“My grandmother called ketchup ‘’kepchuk’.” *googles kepchuk* *pours bleach into eyes*
👏🤝
In 1986 I bought an Amiga and played arctic fox on it. This was a tank game but it simulated tv guided missiles in a 3d battle space. Obviously if I could play that I can’t imagine what kind of simulations were used by the military The fall of the Soviet Union was celebrated at the time because we had been living under a nuclear threat for years. However in hindsight it wasn’t good to lose our competition. We distinguished ourselves by being the land of the free, but we soon became a nanny state All that technology advantage was turned against our own people and now I believe we are under the watchful eye of an AI so powerful you can’t even imagine. As we slept satanic forces hungry for power took over the world’s governments. They turned us away from God and the government tried to become our new God. What started out as a wonderful and magical time became twisted and perverted. I pray to God for help, and I hope that we can once again live in peace and freedom under God
I'm from bali, i know the place because of you sir 😅
Video CDs were crazy popular in places in Southeast Asia where the muggy tropical weather would quickly ruin VHS tapes, but I didn't know that the Eastern Bloc had them too. Guess as long as they were easy to bootleg, right?
I dont consider back-engineering inventive. You didn't invent something if you cloned it. Making a circuit from scratch is significantly harder than having a working unit sitting infront of you.
Riggs is the classic lazy white American
Wait a minute....you had System Shock 2 on the PS2?! I would have done anything just to play that on my PS2. Was it the actual game? How did it run? Can you show us what it looks like?
There’s something charming about those games. I grew up on the US machines he references, but I feel like there’s something special about the analog nature of those.
The game cartridges also being the screens kinda reminds me of a Dreamcast VMU
It’s always a joy to hear about how members of a closed off economy got to experience something that was considered almost unanimous to the rest of the world. I guess in the end, human ingenuity triumphs over strict border control
“And here we see the Soviet fish eating dragonfly in its natural habit, annoying the crap out of this innocent cat,”
11:58 don’t forget, the SNES was already toying with 3D planes with F-Zero
Just discovered this channel, great videos, and I myself living in Estonia find myself discovering some of these 90s bootlegs. Have the discs in your collection been backed up for preservation?
Fascinating. I wasn't aware of the TIA-MC1. I hope the rest of the games are found.
In Poland hugo was very popular, our Hugomania kept going until 2009, and even now Hugo's insanely popular among Polish Gen Z and Millenials as a piece of nostalgia.
Make a video on homebrew for the Spectrum and how Russian stuff has become better than anything released commercially
@6:34 I love that cabinet
@12:24 I like this industrial-inspired design more than some of the consumer-oriented cabinets we got in the US.
Sorry I got a few questions, I mean No Disrespect when I ask. Was the Games consider underground or can you go to store. Was it smuggle in? Were the games filled with Propaganda? Was the guy who invented Tetris really from Russia? One more sorry, I grew up knowing folks called Russia "Mother Russia" do they still call your Country That? "I mean no disrespect, I love Retro Games. I bet it was kool building your own Consoles.
Here in capitalist America videogame plays YOU! 🤡
Anyone knows the name of the F1 game that appears at 2:15 it's like Chicago Coin Speedway, KASCO Indy 500, SEGA Grand Prix or NAMCO F1/F-X, but different, it looks better, more realistic. I know most of these games and I'm fascinated by them, but I can't ID this one
Russia makes an unofficial sequel to little samson 2 one day.
Galloping ghost arcade and the Soviet arcade museum are two examples of how arcade places are represented to the community in dofferent aspects. Good video
Indian✍🏻 nightmare✍🏻 on✍🏻 elmstreet✍🏻
Bro...90s russian internet trolls sounds like a nightmare 😂😂😂😂
I just recently found this channel and have been watching videos here and there. In every single video, there's something that makes me laugh so hard that I have to pause and calm down before continuing. In THIS video, it's that _Rescue Rangers_ commercial. How very Russian of it. XD
so interesting!
interesting but also i realize you were living like 15-20 years behind us in north america at the time. I was born in 1980 and the stuff you showed for 80s was like stuff well, well before my time. i found the later games you showed the most interesting because they were more original. Don't shit on the clunkiness of your games too much, believe me there were some real piece of shit games here at the time too. So many trash games on Atari 2600.
100th comment! Instant subscribe, you rock my guy!
@9:00 they even pirated the Indiana Pacers Logo .. !!!
So damn depressing
Just discovered your youtube. I'm enjoying your videos, learning a different perspective on retro gaming. Thanks for sharing. Might have to add the Dendy to my collection wishlist.
I reckon UA-cam is blocking him from the algorithm because he’s Russian which is sad because these video are really good and high quality found your channel today already binge watching
In no way shape or form am I trying to bash on the Russians when I asked this, but was the Soviet union really depressing I mean, even the game seem a bit depressing it just seems like there was a lack of enthusiasm and anything besides the military and industrial complexand espionage it really seems like a depressing place at the time
The magazine, 'Video ace' or 'Video ass'? Which one was it called?
UA-cam Search: VHS Vs. Communism. Its a 'NY Times' video.
I seen a documentary about this lady & guy who dubbed American vhs tapes into russian back in the 80s & 90s, they said these two people voiced practically every American vhs movie smuggled into the USSR. One of the films they dubbed was 'Terminator 2' I recall.
Irina Margareta Nistor, was her name... Just looked it up.
Are you really Russian?
Excellent video, lots of beautiful information! I wanted to ask you if you know any website where I can download the roms to play any of those games! Thank you very much, greetings from Argentina!
Great English speech!
so good! In 90s I see PS1 video movie CD. Working on fishing vessel with Armenians who have PS1 with erotic and other movie. Always wonder why no movies on western PS1! 😮
So in short, PC Master Race eventually extended to the USSR.
I live in the United States. This kind of content is really fascinating to me. It gives a glimpse of Soviet life from an "on-the-ground" view -- not from government, propoganda, the military, or even religious perspective. It's just "stuff that normal Soviet people had when I was born." I love it and want to see more. :)
I love the last game. That would be a great machine to reproduce for todays collectors. I think the soviet machines had a cool look and very retro looking and definitely desirable. Thanks for the video! 😀
I just figured you played Tetris and only Tetris. ;)
оо, Уютный Подвальчик, давно тебя смотрю
I always thought electromechanical games were cool
