they overtune it abit too much
787B's engine is naturally aspirated, powerful 13b ones are turbocharged

There is a youtube channel out there named "misfire" where he is actually trying to make an 8 rotor engine like this and put it into a Tesla supposedly... so perhaps this might be close to what it sounds like.
