Highlighting the great public land and water we have the privilege to explore, hunt and fish on.
2024 Minnesota Snowpocalypse.... sorta
We finally got hit with the storm of the year up here in Duluth. Honestly, it wasn't as bad as they said it was going to be. At least I got a snow day out of it. #winter #snowstorm in #minnesota.

Jay Cooke fishin' on the fly

It's a beautiful day in This Great Land of Ours, and naturally, I couldn't resist getting out on a stream with my fly rod. Went to a place in Jay Cooke State Park where I know there are some decent bass. Although I didn't catch a bunch of tanks like I was hoping, I still had a great time catching a few mini-bass and admiring the park on a nice, sunny day. #flyfishing #bass #minnesota #statepark

Reeling in a Lake Superior northern pike
I fished that river with my fly rod back in ‘94
How was the fishing that day? Looked like there are plenty of good pools to toss flies.
That looks like a steelhead stream.
It definitely looks like it. From what I hear, it's the Skokomish is known for its salmon.
Your wife is so cool.
Haha, she certainly is! Hope you're doing well nowadays!
Domesticated.
That walleye is stuffed. Don’t believe him.
That's a load of malarkey. That walleye was a tank!
Wonder could this be considered urber eats or grub hub
The reason your car insurance gose up
Very true! Also, the reason why city bowhunters are so successful.
You got that right
Here comes another farmers commerical
In Upstate New York has been a rollercoaster of a hunting season. We have had snow several times but it has melted away. Bad year for many hunters. Just not seeing mature bucks. Lot of young bucks.
Same here minus the snow. Hard for hunters in the northern WI/MN area. Very mild weather. Harvest rates are down. I'll be out in the woods until the end of Dec, then I'll be out on the ice, if it's even thick enough.
Yeah
He'll ya man I love hunting season
I love this song so much also ive been there!
It's a pretty rad spot to just sit and chill

I was born in Duluth but now I live in Britt lol
What rod reel are you using?
I don't know what model reel, but it's a Sage, and the rod is a Sage Foundation. 6 weight setup.
Looked like a green sunfish, what rod reel combo are you using
Could be. I'm not too good at IDing fish that tiny. My buddy told me that I probably caught creek chubs, not juvenile bass. I don't remember my specific reel model, but it's a Sage, and my rod is a Sage Foundation. 6 weight setup.
Thanks for sharing. Both times my wife and I visited Custer State Park, we stayed in a Blue Bell cabin. It's such a perfect place. Not sure if you are still there, but I fly fished both times, and I had the best action along the Grace Coolidge walk-in area, starting at the downstream end on 16A.
CSP is such an awesome place. Unfortunately, I only fished down off the horse trail at Blue Bell. I wish I would've been a little more adventurous and fished some other places. Next time I'm out in CSP, I'll check out the Grace Coolidge area.
@@ThisGreatLandofOurs I hear ya -- so much to see and never enough time there. I have that section of French Creek on my "to fish" list for next time, along with some creeks outside the park.
Looks like custard state park
It is. South end of the park.
who trims there hoofs?
Their hooves get naturally trimmed down by traveling several miles a day
Wild Burro plus Horse equals Mule.
Barbecued Burro?
Where is Chub Lake.... Fowler?
I always love that one spot on the Irvin where the kids free banner keeps the paint nice and shiny.
I had no idea that you could catch northerns from shore until just today. I nabbed a nice one off the boardwalk near the rose garden. Couldnt believe it.
Yeah, just goes to show you never know until you start casting
Hey man I’m moving to the Duluth area soon and wondering if you know of any good shore fishing spots in Duluth or superior!?
I know of a couple good spots. Check out the McQuade harbor in between Duluth and Two Harbors. Island lake has decent shore spots by the south bridge. If you like fly fishing for trout, there's numerous streams on the north and south shore to explore.
Boulder lake dam
you betcha don't ya know.
I would have never thought a nothern would get that far out into the big lake.
You can find northern in all the harbors and ports of Lake Superior. They can get pretty big in Superior.
