Ness and Andy’s Travels: UK & Beyond
United Kingdom
Приєднався 20 кві 2013
Welcome to our channel, come with us, that's me Andy and my wife Nessie on our travels, Sunday drives, holidays in the UK and abroad. We hope you enjoy the videos and if you do please like and subscribe.
Llyn Celyn to #Ffestiniog on the B4391 in #Wales and weather is really not playing nice today
We never let the weather stop us making videos, fog, snow, wind or rain we are all tucked up nice and cosy in the big black beast, the only downfall for you as viewers is you very often have to put up with the wipers spoiling the view.
This time we take a drive across the moors, which in the summer are spectacular, but not so much when it’s in the rain, even the view point at Cwm Cynfal was not worthy of a stop as the mountains in the distance were covered in mist although it gives a great atmosphere, and as Ness says very much like a Lord of the Rings feel.
We do hope you enjoy our drive and please comment, and maybe like and subscribe, we would love for you to come along on our travels.

Well we started from home in Sunshine but the further we drove into Wales the more the weather deteriorated, but that never stops us from making UA-cam movies, even though you have to put up with the wipers, sorry. Our drive starts at Llyn Padarn where there is a large car park, ideal for parking and walking into the town of Llanberis, although in the summer this car park fills very quickly so ...

Wales is always one of our favourite driving destinations at anytime of year as long as the weather is not too bad, it’s always interesting to see how the landscape changes during the different seasons and on this trip the autumn colours were out on display, although I think we needed some sun to show off those colours. No time for us to stop in Beddgelert today for an ice cream but as always w...

We snuck in a winter break in Paphos Cyprus, it’s January and weather has been fabulous, 18 to 20 degrees in the daytime down to around 15 in an evening, it can be a bit chilly with the wind blowing in the evening but it’s been wonderful. We can recommend a trip here this time of year, not all restaurants and bars are open but there are enough to choose from and for those that don’t like the he...

Oh gosh 😂😂.
Sad to see the end of Linekers Bar. We have been to those all over Europe I would imagine Bar Street will look different in the summer, the new bar is in a good position and should be lovely when it is done! Best wishes Elaine, Mike, Samuel and Thomas 😍😎👬
Stunning! 😍😎👬
Love watching dogs watching telly. 😁😍😎👬
Great video. We saw you on Matt and Becs channel and thought we would check your channel out. We went to Paphos years ago - have they still got a pelican walking around? The hotel sounds good - :do the staff recognise you now? We may look at the Airbnbs near the harbour so thanks for sharing. We have subscribed to you now. Good to meet you Best wishes Elaine, Mike, Samuel and Thomas 😍😎👬
Thanks for coming along and checking out our channel and subscribing, we are regular visitors to Paphos, Yes the pelican is still there in the Harbour, they don't have him there in the winter but he will be back in the spring. The Alexander hotel is wonderful and we have been staying there since 2015, we normally go twice a year but this year we will be there 5 times, the staff all know us well from the manager down and many are also friends on facebook. If you do go to Paphos and happen to be there the same time as us we could always meet up. All the best 😊 Andy
@NessandAndy yes indeed and thanks for the info! We look forward to storing your channel. 😍😎👬
Another beautiful drive. You can't beat a drive in Wales, even on a wet and misty day. Great upload. Matt & Bec 😊❤
@@MattandBecExplores-lt9vf Morning, It’s very ethereal when the weather is wet and misty on a drive in Wales, we enjoy as much as a sunny day. Enjoy your day ❤️😊 Andy
Thanks Andy, we shall look forward.
Absolutely Andy, although I can’t do it anymore the memories are more than precious for myself and Dawn. My parents also enjoyed Wales for many years.
@@peterhunt2723 I know Peter you have explained, but hopefully our travels will keep bringing you back lots of memories, and you can explore new roads in Wales with us when we go there on our travels 😊
Not done this one Andy, looks a bit remote in spots!
@@peterhunt2723 Another lovely drive Peter and it is quite remote in places, that’s what I love about Wales you can find so many roads off the beaten track, we have more to discover yet, already found them, just need to get around to driving them 😊
Been along this road a few times over the years, first was about 1970. It’s always been kept in fair condition.
@@peterhunt2723 Evening Peter, it’s in a better state than many A roads and always a reasonable good road trip with hardly any potholes, let’s hope it stays that way 😊 Andy
Absolutely Andy, we’ve done the route in all seasons over some 50 years and it’s always interesting 🤨
I disagree with the "miserable weather" aspect. When I go to Turkey, I soak it all in. When I go to Llanberis, I soak whatever it throws at me all in. It comes with the territory! If you truly want to be depressed then head to London! 😂
Oh you won’t get me near a city, I like you would rather have the rain and mist in Wales than go to a city, we never get depressed with the weather if we did we wouldn’t go out in it making videos 😉 Andy
Totally agree with you Katherine! As you can probably hear from the videos, I'm a born & bred Londoner but since discovering my inner country girl, I wouldn't go back to the 'smoke' if you paid me! Ness xx
Quite a memory lane for me Too went to schools 🏫 l in Wolsingham on that road loads thank you
Hi Kathrine, thanks for watching, glad we brought back some memories for you 😊 Andy
Sooo cute. He's loving that 😊❤
He ate some of the leaves off the top so had to cut the rest off 🤣 ❤😊 Andy
Love Llanberis. Such a lovely drive with mountain views. Even on a dull day it still looks beautiful. Hope you have a great week. Matt & Bec 😊❤
Morning both, we love that drive up through the mountains and have driven it many times over the years in all weathers and no doubt we will be going that way again sometime. Have a great week both ❤😊 Andy
Looks like a lovely village/location. Beautiful country roads. A great place to visit. Enjoyed watching. Matt & Bec 😊❤
There are some lovely hidden places on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border, and lovely scenery on a good day, a bit different to Wales, thanks for watching ❤😊 Andy
My first holiday in Wales was to Llandudno with my mum and dad 1957. Really enjoyed and started countless visits to Wales until 2022
@@peterhunt2723 Mum and dad had some friends who moved to Llandudno and we used to go and stay with them when I was little, late 50’s early 60’s, looks like we were both regular visitors to Wales from an early age 😊Andy
Weren’t we lucky fellows!
@ That we were Peter and I suppose that gave us the love we feel for Wales 😊
Fantastic explore. I hate the drive upto Beddgelert, the roads are so tight. Such a beautiful place but it really does get busy, especially in peak season. Lovely driving tour. Very much enjoyed watching. Matt & Bec 😊❤
Llandrindod wells , Landdod in english \That wood carving is a Llandoddie - There are many scattard about the lake and woodlands . A made up local legend, But we all love the doddies . even us English who have made there home in the Dod xx

