Lancaster Bomber Dambusters Raid Commemorative Flypast - 16 May 2023

The Dambusters raid - officially known as Operation Chastise - was the task of No. 5 Group RAF, who formed a new squadron for the operation. 617 Squadron was formed, under the command of Wing Commander Guy Gibson.
This evening - 16 May 2023 - on the 80th Anniversary of the Raid, a Lancaster bomber did a commemorative flypast of 28 Lincolnshire airbases.
This video was captured at 19:15 over RAF Scampton from where the raid was launched all those years ago.
Most of the 28 bases have not been active for many decades, but RAF Scampton closed just a few months ago.
The flypast was exceptionally moving.
How lucky we (young-ish ones) are today to never have witnessed a conflict spanning continents. I cannot imagine being faced with choices, or no choice, 80 years ago.
Lest we forget.

Thank you, this is helpful. We've been contemplating a bathroom remodel and I definitely want to get rid of the tub/shower combo. Over the last 25 years in our house, I've had 2 broken ankles and 2 foot surgeries and ruptured discs in my back so I've had to deal with shower chairs and trouble stepping over a tub from time to time. I want just a shower with no lip. But, you brought up some good concerns, so thank you! I'm truly not sure what to do. I also don't want a glass enclosure. I have a friend who has a huge beautiful shower but the glass MUST be squeegied (spelling?) every single time. That takes all the joy out of a long hot shower. Any suggestions?

We bought a house with a wetroom and underfloor heating. There are no positives, absolutely stupid idea.
What a shame! I think the wet room fad should be confined to hot climates! Did you find a way to make it work for you?
@@allspicehome I am going to have to take the floor up as it has buckled, but all the negative points you make are spot on, dreadful idea. Will remove the underfloor heating and just put a LVT floor. It's only a small room so hard to do anything with it.
Iโm having to move to a ground floor due to health but Iโve inherited a really ugly wet room that has nothing apart from the shower, sink and toilet. Itโs horrible. Iโm gutted.

When I was a lot younger we had family Christmases at my great aunt's house, a massive, four storey affair in Kent, the sort of thing you might find in an Agatha Christie TV adaptation. I slept in the lower ground floor which housed an unusual style of bathroom, a room entirely tiled and where the floor sloped down to the drain under the shower. Even as a child I thought it was ingenious, mostly because it was relatively small and could (probably) be cleaned just by blasting everything with the shower

How do you take off the slyder brand caps from the side
They are just held in with tiny clips. Slide a spoon handle or blunt knife down the back and pop the cover off! Good luck!
How do you put back in place please. I have taken mine out but how do you lock back in place
Hi Mandy, It's the reverse of the video. Pull the silver slides all the way out of the cabinet. Then line up the drawer and set onto the slides at an angle and slowly push in. It's much easier with 2 people. I can't remember of you need to pull up the buttons each side - I doubt it. Best of luck. Let me know how you get on.
