Washing tip- I use cage liners foe my guinea pigs and when I was I hose them off first to get as much urine out as possible so I'm not washing in pee water. I do use the vinegar. I also put my pads to dry in the sun as the UV rays are a natural disinfectant. I do live in Georgia so I'm sure many people in the winter won't have this option

From one ferret owner to another, you know that my ferret is being treated for insulinoma for a year and a half. This past Wed he monthly vet visit his sugar went down to 64 up his meds and he was having a hard time in the car with not being able to hold weight on his back legs legs and was ok Thur and Fri then last night he is dragging his back end, besides that just wants to sleep. He's eating but no change, want to wait till tomorrow and talk to his vet but mapped out the ER hospital in case. This is so hard to watch , can you give me any advice in any way possible, a shoulder. Ferrets are so different from dogs or cats and I'm the only one that I know that has a ferret ( first time being a ferret Mommy) this little fur angel is giving me grey hair. What to do, think any advice please!

Thank you, this is great info. To add on to what you said about the Benadryl, yes, talk to your vet. Our vet will give our ferrets a shot of Benadryl prior to giving them an immunization, and they base the dosage on the ferret's weight. Probably not a huge difference going from ferret to ferret, but if you have really big ferrets and really small ferrets, it might make a huge difference. We used to use honey for our ferrets with insulinoma and it worked fine, but our vet had mentioned Karo syrup so we gave that a try and it seems to work faster than honey (even though the honey works pretty quick).

I don't know why I just saw this now. I am so sorry to hear about Weasel's passing. You did the right thing. I lost my 19 year old cat in March and it is devastating. My cat also had lymphoma and like you, I had to make the decision to not let her suffer anymore. We hurt so they don't have too. Hugs to you and your babies❤

Personally I will be leaving the opening on the end of the strap. Once it is turned you can insert the other strap inside the hole to give a nicer finish on the seam.
