Our mission is as simple as it is compelling: to help preserve vanishing chicken breeds from around the world. We do this by forming an informal partnership with people like you to help build what is essentially a distributed gene bank of rare chicken breeds. We import chickens from the four corners of the globe --and we also search for rare breeds right in here in America-- and propagate those breeds to protect them from extinction. Backyard chicken hobbyists all across the United States and Canada join in this mission, and as a result chicken breeds that teetered on the brink of extinction are protected and fostered for the day their genetic gifts can once again be pressed into service.
