Message to Filmore from Elliot Easton
Amazingly underrated strings. Their regular phosphors for acoustic, are as good as anything I've used. And I've used everything My favorite strings are SIT phosphors GHS phosphors GHS Americana phosphors Martin authentic phosphors John Pearse 80/20 Newtone Masterclass phosphor Newtone Masterclass double wound phosphor The SITs are as good as any of these and better than alot I listed. Great string that doesn't have that dead thumpy low E. It rings out All US metal. All US made. Under the radar somehow. They blow away Dadarrio imo.
I was going to buy the Rockmace they had forever and decided not to just by the way this guy acted made me think nope. Back then I was buying up Carbon Fiber built Guitars and Rockmace Guitars are VERY rare. Someone ended up buying though
Erik Brann who was lead guitarist for Iron Butterfly play a Mosrite on many of their tracks. 😢 😮
Love the jacket... and the hair.
No, sorry.... in 1963 THE BEACH BOYS were king, not the Ventures. Love the Ventures, but they weren't king.
Too bad the overly loud music tends to make some of her statements inaudible. NICE JACKET, DANA!
C.J. and Jiro...good people!
Maybe someday
got my first moserite in 1968, it was a 12 string and i bought in the town they were being made.Bakersfield,ca
How do I get in contact with you
Do not believe this BITCH, she and her husband stole over $3,000 from me. She is a piece of Shit !!!!!!!!!!
Mornin, in 1970 i bought a moserite 12 string from gutchers music in bakersfield ca it was stolen in 1978 and ive missed that guitar since.
Elliot, you're a little late. Where was your love for Mosrite during The Cars heydays?
this lady and her family should be the sole owner of Mosrite tm et al period end of conversation ............
YOU ~ ROCK ! !
I love my 1973 Celebrity. Without a doubt my favorite guitar. It has original humbuckers which are rare. I would like to learn more about them. The sound and output is phenomenal, And the playability of this guitar exceeds all others.
Own a 66. Love your family’s guitar
Love my Fillmore Mosrite too Elliot 🎸👍 I got the Red White & Blue🇺🇸 Buck Owens tribute model 🎸😎
At least if a company like fender had purchased the company you could guarantee they'd still be here today even if they weren't totally made in the US
I totally love my ‘66 Ventures Model Mosrite in cream!! It means a great deal to me!! ❤️❤️
Can someone post up where to get replacement parts, and how to set up Mosrite guitars?
I cant seem to find the website to find out more, if I can find out more I may want to buy one, if possible. So whats the deal?
So are the real ones being made again, just how they were? How much are the new ones? Anyone know?
I've only gotten to a 'Jay Turser JT-MOS' so far, best guitar i've ever played by far. The goal is a proper mosrite some day.
Can you still buy them new?
Beuty lead
Every question about guitars that I've asked Arty through the decades, he's known the answer.... I've never met anyone with more overall knowledge of guitars.
The Mosrite Mark 1 is my favorite guitar design. Unfortunately the price and the nut width exclude me from owning one, but I do have a Hallmark Custom 65, so I'm not going whine. PS: Elliot is such a fine guitarist, from The Cars to The Empty Hearts. Taste, style, technique. He's got it all.
If you want a real Mosrite in the Ventures / Mark 1 body style, look for a 1970s "V I" or "V 1" model; they have wider necks. The neck _depth_ is still the same, though.
My 1st electric guitar was a mid 60's Mosrite Celebrity purchased at Bath Music in Brooklyn for around $130 in 1975.
That is awesome!
Incredible guitar. Best necks of all time.
You rock Dana!
mosrite forever!
Can you play bass well? Journey needs a new bass player and Neil Schon lives in Nashville. If you can find him let him know you play bass and maybe you can replace Ross the bass player.
Hello Dana
Scott deserves God's wrath the way he lied and totally disrespected me on the phone on top of ripping me off for $3800 ...i have to forgive him though ...i know its wrong to hate
instead, Lord please save Scott Krell's eternal soul ...i forgive you Scott and choose to repay evil with good ...praise Jesus i feel better now!
Scott Krell is the ass who sold me a piece of crap ...biggest ripp offs ever! ...they ripped me off on a $3800 build ...they cracked my ebony and abalone fret-board, and shadily glued it back together thinking it would not be discovered ....by the time got to me, last fret was sticking up so high it was unplayable ...my local luthier tried to replace fret, and the board crumbled ...discovered it was broken and glued back together! ...got pics, and i am currently suing them ...they should have been honest and started over rather trying to pawn it off on me ...tried to call work with Scott Krell their head guy, and he was a complete ass to me as always ....to the point of calling me crazy for saying all the stuff wrong with my guitar ...so many things... frets were crooked ...and heal for neck was cut crooked too ...and they did not tung oil finish guitar as i order it to be ...just stained ...they shipped bare wood! ....and the wrong color ...i said "wine red" they stained it orange! ...could not believe it! ....Scott is the head guy and Mike was luthier who built the guitar ...both were a nightmare to work with ...very dishonest people ...i advise to stay clear of Ed Roman guitars ...they do not honor their work, and they do not honor they customers
Such a good guitarist! He is moving in stereo!
Where can i buy one in 2019?
They made a Japanese reissue in the 1990's readily available on reverb
Texas Toast Guitars in Colorado will build you one.
Here's a better introduction...hi I'm Elliot Easton...one of the most bad ass guitarists who's ever lived!
Do these have a neck truss rod? I can't see where it would be adjusted...
They do. The one Elliott has, has its truss rod adjustment at the body end; behind the Neck pickup. Some of the guitars have it at the headstock, others at the body.
I bought a little crate amp there in the early 80's, glad to see you're still goin' artie!!
Wish I's been smart enough to keep the three Mosrite guitars I've only in the 60's and 70's. I drove my parents crazy on one trip to California to drive to Barker Field plant to buy a Mosrite at the factory. I no longer own these guitars and have not found another guitar that played as well. JW
He's the lost and last Marx Brother.
Just when I thought Elliott couldn't get any cooler he busts out with a Mosrite guitar.
He was going to the Mosrite Forum in 2010, I saw his posts there a bunch of times. It always was a nice, but niche forum without a lot of traffic. Traffic slowed down massively after maybe 2015, though.
I have a 66 from gruhn I was 13 that year I got my 1966 in the 90’s when I could afford it. It takes me back whenever I am around it to my high school band where one of my friends had one I wish mine was in a little better shape I have always loved the design If anyone is looking it is time to pass it to someone who will care for it
when they went bankrupt in the late 60s my dad ken sr bought all their inventory.. necks, bodies, strings and finished guitars...had Gene Moles take care of inventory and build and paint them..they were works of art...they built me a Sunburst Red Left handed...ended up selling and Billy Mize ended up with it..matter of fact Billy MIze bought up all the inventory later and took to his Store in LA....came from Genes Music store on Niles street in Bakersfield California.. was a shame the Moselys lost it all...were great music makers and guitar builders but the economics game took them over....long story on them in bakersfield sound background
and he only went to buy back his Cincinnati Time clock that was for the employees but the bidding was very low.. he bid and got it all...even the orders for guitars unfinished..Gene was building them and shipping to people all over the world..
love the Mosrite guitar! I always think of "Ventures In Space" for some reason.. Great guitar.!
Does Dana still run the shop? Hello Dana...?
WOW she's lucky cuz shes still making guitars and i wish i could meet her and let her make me a johnny ramone guitar