I am blessed enough to drive these roads every day of my working life. Yes, I actually get paid to see such beauty everyday. 😊
@@neilmcguinness4422 You are very lucky, although we live in the countryside in Shropshire it does not match Anglesey 😊 Andy
Stayed in a cottage by lake Crafnant near Trefriw in 1969, boy it was very remote!

First time I stayed in Beddgelert was with my wife and my mum and dad in 1971, grand memories indeed!
@@peterhunt2723 it’s a lovely place and we have eaten at the cafe a few times, even took Ness for a walk up towards the mountain once, nearly killed her 🤣 Andy
So cute 😂😊❤
Thanks very much Lord Andy and Lady Ness, I actually watched it, and forgot to comment, to much going on in my little head, truly fabulous to see you both, and we truly thank you both for your promotion, but much more importantly you generosity and friendship, we both thank you from the bottom of our two hearts.. 💓💃😎
Lovely little episode, thanks for coming to see us, well Little Old Me, and we will look forward to seeing you both in May, Oh and the TikTok videos, will there be dancing, and you never know maybe a little bit of romancing.. 😉😁😎

Loved seeing your adventures in Paphos. Glad you've had a great time. Exciting that you are returning. Matt & Bec 😊❤

Its looking so good! Shame you can't make the opening, we will actually be flying in on the same day I subscribed to M&M 3 years ago! Still can't get used to seeing Mr Paul without his hat and sunglasses 🤣
@@SallyBriars94 Coming on nicely Sally, although I think Paul may need to have a few late nights to get it finished on time, but whatever he will have it open on the 15th, it is a shame we can’t be there as we would love to be there to meet all our friends and make new ones xx ❤️😊
@NessandAndy hope everything gets done for the 15th, I'm sure myself and Matt can lend a hand if need be the few days we're there before the opening, I'm sure we will see each other again next year, we won't make it this summer like we thought 😕 xx
@ I’m sure Paul will be glad of any help before the opening, he’s very good at finding jobs for people to do, especially if it’s getting close to the official opening xx and I’m sure we will meet up again before too long xx ❤️😊
Thanks very much Lord Andy and Lady Ness, it was great to see you, and thanks for a fabulous evening get together, and if you fancy popping in again please do, see you soon.. 😉❤️😎

Penrhyndeudraeth is a tricky one to pronounce. We know this place very well. There is a lovely tower not far from Penrhyndeudraeth. Great video. Matt & Bec ❤😊
Hi, yes it is a tricky one, google is a great help and we have been practising for next time were out that way, not been to the tower although we have been to Portmeirion several times, we are also booked in there for a weekend in May, have a great day ❤😊 Andy
Driven this road countless times 1969 to 2022 on our way from Nottinghamshire to Penrhyndeudraeth and Porthmadog in all seasons. Sadly age has put an end to our jaunts but grand memories of wonderful times……..!
@@peterhunt2723 It’s a road I know very well too Peter, it was the way dad used to take us to Black Rock Sands in the 1960’s, I can still remember the trip as I fell in love with the scenery on the way, maybe that’s why I love Wales so much and now Ness has the same bug, at least watching our trips it brings memories back for you Peter as you can no longer travel, we shall always making trips into Wales in between our other adventures 😊 Andy
Black Rock Sands…….spent some super days there. We’ve travelled around UK a fair bit over more than 50 years but that east/west journey, using minor roads, has always been our favourite and so much of it remains little changed. We have also been lucky in that an old friend went to live in Penrhyndeudraeth in 2010 so for 12 years we we could go and stay very regularly. Please keep up the trips, you entertain us wonderfully?

@@NessandAndy Have you ever thought about driving from Hay-on-Wye down to Abergaveny. and the home run is easy for you as the road to Hereford is first rate A-class. My grandparents were married at Cludock Church and lived at Longtown till 1934. My grandmother's father kept the pub Ain Longton till the 1920s. My Uncle George [born 1920] used to walk cattle from Longtown to Hay and the other way round as small child wish just a dog for help. Hard to imagine that nowadays!
