This vid is about my own experience with Land Rover, which, spanning over more then 2 decades is largely positive (but I've purposely made the ending a bit controversial). Hi, who brings the Old Emu lift kit in Malta and how far is it going, any feedback on it?
@@MrAcewish I have since sold this Land Cruiser but I know the owner, the feedback is great
@@k44_4wd Thank you for your feedback. Can you tell me who brings the old emu in Malta?
Hi, may i know whats the axle code for the one with factory difflock? Thanks
Sehr schön❤ ! Mein Vater hatte mal so einen :) Ich würde auch so einen kaufen...mal schauen. ;)
Hello, I came across your channel when viewing videos about Toyota prados as I bought one yesterday. I saw your video where you show the seat covers you got from escape gear and was wondering if you remember what model you selected when buying these seat covers online as they don't actually have this one listed on there website. Thanks!
I replied to you under that vid, seems they don't offer covers for the Prado anymore.
Hello, I've just bought the same model yesterday and was wondering if you remember what model you selected when buying these seat covers online as they don't actually have this one listed on there website. Thanks!
Hi Ellis, I just checked their website and you're right, they removed the Land Cruiser 90/95 Series option now.🥲
Beautiful adventure , hopefully will be going beginning of march. Did you require any camping permits ?
Pierre, check your FB Messenger.
@@k44_4wd Thank you
Looking forward for the 80 series walk around 🤛 great stuff Mike
Thank you Jim, nothing like the vids of the master (your own!) but we try :-) Walk-Around of the 80 is in the pipeline but before it need to work on the last trip.
Thanks for sharing ✨️ 👍
Love it ❤
Thanks for sharing, I have been seen ur car in malta it's beautiful I'm owner of land Rover Series 3 88 and defender 90
Great 👍
Hi. I recently put in a 2" lift kit on my Prado. The front is now 1" higher than the rear. The mechanic said it would take some time for the suspension to settle cos he changed the front rubber mounts since they were worn (he didnt change the rear rubber mounts). Did you have any issues with your Prado not being level after the lift kit installation?
Hi Stephen, no when I did the lift it looked perfectly level, just as it did before just 2’ higher 🙂 - I think it’s better that your rear rubber mounts get changed also now
@@k44_4wd Thanks for the suggestion!
How about strong waves? Would the explorer k2 do good in them? Would it hold up well?
I didn't go through particular large waves but I think moderate ones are ok. Bear in mind this is an entry level inflatable canoe so don't be overconfident in choppy waters.
@@k44_4wd🙏
Are those steel rims? Do they effect fuel consumption much?
Yes, those are steel rims. I changed the rims and tyres at the same time but did not notice any real change in consumption.
@@k44_4wd Awesome!
@@stephentan6302 welcome 🙂
Just about to buy a MINT cindition white 2002 / 90 series with diesel auto / 230k kms full service history and @ AUD$22,000. I could not give a shit if thats overpriced. These things are a classic bullet proof get home car. I live in the Northern Territory of Australia. You simply dont go remote in anyting except a toyota in the NT. End of story. I am going to keep it stock exxcept for some meaty tyres.
Good luck in your purchase! Since this vid was posted I have sold this rig but regret it! 😞
Immaculate condition!
wow just incredible
Thank you, glad you liked the vid
The issue I’m having with my 2001 LC is finding wheels that fit the bolt pattern. Any suggestions?
Greatings from South Africa Please o bear in mind that Europeans and the Brits made Countries like South Africa. We are definitely not all dark skinned and live in clay huts 😂. Now that it is run by Africans it is a mess, lets leave that for now. We have a similar sized 4x4 community as Australia. Because of the extreme environment, we need good gear. The equipment produced here are of the highest standards. To do overlanding , especially in more remote parts of africa, you should not go without quality equipment. Therefore the demand for excellent products remains high. We export all over the world. Even Aus which is arguably the largest producer of aftermarket 4x4 and camping accessories in the world. Back to the seatcovers. I had my Escape gear covers on my Hi Lux for 13 years. It faded a bit from machine washing, but never tore apart. The reason for the replacement was that the driver seat bolster wore through a bit. You can also look at suppliers like 1 Takla 2 Caprivi 3 Beesdam Shipping should be better now after Covid. I am not a vendor. Just a enthusiasts like you Regards Riaan D Mūller
Thank you so much Riaan for this feedback. I will definitely look into these brands for my next purchase, hopefully they have suppliers in Europe!
Jesus man that is completely mint .
Enjoyed this. Just bought one myself and have tested it out in London. 👍🛶
Thanks for the comment mate, given the current climate in your neck of the woods, I guess my suggestion to keep yourself hydrated is rather pertinent :-)
Hi, this looks awesome, good job, what brand are the rims?
No clue tbh 😅
Hey man, Car looks beautiful. How are.yo finding those rims? I'm looking at -12 offset for my car and Wanting t to know if I'll be looking at clearance issues or them poking far out the guard? Great vid again
Hi Bradley, thanks! :-) Take a look at my other vid on this Cruiser which is specifically about rims & tyres.
Well you couldn’t pick better music 👍
Wow beautiful find well done.
Thank you Derrick, I have since sold it on & got an 80 Series
@@k44_4wd ah lovely stuff.80s are top class had 1 but I just think the 90s are so underrated. That 90 was probably 1 in a million with the low miles.
@@derrickmurphy9859 yes they are great rigs, regret selling it in fact 🤷🏻♂️
Hi, what axle did you use in the front and how much upward travel do you have?
Its from another Cruiser but can't remember which (bought it this way). Upward travel, loads :-)
What are those gauges in the centre of the dash? Are those from factory?
Yes factory binnacle, side angle etc
really like the land cruiser, ive been looking at these myself with a possibility of swapping my land rover for one
Cheers Dan - truth be told there is nothing too exciting about it but it gives peace of mind which is what many of us want 😃

