This is sooooo helpful thank you
Really well thought out and presented. Thank you.
I noticed that if I don't have a headache, I got ringing in the ear instead. Pretty strange condition. I got double vision. I'm sure I got it from looking at my phone for too long. It started with sinus and ear infections. I believe it came from poor nutrition and yeast infections. I didn't go to the doctor. I just pray and do intermittent fasting and running twice a day as a form of exercise. Drinking water a lot helps. I thought it was TMJ and vertigo. I'm glad the tinnitus is getting low sound and sometimes I don't hear it anymore. Trust your body to heal. Avoiding gluten, wheat, peanuts, sugar, dairy and all junk foods. Praying for everyone's healing to happen. I'm 56 years old. I got the symtoms 2 years ago when my both parents died from covid and I can't travel to see them. 😢
Does this affect blood sugar and blood pressure readings?
People may also want to research Cerebral Spinal Fluid leaks. They are finding more and more people suffering from this with chronic headaches and being mistakenly diagnosed with migraines. There is new ground breaking research being done in this area.
Last August 10th I was extremely dehydrated and it felt like my brain was boring out of the top of my head. Long story short as of today April 24th 2024 I am still not write. I feel pretty good in the morning when I get up, I sleep sound but the more I walk around the worse my head feels . If I go lay down I feel fine. It use to feel like jello shaking in my head where now it's firmer now but still shake but a stiffer feeling. After up to long or if I do too much it's like a feeling of shock or pressure all around the top of my head. When I tell my doctor this they look at me like a deer in the head lights, even a brain doctor I went too a few weeks ago said he had no glue. After researching on Google I finally found an article by Dr. Howard LeWine in a Harvard paper how extreme dehydration could cause leakage in the meninges which sounded exactly what I have been experiencing. Also since this has happened everyday my left nostril is stuffed up when I wake up and drains for the next couple of hours before it stops. Nasil spray helps. I wrote a note to my regular doctor saying I think I have a CSF can she refer me to someone that know this situation. Jimcarlton731@gmail.com
I have every symptom including severe swooshing and pulsatile tinnitus which doesn’t allow me to sleep at all some nights and I have nausea a lot as well , I have MS and this was found on a MRI to find I have empty sella but nobody listens to how I’m feeling and my severe tinnitus not just ringing in my ears and the doctor said don’t we all have tinnitus and I said no not the type I’m having it’s severe heart beating in my ears worse at night but this severe pain in my right ear is 8-10 level of pain? I also have Hashimoto thyroiditis and mixed connective tissue disease and am positive for ANA and my titers are 1:80 with a specked pattern so I also have lupus rashes kidney disease so I believe I have not cutaneous lupus but SLE my cognitive function is declining my hearing is decreasing my vision compromised blurry and double at times neck pain ear pain is bad heart pounding in my ears and head I’m suffering so bad .
Good luck 👍❤
IIH since 2000...thanks to the Neuro Fellow at UCSF I finally got a VP shunt in that changed my life...after 6 failed LP shunts..
Was diagnosed about a year ago, although it took about 6 years for one doctor to catch it. Glad they found it. However. No relief. Still in terrible pain. Currently been having severe pain since last Tuesday. Started with back pain near spine that travels down the shoulder and tight arm, was seeing a orthopedic, didn’t think nothing of it, until after going to physical therapy and it bought on the headaches that had been u bearable and non relieving and researched that IIH cause cause pain in the spine so now thinking they can be related
Covid vaccine made mine much worse
Or if you can a Covid swab that went to far
I do have a swooshing noise in my ear, hearing loss, pounding and pressure filled headaches every day. It's definitely affected my quality of life. I haven't felt all that great for years. After reading an article and watching this. I can't prove it but this sounds like me.
Get your blood pressure checked a few times...i had your symptoms and it was my blood pressure
@@chrissyk3783 Thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep that in mind for future appointments!
@@aleshapeters Hope you feel well soon!
@@chrissyk3783 Thanks a ton. If anything ever changes, I'll update my comment.
How do I find a physician to treat you for a possible CSF. I had a known CSF in 2010 and had a blood patch and another CSF in 2018 immediately after having my second lumbar spine surgery that warranted a second emergency surgery the next day to close a large leak. Since have been experiencing all the classic symptoms that a CSF can cause since 2017-2018 that I believe started sometime after my cervical spine surgery or the lumbar surgery. I have had three lumbar spine surgeries and the one cervical and honestly since 2018 I began having the headaches first than the other symptoms started causing doctors in all other specialties diagnosing each symptom separately but no one expects a CSF I don’t know how to explain to my doctors to where I am taken seriously. I even have spinal fluid sitting in my lumbar region since 2018 but that hasn’t warranted any concerns from my doctor.
Do you know of any doctors who specialize in pots in the Dallas/frisco/plano area. I’m Convinced I have this.
