Since 1946, Formed Plastics, Inc. has been recognized as an industry leader in custom rotational molding, thermoforming, and fabrication. At the same time, our proprietary post-top globes, refractors, and spheres have been lighting the way in municipalities throughout the country. Whether you are searching for a partner to assist with the design and manufacture of your own project or looking to purchase high-quality plastic globes, Formed Plastics is the solution.
Our videos will give you a glimpse of the manufacturing processes at Formed Plastics and allow you to see how your project will come from design to roll-out.

how to avoid color fade
how to apply
Great video. Horrible music.
The traffic cone funnel impressed me the most
Why's there blow from the mold side before dropping pressure head?
I'm working with the local civil protection director to make a prototype of a torpedo style rescue floatation device to be donated and mounted on natural wood posts at our most historically dangerous beaches. These torpedoes are abusively priced ($150 USD), not available locally here in México and not available in all-natural materials but I'm working to change that. We need a local bioplastics supplier with materials well suited for this purpose with sheet plastic that can be manually heat-formed over a mold. And for a much larger scale impact, we need an estimate of the cost of mold that could be used with recycled plastics, bioplastics and biodegradable plastics also to blow mold them for us. If we can raise the funds to pay for the mold ourselves, the devices can be relatively very inexpensive which will make them very accessible and help save lives everywhere they're used.
nice work👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
IS it Polycarbonate sheet ?
perfeito
Trabalho sensacional este !
This is a very informative video, nice work.
What is it?
I’ve heard it is an exploratory device meant to show us the depths of the Baltic Sea. That being said I’m no plastic expert.
Which machine is used to mix colour and plastic powder ?
We are Wenling Rising Sun Rotomolding Technology CO.,LTD in China , which is specialized in rotomolding machine ,mold and product ,more than 18 years experience on rotomolding. This is our website : www.wlxuri.com & www.rsroto.com . My Email is sales02@wlxuri.com
can i use polyurethane for this process, what grade should it be?
What temperature are you melting HDPE at? Started running a extrusion machine in the shop, now looking to try building a DIY roto mold
this is horribly inefficient. thermoforming can do this for about 10% and extremely faster. you can fuse thermoformed to become one with same properties
i'm no plastic expert, but just a little googling shows that's not really the case for something like a cooler.
I see so now. Not all plastic parts/objects can be made with thermoforming
Rotomolding produces very strong parts, this can never be matched by injection molding or thermoforming. Of course, it has it drawbacks, but so is every other manufacturing process.
Try doing a 5000L water box by thermoforming. Impossible (until now).

What the hell is that thing?
@Harjap zzstu Khabra When I see "research equipment", I figure it must be about $5800 then, right? And it's bought by the thousands of NPO's and other organizations that are currently suckling off of the government teat?
This process just looks terribly inefficient compared to injection molding.
There are pros and cons to both, they are different processes designed for different types of parts. You can't injection mold huge hollow shapes. Rotomolding is also lower cost and low molding pressure unlike injection and blow molding.
This is different process.
@@pianofool26 Totally agree. For this huge part, injection molding machine would be very expensive due to high pressure needed.
Why do the producers of so many videos feel the need to include cheesy music? Speaking could add useful information, while music is often just a distraction.
Totally agree and usually the ones with just music have very low views and likes.
Kevin Pezzi I agree as well. So much more can be gathered if there was a narrative...
Then turn off the music. Basically everything is explained in the video and doesn’t need voiceover. Music is just an overlay so it’s not mute and have proved to make people watch more of the video.
Well said.
