Oh man Just learn something new. All these years I thought eight-track was just the name of the form factor of the cassette. Had no idea it literally could be selected into a different tracks, same with the four track. Very cool man! My grandma had hundreds and hundreds of eight tracks when my dad cleared out her house after she passed. Shame there was really no market for them back then, had he held on to them perhaps along with all the records could have been worth something nowadays. Very cool man Thanks for the video!
I just dug one of these when clearing my father's house. Brings back memories as a kid. Unfortunately, didn't find the speakers. Any advice on how to buy a new speaker that I could get to work with it.
I inherited one of these from my brother-in-law in 1979, and when I tried to put it into my '74 LeMans, it wouldn't quite fit...until I removed that little handle. At that point it wedged perfectly between the dashboard and the console; I drove it four years with no other mounting, and it never slipped. Lots of miles, lots of good times, with that Powerplay light flashin' away (or steadily on 🙂). Never dreamed I'd see one operating in this century; good job, sir.
Ok I’m the person who bought this from ebay. it will be a welcome addition to my collection because it’s serviced and I don’t have to fool with this one unlike the other Muntz deck I have where the head is worn out.
Memories of listening to my Muntz 4 track tapes in my '64 VW beetle (installed in glove compartment with speakers in the rear on either side under the back seat windows)...I can hear it now!
this guy is a crook he does the bate a switch i bought this unit and he sent a different one that did not work now he wont answer any emails ,dont fall for it i was to get this and he is still using this to nrip mpeople off,
Superb condition! Could you please confirm the structure of the back plug? Looking straight to the back, the two left holes are for power and the two right holes are for the speakers? Thank you! Looking forward to restore mine
Have you thought about making repair videos, to show the process you go through as you service these decks? I'm trying to teach myself to repair 8 track machines, including this unit. Looks like your videos are mostly demos for selling on ebay, but if you were to title your videos by the make and model number, I'm betting you'd see a jump in video views from people like me. Great to see these old units in working condition!

Keep magnets away from recorded tapes.
Precision and good sounds. Thank you for Demo.
You're not concerned about speaker magnets ruining tapes that are so close to them?!

What are the inner face/dial and buttons and player measure height and width? Is it made to fit a 1972 Buick Riviera? Do you know?
