mini excavator featured in another video was sold, and shortly thereafter I found life without a hoe of some sort to be more difficult. So I ran across this nearly abandoned, early to mid 1970s backhoe on craigslist. It still needs many things, but after a year or so of weekend progress it's finally a ...
2013 Ford Explorer Electrical Issue and Dead Battery
Переглядів 31 тис.7 років тому
In January 2013, my wife and I test drove the 2013 explorer that is the subject of this video. The car had a completely dead battery on the dealer's lot, and my gut feeling was stay away, but after a full weekend test drive the car proved to be charging fine. Decided to make the purchase of my first new car and first Ford vehicle, and randomly over the next several months my wife would mention ...

To answer the very popular "How well does it pull?" question for this truck, decided to subject it to the heaviest test at my disposal. The truck is no modern turbo diesel, but I was somewhat pleasantly surprised with the performance. A 24' gooseneck trailer weighing in at 4200lb, and the Kubota KX121-3 mini excavator at about 9500lb. All together this is maxing out the 14k gross rating for the...

86 Chevy K20 Road Trip
Переглядів 2,9 тис.8 років тому
Part of a little road trip undertaken for Christmas 2015. Took some backhoe tires home to Bluff City TN from Huntsville AL. Just going through the gears a few times, and reaching highway speeds on I-81.
What ya think your gvcw was and how did it like pulling and stopping
@@arthurshortlidge7188 I'd say it was real close to 20k, and while it did pull and stop successfully it wouldn't be something I'd enjoy routinely doing!
hold button to pause, nice tip! have you used the DNC feature yet to load big programs?
Nicely done! Looks great dtr440 :)
Dude is HOT!! 😍😍😍
what program do you use for make the code G
VisualCAM, from mecsoft. It used to be nicely integrated in my CAD package, and model changes would update tool paths, but now it's a standalone program where I import step files.
Would you be willing to make a tutorial video on how to use the machine. I have one just like it and have had no luck in getting it run a program. I'm sure if you make a full tutorial of how to design a part in cad software, converting it to a program and how to load it in machine, set tool heights, and run program, you would be hero to alot of young machinists that are eager to learn, please
There will be many variables from the assorted CAD/CAM packages available, but also plenty of common topics to cover in the process of making chips with these machines. Thanks for the suggestion and I will do my best to make this happen!
muy buena maquina esta al 99% lo unico es la pintura pero se ve que todavia tiene la pintura original ademas de un muy buen operador no forza la retro para nada excelente like desde mexico
You make all the fords jelly
I finally figured out how the 454 got 17mpg. 8 in town and 9 on the hwy is 17 right?
I'm not seeing it addressed in the other comments but more than pulling, the issue with this sort of load is stopping. How'd the brakes do? Are your trailer brakes turned up? Thanks
I've taken my chainsaw and plunge cut a hole through the side and out the end for a log chain and lifted it right out
No way does the camera do the magnitude of that stump justice! I've had a couple like that where you gotta' slide them on the ground to transport haha.
Need more horse power. Maybe you should get a couple of horses to pull the machine next time...:-) Good job on that, was interesting to watch. I used to watch JCB front loaders and backhoes working in my neighbourhood as a kid.
that backhoe is NOT SUPOST to move when you're digging . put those out triggers down tight to the ground.
How does it ride with the gooseneck loaded down? Does it squat pretty good?
😓 PЯӨMӨƧM
Everyone acts like you have to have a new diesel truck to pull anything. What the hell do you think people used back in the day? Old gassers like this put in plenty of work. Just don't expect to get there fast
Me personally would rather hear a moaning gm big or small block. And is that a bOgaltor (quadrajet) I hear. Moaning. I always think the loudest sounding bog sound will I've ever personally herd is a small block gm TBI with the air cleaner lid flipped upside down. Even the little 4.3 bogs like hell as a matter of fact. and t's the best sounding of them all to me except mabey a heavy loaded struggling 305 moaning and making you deaf
Dodge 440 ONLY big block that will pull a serious load.
What material are using for the wheel spacer?
Nothing fancy, just 6061
I don’t know what happened to my comment but do you think this tractor is big enough to clear land
I was thinking of getting a John Deere for work purposes and clearing land do you think it’s big enough to do it
It’s like playing mud runner lol great video!
Old truck sounds good. I’m getting an 87 1 ton flatbed in about two weeks I can’t wait unfortunately it’s only got the 350 but it has under 100,000 miles on it and it’s in damn near mint condition and comes with everything to make it a dump bed.
Knee needs a little more practice
Should be digging closer to stump your reach is to far half throttle half pay I hope you don't charge by the hour
Just a guy that saved an old, non-functional backhoe from the scrapyard, and use it as required on my own little piece of land. I think it's pretty obvious from the description that nothing about this video is connected to how I make a living.
Great video! Love seeing this old GM trucks still doing work!! And just hearing that quadrajet carburetor brings back memories of when I had it on my ‘72 GMC!
Ford’s new 7.3 liter Godzilla can tow THIS fine
Fucking badass!!!!!! Is it 4x4👀
Key word kkkkk20
Congratulations on the job, but why did you decide to cut down such a beautiful and large plant?
Thanks! Based on the previous owner's comments, lightning struck the tree several years before I purchased the property. It was mostly dead, and starting to drop sizable limbs in the yard.
@@e30engineering49 I can ask you what is the power of this deere, if it has the original engine, if you have upgraded it, and then I would like to ask you if you have any other good videos of work done with this machine.
Richard Cestari, tree lover.
