I had one of these in Gold also. It had the FM stereo option. The multiplexer was under the glove box. I bought the 8-track tape player that was mounted under the ash tray. Also, a four-way flasher was installed near the parking brake release lever. A rear deck defogger was put on the rear deck to help clear back window. The engine was very quiet except at idle. A rattle that took me a while to locate drove me crazy. The heat riser on the exhaust manifold rattled. I replaced it and the second started to do the same thing. AGH! Installed radial tires which improved the ride a lot. Michelin X tires were the answer. Got maybe 9 MPG and I only had the one carb not the two that the GS had. Every one who saw this car fell in love with the styling. Very advanced for Buick. Had that car until the gas shortage in 1969-70. Got a Pinto, what a major change!

Im willing to bet ..that 360 HP...was well underratated...it was probably.. 420 /450 I had one 425 nail head 342 rear end...stock It was fire engine red Black interior.. Center console.. It was a real nice car Wish i still had it.. This thing got up An got outta the way FAST.. ALL STOCK

The last year for that Nailhead was the best year for it, not only because that was the first year that they were equipped with the Quadrajet. However, it looked out of place in a modern car of which shared the same body with the Toronado. Waiting one year longer for the new Buick light-casted V-8 was worth it

My first car was a 66 Riviera, sort of a dark copper/brown exterior. White interior with bucket seats and the floor shifter with console turbo hydramatic 400. It consumed lots of constant velocity u-joints between my right foot and all that torque, the 4 wheel drum brakes sucked! But it ran hell for strong and rode like a prince.

I had a 66 with the 425ci and dual 4bbl from factory. Mine did not have the cornering lights. No 4 way flashers either, was a dealer option and not legal some places.