Just making way upright after 3 days of being on my back. I wish my doctors cared about me.
This is such bull.... nothing works except sumatriptain .... thousands spent ..10 different neurologists...Botox.....nothing for me except sumatriptain....I'm not suffering with your cold turkey get off something that doesn't harm me . Me headaches are suicidal. Tried everything for 30 years
No no not suffering for months when I can just take a sumatriptain daily
Very helpful. Thank you!
Hi
Dr. Pham; A subject that I know too much about... CSF leak can be totally debilitating, and no one can see it... You might have difficulties thinking, speaking, walking, all of which make you have trouble doing daily tasks, and, that's not adding the headache pain that creeps up on you. Getting out of bed in the morning, you just know that your personal "clock is ticking", and, in 30 minutes, or a couple of hours, or by dinner time, your personal descent into disability and pain will begin. So, if you have a CSF leak, or suspect a CSF leak, it's serious business... Fortunately, there is more awareness today, and better diagnostic and treatment possibilities, but, in the USA, without amazing insurance coverage, you might not have access to the kind of resources that are needed for complex, difficult, or just impossible to diagnose. In most of Europe, the government insurance plans should be applicable, but, you need to be aware that even a " neurology specialist " hospital can be 5+ years behind current "best practices", so do your research, and don't allow a " lumbar puncture opening pressure " procedure, which may well be the first diagnostic offered! MRI might be "normal", too, but ask for a " Bern score"... ok, I'm talking too much, but, with one of the "tricky" leaks, I've been down the roadmap and now spend 80% of my time lying down, 2-3 hours down, 30-60 minutes "up time".
Hi thank you for great information. My 21 year old daughter has been diagnosed with POTS symptoms beginning at age 17. However she just recently learned there was a connection between mono and pots and she had bloodwork done many years ago that showed she had mono at some time. So we found the connection interesting and I was looking for further info when I found this video. Anyway.. she has always suffered with migraines as well. The type of migraines she gets is more often the ones where she has symptoms the aura the sensitivity to light feeling nauseous sometimes actually vomiting but no real headache. What type of migraine is this .? Would she need to be seeing a cardiologist or a neurologist for her pots .?
A salam BHI Mera miscarriage hogaya Hai doctor ne bataya Hai k 3 month bad husband se mel Sakti Hai aur pregnant bi hoskti hai
Thanks 👣⚽️🥅♾️"Best Regards"
This gave me a headache.
Botox only works a couple days ..very expensive.
Every single day for years. Why? No one can give me an answer.
Did u get any answer or did it stop, been having the same pain in the exact same place in head every day, mtiple times a day
thabk you
Your wrong about sumatriptan causing MOH..there is no scientific proof and it has never been tested as a preventative yet, which it should be .. I took myself off sumatriptan for 6months it didn't work with stopping them.. the truth is there is no answer..beta blockers , depressants don't work .. I'm fed up of the maybes .
Hello sir I m from Gujarat I have 26X 41 X55 arachnoid cyst noted in involving Retrocerebellar Space So what is the treatment of this type of diagnosis Please reply as early as possible
I have a CSF Leak now, my IIH was never caught correctly. 😭
Everything addressed but the severity of headaches associated with IIH and pain management, as usual. The worst thing about IIH for me is that I have 24/7 headache, that sometimes becomes so excruciating it makes me throw up
TY! Just subscribed. Not wanting to get on Cymbalta for headaches.
Absolutely garbage
Thank you for this. Lots of questions and options to ask from my neurologist
This is so useful for many other medical conditions besides migraine headaches.
Excellent!
Prednisolone
Dan, I'm sending this to the world. There is so much information and woo-woo about hypnosis. It's time to bring it into the open as a viable scientific practice. Best, Sue
What about an arachnoid cyst in the cavernous sinus?
Wanted information about curing headache pain and came across this - thanks for being clear and straight to the point in your summaries and analysis. Much appreciated!
THANK YOU!! I really appreciate this!
If it’s overuse then shouldn’t the migraines lessen when you go cold turkey? Mine didn’t. None of the preventatives work for me….not tried Botox yet so there’s hope
This is very valuable. Three of us, siblings and a niece, experience severe migraine, cluster, and trigeminal neuralgia. My two brothers and my niece are totally disabled though they have good local medical care. They suffer 24/7 despite every available new treatment as well as copious daily opioids. My 55 years of migraine headaches have been ended by Ajovy. I'm seen through UofU neurology. We all live in the Salt Lake City area. Is there any suggestion you might have for my suffering brothers and niece? Sue
The video sound doesn’t work
Whoever chose the music for the disclaimer, has never had a headache.
But CSF leaks are also spontaneous and happen without these 'risk factors'. If you have a positional headache, always get it checked out.