@@genecoppedge5972 I asked you about your digger! Obviously I'm a lover of trees, aren't you?
@@riccardocestari3732, no I don’t love trees. I love people and respect the environment, It’s about priorities.
My Chevy 6.0 pulls faster then this
Your 6.0 has also probably rusted away by now. Unless you live in the desert.
Your 6.0 will scream it's self to deaf pulling this
Solution : (1). Add solar panel to roof to charge during sunny moments when vehicle is shut down (2). Add battery charger for night time when possible (3). Carry spare battery to start when battery goes dead. (4). Get rid of the damned Ford ! Maybe this should be #1....... Really Sucks !
The best advise ever!
Service department (w Ford HQ coordination) thought it could be PCM or BCM prob. Replaced 2x each. Still didn’t fix. Reset grounding wire. Still didn’t fix. Every solution would correct prob for 1-2wks. Something has to be “on” draining this battery or blocking electronics from working. Traded veh in for 15 Navigator (w similar electronics); no issues. Dealer took Explorer to auction bc no solution was found.
Glad your story ended well. My case was elevated as well, but it was largely a stall tactic. Finally I traded the explorer for a new suburban and all problems solved! Ha
Whats your gvwr for im trying to figure mine out for my 76k20
Hey 👋,new to channel ... more info on mill plz, speeds feeds and the whole shebang
1.6 mpg
You run 52inch leaf springs or 56 inch leafs?
Put legs down so wheels are off the ground. Put loader bucket down to lift front off the ground and machine will be anchored better.
Sorry, your no operator
Sorry, you're no master of the English language
@@e30engineering49 good job. You did awesome. Keep up your good work
thank you
thanks for the video. and nice camera setup. maybe on the front fender lookin back too?
Hi.. What are the process involved in making a Wheel spacer? Like sawing, drilling etc..
My k20 8,600 gvw has a M code 350 and 400 trans. Looking into a sm465 granny low swap. Looks li,e once I freshen up the 350 and do swap the chassis of the truck should do just fine.
Jeez dude, put the trans into 2nd before putting it into 1st
Ahhh yes, another brave commenter with nothing better to do than display his own ignorance. I'm fully aware that low gear has no synchronization. The red light caught me off guard and as I don't sit idling with the clutch depressed like you probably do, I didn't allow sufficient time for the trans to spin down for a smooth engagement.
@@e30engineering49 I'm not ignorant. I just noticed that you didn't really try to prevent wear on your transmission in this case. For the record I drive an 85 f150 4 speed so I know my sh*t when it comes to driving a manual, I don't sit at stoplights with the clutch depressed as I know that causes wear. And even when I'm under duress like when the light turns green, I will quickly put the trans into 2nd before sliding into 1st.
@@legostar55 sure you do, quit bitching at other people how they shift their vehicle...could you be more petty sir?
@@racekrasser7869 Alright I admit I was being petty here. If a red light surprises you it's understandable. Please forgive my nit-picking
You could use some machine lessons
valentino vito where do they have machine lessons other than doing what he’s doing and learning as he goes?
I could’ve done it faster with shovel
Oh i'm sure, you probably could have even removed the 5k lb stump faster simply by staring at it!
Il defonce le terrain chez moi comme il fait là je le fume
Mais le mec si prend comme un pied !!!
C'est clair que c'est pas une flêche ..
Oui jd bonne machine
Painful to watch.
Agreed! I suggest nobody watches it, honestly. However I'm sure you could have been far more effective with a 50 year old backhoe and a 5k lb stump. You could probably have done it faster with a shovel if I had to guess!
@@e30engineering49 Easily faster with a shovel, kidding obv...nice work!
@@ckrampertracingWAS: Ok, the yankee feller gets to use a shovel, you get to use the car you "race" and I'll use the old Deere on the next stump and we'll see who wins! IS: I appreciate all my loyal viewers and subscribers, even yankees without a clue what it took to get the old backhoe back to life from the bone yard.
The JD 410 is a great machine. I laughed a little because you got dragged around by the powerful scoop, but you really did pull a BEAST of a stump! I haven't pulled one this big yet. As previously commented, lift all tires off the ground for maximum backhoe stability. You sometimes have to do some ugly turf damage to do big work. It just gets worse when you don't set the machine firmly. There is usually shovel and rake cleanup when you work this big. My two cents are in descending order: #2. Care for the machine. Service all grease points after every dirty job. Fresh grease pushes out grit. The steel joints will grind away much faster if these are neglected. One joint requires that you extend the backhoe boom to reach it. Check the oil level before every start so you know exactly what it should be. Too low is bad of course but too high could be a bad gasket allowing coolant into the oil. It could mean severe engine damage. Check the hydraulic oil and coolant as well. They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. In this case it is preventing the machine from becoming 14 thousand pounds of scrap iron. Whatever a pound of cure costs, this machine needs thousands of pounds at a time. prevention is best. #1. Safety! Care for YOU and OTHERS! For perspective on how much labor this machine saves, imagine filling the front loader bucket with loose dirt with a shovel. It will take hours! The machine can do it in seconds. Put that same energy into walking around and getting into the operator seat and looking all around the machine before doing anything. Please do not operate heavy equipment from outside the cab. I hate saying gruesome things but both yellow and green John Deere tractors have crushed both lazy operators and curious adult and child bystanders from operation outside the operator position. Don't do it. please! Maybe you have realized this already. I say this for the benefit of every learning viewer. Please, do not operate heavy equipment out of the operator's seat.
Thanks for the constructive comment. That's really the only point in posting this video, maybe somebody out there will learn something, even if that somebody is me...
