Mossberg Plinkster Breaking In & Reviews
Probably the least expensive firearm on the market. However you do pay a price in the form of "breaking it in" My experience is that hey jam a lot. Other .22 rifles like Ruger don't have a break in period, nor do they seem to have problems with ammo. That being said, the plinkster is extremely light and an accurate plinking rifle.

Bad Ammo? .22LR Mossberg Plinkster Jamming
Переглядів 22 тис.11 років тому
CCI Mini-Mag 22lr vs Winchester Super-X .22 lr Ammo Apparently firearms need to be 'broken in' or at least the Mossberg Plinkster does. The Winchester Ammo would jam 1 out of 5 rounds. That's not an acceptable rate by any means. Let me know your experience. I'd really love to hear it.

Magazine or Clip? Gun Talk

Often times a magazine is inaccurately called a clip. While harmless enough, and most informed gun enthusiasts overlook the inaccurate terminology, there remain some who choose to berate and belittle the layman who mistakenly calls a magazine a clip. Having the same issue, every 5 to 7 rounds are jamming, haven't tried it yet but a gunsmith told me to smack the filled clip on the back side before loading to make sure all the rounds are seated correctly. He said the clip is the issue, or maybe ammo lol. I'll let you know, or you let me know if it works for you.

  • @MikeTrieu

    I don't think that perforated brass disc is a filter. It's more likely a gas flow restrictor to prevent over-pressurization of the cartridge and having it just blow up in your hand the moment the puncturing pin breaches the gas cylinder seal. They probably wanted a relatively controlled, sustained release of the propellant and that was a cheap method of doing so. You can think of it like the flow restrictors in a lot of shower heads these days. The water pressure in many houses are high enough to be somewhat dangerous, so flow restrictors can bring that pressure down to a reasonable level.

    • @exMuteKid
      @exMuteKid 11 місяців тому

      Wow you are really just pulling stuff outta nowhere huh. It’s a liquid nitrogen or CO2 cartridge meaning the pressure is dependent on ambient temperature and elevation. deltaT and deltaP. Just like in an airgun. Also a flow restrictor is literally just small gas port hole in most cases, the filter he was referring to was the black fabric and the perforated disc is the support for the filter so it doesn’t get damaged and works reliably when exposed to high pressure discharge. I’m not a taser expert but it seems like there most likely wouldn’t be a need for a flow restrictor since they design both the gas canister and the cartridge, so they most likely fill the canister with enough gas plus a little extra to prolong shelf life, and then they’d just put a little extra strength in the taser gun itself so that it doesn’t explode. Many BB guns are made of plastic that use CO2 cartridges and they don’t explode… If they can dose the amount of propellant to be just enough for a single shot when punctured then there’s no reason why the frame can’t be made of plastic with steel reinforcement when the gas port is just like those cheap CO2 BB guns do. Except the BB guns need a flow regulator because the entire cartridge isn’t meant to be dumped all at once like the taser is.

    Man, I thought you were going to touch on what I was wanting to understand! Ok, so that angled sharp pin obviously punctures the nitrogen canister. BUT HOW DOES IT DO THIS? How does it travel TOWARDS the canister, to puncture it? I heard that at the front of the plastic box, where the gate doors are, that little pin u see is a little primer that is activated by the same electrical "lightning" that travels through the wires, darts, and into the target person. Supposedly there will be an arc that travels between the tips of the two darts, and THAT ARC will hit or short or Im not sure if Im using the right word, but the PRIMER gets "shocked", ACTIVATED, and the energy shoots the sharp angled puncture thingie rearward and that in turn releases the nitrogen propellant for the darts to fly forward! CAN YOU PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK? Best video by far, discussing how these things work! Thankyou

      @British Airways Boeing 747-436 my brother no disrespect but you totally didnt answer my questions. What moves the sharp needle into the cannister to puncture and release the nitrogen propellant? Is it moved electrically or physically by a spring or hammer?

      My Pulse cartridge is constructed very similar to this one. My understanding after dissecting mine is that the small primer embedded in the cartridge explodes with sufficient force to drive that small spike into the gas cylinder where the expanding gas (nitrogen?) quickly floods the two barrels that house the barbs and foam rubber gas seals as well as a couple other channels that blow the plastic doors off the cartridge and spray that ID confetti everywhere.

    a cheaper gun is more cheaply made and may need a certain ammo for a few hundred rounds. I always clean a new gun from chamber to muzzle (Otis round pouch kit) before any firing. A 1-22 Ruger is not like a $99 made in Brazil Mossberg/Rossi semi-auto. Just accept that.

  • @DougHinVA
    @DougHinVA 4 роки тому

    a cheap semi-auto brand new is not yet cleaned thoroughly by most owners. Ammo is not guaranteed to work well in every rifle on the market. Accept that and switch to a brand that gives good results for the first few hundred rounds.

    CCI has a good reputation but I did get a brick of CCI Blazer that caused failures to feed, failure to ignite, etc. in my 702 as well as my Bersa Thunder .22lr. Fortunately, I only had that problem once with CCI ammo, which remains my favorite for .22lr shooting.

    So the battery within the gun "taps" the canister and the compression within the canister propels the needle/barbs. So you didn't show how the electrocution charge is inflicted on the criminal. In other words the taser battery has to connect and stay connected to the bars somehow. After all it is from the Taser's battery that the "juice" is delivered to the criminal.

    What other guys report is just what they post.... pay it no mind and use common sense. Swab out the action from the side and below with no mag in it. I used a Q-tip and then swished the inside on the mag with alcohol (in a shallow flat container). Shake it dry and after the alcohol evaporates... a Q-tip end damp with cleaner/lube can put the inside of the mag to lubricate it. I used a table knife handle (or use a small dowel) to push the follower/spring down. Feeding problems are generally a sticky mag and light cleaning in the throat of the action will remove a lot of dirt or thickened grease. Clean the barrel only from the breech to the muzzle with a Boresnake and patch or equivalent.