what happen in heavy rain with snokel
If rain is tropical/ monsoon turn cone head backwards to limit intake
@@k44_4wd Can you please upload a video of installing a snokel of your car and where (link) you bought it from.
@@vinayprangani5371 Unfortunately I did not shoot the video of the snorkel installation as my mechanic fitted it & I wasn't next to him at the time. You can search for a simple unbranded snorkel for your LC off Ebay for example here (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIR-INTAKE-RAM-INDUCTION-SNORKEL-FOR-TOYOTA-LAND-CRUISER-PRADO-J90-3-0-1KZ-97-02/303719798646?hash=item46b71c5776:g:BHkAAOSwENVfhDcY) or else go for something branded (Safari/Mantec but spend much more). Good luck!
Well I bought the same kit .. and I'm little bit confused whit the template..🤔
Snorkel ram heads are actually designed to remove the water from the air during suction. Heavy rain doesnt matter your sweet az
Which Lr4 you were referring? 2.7 or 3.0 As what i know is that the 2.7 is the defect one.
LR3 had its share of defects; then got those addressed in the LR4 which unfortunately then got a different reputation, that of snapping crankshafts - they are beautiful to drive but when things go wrong they are then complicated & costly to fix.
Looks nice, hoping to improve the ride of mine as standard it’s not very good.
Just bought one the same but 2002 with d4d engine. Going to build an overlanding vehicle, be interested to see your build 👍
Hi Paul, I didnt go crazy with “the build” or rather the project turned out to be a much quicker one then anticipated, reason being I had been after a 80 series for several years so it would not have made financial sense to equip this, also due to the pandemic’s restrictions I was still uneasy to go overland which as a result placed less need for a roofrack etc. Feel free to like my FB blog facebook.com/Kilin4x4/
@@k44_4wd Well I’m not new to off-roading having Land Rovers & Range Rovers for over 15 yrs but overlanding is a new adventure for me, I plan to start exploring the U.K. first. I looked at all manner of vehicles & Landcruiser is the one that kept on coming back to me as the best but fuel consumption is a big part for me. I bought this J95 but initially didn’t like the ride so I looked at the 80 series & nearly bought a V8 100 series on LPG a couple days ago but the seller messed me around then yesterday I found out that Shell have pulled out of supplying LPG pumps to the U.K. market so now I’m going to stick with the J95 I’ve bought but need to improve the ride & comfort of the whole thing. I’ll be following your FB blog for sure 👍

Hi, what are the exact tyre and rim sizes you are using? I'm not sure if I've heard it correct in the video. I have to say, these wheels look awesome!!! 👍🏼
Hi Dennis, these are BFG All Terrains LT265/75R16 mounted on 16x8 rims with -20 offset. Hope it helps :-)
@@k44_4wd Great, thanks! I'm planning to do the same setup on my 95series. Or, 275/70-16's. Hope those 'll fit.

Hi can I fitted on my Colorado 285/75/16 and what size lift kit have to use.. thanks
Hi Todor, yes you can fit 31 inch tyres but on full lock they might rub so (even depending on the rim offset) there is a small part of the bodywork which needs to be twisted inwards (inner front mudguard at backside), I have a 2 inch lift kit. Good luck!
Brother I also have 1kz PRADO TZ , it has inter cooler on it , but your 1kz doesn’t have intercooler on it why ? I’ve never seen this type of 1KZ in J90
Hi Zark, not sure about the TZ specs - my understanding is that some have the intercooler, some just don't. In fact here there is mention that "The intercooler equipped version of the engine..." which implies the 2 versions. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_KZ_engine

You have hit the nail right on the head all you have said is true You need deep pockets to run a disco. Land Rover have been making mechanics out of drivers since 1948 .......and continue doing it today.. If they were as reliable as a Land Cruiser they really would be a world beater but they don't even come close.
